Episode 68: The Battle of Millice Valley: Part VIII
Victor Rockletter, head of the Knights of the Springs, followed seven battalions under his command and left the village of Bogby before dawn.
"If you can't follow me, go for Millis Village! Now we fight for a moment, only those who can come with us! Follow me!
He made his way to the battlefield as soon as possible, so the fallen decided to leave it as it was.
He also decided that the horse could not be used ahead of him from the village of Millis, and was going to use it badly.
(Forty km to the village of Millis. We can only go a few km by nightfall, but we should still be able to make more than half an hour. Even if I tortured the horse to the limit, it would be more than six hours to the village and more on foot to the battlefield, so more than two hours... something like we can get there by evening... in time?
In the dark, he relied on the light of the lighted demonic props, pulling his horse and heading east on his fast feet down the street.
After noon, half of the Knights of the Springs arrived in the village of Millis.
The horses' breath was rough, their eyes wide open, and some were still about to fall.
"We're going into the narrow road! Those who are tired and unable to move can rest! Follow me, only those who are confident they can fight!
When Victor shouted that way, the elites of the First Battalion thrust their fists up into heaven and said, "" Ooh! "" I yell.
(The First Battalion is enough. I'll leave the rest to Seaver and I'll move on)
He leads the knights by letting his deputy chief, Seaver Gladstone, put his follow-ups together.
"It's narrow and slippery up ahead. Get off the horse and head on foot. Compete for a moment. Leave your unnecessary luggage here for the battle! We'll take back the third battalion! Let's go!"
Faces of the First Battalion, which responded again to Victor's loud voice, had begun to run narrowly following the Knights Commander.
Oct. 8, 10 a.m.
The orcs fighting at the exit of the narrow road had already done more than ten throws of stone, inflicting less damage on the enemy.
The stone-throwing was accumulating damage on the enemy, but it was causing many deaths as enemy soldiers stormed endlessly where defenseless shortly after the stone-throwing was over.
From the fourth attack, an oak with a stick was attached to the escort, but on the front line the changeover between the oak that made the stone throw and the oak with the stick did not work and only fuelled the confusion.
Whenever Orc makes a stone throw, after enduring under his shield, the prostitutes mount a storm as if to clear their depression.
In particular, the three captains of the regiment, Hamish Markat, Gareth Ayling, the most squad captain, and Zenga Ormiga, the second squad captain, took advantage of their extraordinary skill and buried many enemies.
Hamish and Gareth fly their oak necks one after the other with their bragging swords. Next to it, Zenga takes advantage of her rigidity to wield an axe spear (Halvard) and smash the enemy's head.
From time to time they had skipped light mouths and even laughed.
To its appearance the prostitutes had forgotten the unfavourable war situation and had begun to feel that they were approaching victory. Their appearance gradually increased the morale of the advance party, but they went up.
Ray was stunned by his extraordinary skill and tireless stamina as he fought with them.
(But are these three really “people”?... the three of us have killed more than fifty of them. Even the sword is supposed to be bloody and cut off, but it's chopping it off regardless at all... I can't believe you can fight with jokes, even if you just bare your bare hands, if you keep doing this much, your breath will go up...)
Ray, who thinks so, also followed up with Ashley next door, who had already defeated more than twenty.
I couldn't even get much rest, and Ray was tired and had a mahy sense of time.
(The enemy's movements are too monotonous and the sense of time is mahi. As far as the sun goes, it should be around ten o'clock. I wonder what the enemy is thinking...)
It was clear to everyone's eyes that there was no effect of stone throwing already, and they could not read the thoughts of the demonic side continuing with it.
(Is the enemy commander injured and the chain of command confused? Even monotonous attacks accumulate a little bit of damage, so when it comes to effectiveness it works...)
The commander of the advance party, Hamish Markat, could not afford more than to see from the side. He made it look like he was fighting as he joked and was corrupt about raising the morale of his allies.
(Our damage was more than thirty in the morning attack. A soldier who can be described as a force of war must have interrupted a hundred men. Wrong time to withdraw, it will be wiped out...)
In the dawn phase, there were forty-two dead and thirty-three seriously wounded, but there were already eight more dead and twenty-three seriously wounded, fifty dead and fifty-six seriously wounded and the damage exceeded a hundred.
Many of the seriously wounded cannot walk on their own, and will need assistance in retreating, thus further reducing the amount of combat power they are now in.
(It's a mountain around noon. The enemy should also show movement around it......)
His predictions will be betrayed. That's also in a good direction.
The Demonic General, Yurki Bindler, gradually becomes confused because of the wound he received on his shoulder after requesting support from the Winged Demons, the Great Ghost Nation at 8 a.m.
(Pain relief does not work. If there were a healer like the enemy... maybe a heavenly punishment for me for not holding the hands of the Winged Demons... well, my allies will be here in a few hours...)
He had to let go of consciousness many times and leave the command in between to his men, Tamer.
But since Tamer left the battlefield alone to request reinforcements, he would be up against the enemy with three Tamers.
For this reason, Tamer's fatigue accumulated and he was to repeat a monotonous battle.
Oct. 8, noon.
Winged Demon Spellman, Asla Volti, is contacted by Tamer of the Middle Ghost Nation.
"... in short, you're pushing ten times as hard on just 200 enemies... ok. I'll talk to Balthazar."
She searches for Balthazar Owomoela, the Great Haunted Tamer, who will be attacked by Fort Chulock, in fright.
(I can't believe I can't push it off with ten times more power. No matter how many amazing magicians there are, there's only one. Well, depending on what you think, it might have been good. The Middle-Ghost Clan's voice was reduced in this battle. But Yurki would have done a little more if he hadn't put me up too...)
Balthazar was in command inside the village of Turok.
To him comes Asla and Tamer of the Middle-Ghost tribe.
He saw the look on the face of the Middle-Ghost tribe and intuited that the chase was not going well.
"It's been three days and they can't wipe out just 200 enemies. Not only that, Yurki was injured."
Balthazar looked at the Middle-Ghost tribe and said, "How's the war going? confirm."
Tamer reports, one knee down, his head dripping.
"Yes, we are gradually reducing the enemy's power, but our orcs have already lost half and are in adhesive condition."
Balthazar's face was distorted for a moment and he was looking down at Asura.
"What are you going to do with the Wingman? You can't lose Yurki."
"Right. We're the only ones faster, and I'll see how it goes. At worst, we have to look at the retreat as well..."
"Right. The strength of the Middle-Ghost tribe here is five hundred, our fifty. You can drop the fort with a force push, but it will be time for enemy reinforcements. In that case, we'll have to pull."
Asura also nodded at the words, and she took the Winged Devil and the Little Devil and flew towards the west.
Balthazar, who was left, was remembering when he formed this army.
(That's why I said it. Deciding on a general would be confusing. If we send a young man like Yurki to the battlefield, if the skilled man does not divide the whole thing, the battle itself will collapse. Today is October 8th. Less than three months? I wanted to stick around here for another half month, but I got to stop...)
As he thought about the retreat, leaving the battlefield to Tamer of the Middle-Ghost tribe under his command, he took Auga with him and headed west.
Asra Volti, the Winged Demon Spellman, takes three of his Winged Demons (Lesser Demons) and twenty Little Demons (Imps) and flies west. I had left Fort Chulock with my subordinate spellmaster apprentice, Kirishi Venzel and the Little Devil fifty, but was anxious to entrust command to the young Kirishi.
(It would have been easier for the Winged Demons (of us) to send another spellman or so... well, I know they won't break any more power into the Yang Dynasty operation. To Kirishi, I'm anxious to entrust the battlefield...)
And I was beginning to remember my anger at Yurki Bindler, the Middle-Ghost general who invited this situation, and the elders of the Middle-Ghost tribe who elected him.
(Empty on our own and ruin the operation... our aim is not to destroy the enemy, it's a positive move. What are the elders of the Middle-Ghost tribe (Jizzi) thinking about pushing those who don't understand it? If this fails to recapture the Divine Son, how are you going to take responsibility? Oh, if you stay like this, me and Balthazar will be reprimanded, won't they? Yurki will have to survive and take full responsibility...)
After flying for about an hour, we approach the battlefield.
Underneath her eyes were the sights of the wandering oaks.
(I wonder what you're doing? Yeah, it's a raider search...... I don't know how many people ambushed you, but it shouldn't be that big a number. Then I wish I could leave you alone. What are you going to do, disperse your power in vain?
Asuras, there were those who watched the wing demons fly from below.
It was Lazareth Dawell and Stella, captains of Squad III, who had been running around the woods all night.
With the dawn Lasalles was moving faster, dramatically pulling the oaks apart.
Then, after finding a small river, washing away the blood there and taking a break for about three hours, Stella, who was on watch, discovered the figure of dozens of wing demons flying over the sky.
"Hide in the shadows of the rocks! It's the Wings!
Stella issues a warning to Lazareth and hides herself in the shadows of the rocks.
(If that distance, you shouldn't be looking like a wing demon. But this will make the war even worse... I wonder if Ray is safe...)
"Stella, do you know how many?
Lazareth's low and suppressed voice echoes on the rocks.
"I think a big wing demon is about four, a small wing demon is about twenty."
"Right... about 5 km from this place to the entrance of the narrow road. I can't reach you in time."
Lazareth deposits her body in the rock, and when she squeals so, she calls Stella again.
"Do you have any idea how far away we are from the street?
Stella didn't know the intent of the question and was confused for a moment, but immediately spoke of her predictions.
"Exactly...... I think it's about 2 km south?
He was thinking of doing what we could to stop the enemy reinforcements who would go down the street.
"We're going down the street. The fact that the Wings have headed for reinforcements may mean that the Augs are headed for reinforcements as well. Do what you can to slow down your enemies' feet a little bit"
Stella nodded small and began to prepare to leave.
Oct. 8, 1 p.m.
Asura saw the battlefield and was losing her words.
(I heard you lost half... I can't believe you used a body to build a dirt base... the enemy still doesn't seem to be able to fight. It's ten times more powerful, and it's the allies that are being pushed?
She remembered the terror in the earth bases where the oak bodies were piled up and in the bodies of the orcs that had been overflowing with mess around them.
(Who is he that can carry out so many killings with so few soldiers... how can he keep fighting for more than two days without running away? The coolness of using anything you can, that ”white magician” could be the one sent by the God of Light (Lucidus)... you can't win this much power difference. If that man had more power than he has now... our ”plan” would go ash...)
Asura is just intuitive and realizes that Ray supports this battlefield.
(I don't want to die here. That man can also take me alive......)
She couldn't keep her body from trembling.
(As soon as I treat Yurki, I need to step back. At least until we have Balthazar......)
She went down to the main unit with Yurki.
In the Crusaders advance party, he was shocked by the appearance of a wing demon.
"Finally, enemy reinforcements have arrived! It's over!
Hamish Markat drinks at that word that one of the prostitutes threw up.
"It's not rattling! Though you knew enemy reinforcements were coming! Rather, it's too late! Right, Ray!
All of a sudden, Ray, who was told the story, gives a look of surprise for a moment, but immediately smiles with a spare moment and starts talking.
"Right. The arrival of the Wingman means that the enemy is suffering considerably too."
"But they can use magic. There are no more arrows over here. What to do..."
Who says that like a grunt, Ray smiles even more indifferently.
"It's okay. I'll shoot the Wingman down. [M] It hurts a little that healing magic won't work, because my magic has a longer range and more power than wing demon magic. Hey, Captain?
Hamish laughs when he is told back.
"That's right! The magic of this guy is enough to make me, this guy admit to (...) losing. So don't worry!
When Hamish says so, the survival of the Marcut Mercenaries goes in tune with it.
"We saw it with these eyes. Where that” red-armed Hamish "admitted to losing. That guild chief flew in in a hurry to lay down a warrant."
The young mercenaries of the advance party and the survival of the Knights lose their voice to the words. For they thought Hamish, arguably a living legend, was impossible, such as admitting to losing.
Ray had inner thoughts behind his expression.
(Though to inspire everyone, I can't believe I spew the grand language spectacular...... if it's magic right now, there are about ten arrows of light, and if it's spears of light, I can only shoot a couple of shots...... I guess Mr. Hamish thinks the same thing. The enemy has come to crush us for real, but he can't escape any more than the Wingman has come. So I guess you're acting cheerful to get some morale......)
Ashley understood exactly what Ray thought of being forced to laugh.
(I can't do it. He vomits a grand language that he would never normally say to support his father as a general. I continue to hang my healing magic this morning. I don't know how much magic is left, but it should probably even be hard to stand...)
Ashley points to a flock of moving oaks.
"The next attack is coming! Ray, you stay back!
He said, "I'll fight, too. We can't afford to back off anymore," he laughs.
Ashley also laughed back, "Then don't leave me," he said.
Hamish, who was watching the sight, felt the loneliness of his only daughter leaving, but soon became a warrior figure.
"Four squads and five squads set up shields!
To his order, the mercenaries were looking to their enemies, wearing shields worn out enough not to retain their original form.
Asla Volti stepped down under Yurki Bindler, general of the Middle-Ghost tribe.
Yurki was lying on a simple sleeping table, but admitting Asura's appearance, he tried to wake up.
"Don't push it. 'Cause I'll be cured soon."
He follows the word honestly and lays down again.
"Lord Asura, I'm sorry..."
Asura controls "shut up" with her eyes against Yurki, who tries to apologize.
When she removes the bandage wrapped around his shoulder, a red and black rotten wound appears. She gently pressed her right hand against the wound and began to cast a small grunting spell.
A black misty object slowly covers the wound from its right hand.
When the black mist disappeared from his shoulder in about thirty seconds, the ugly, rotten wound disappeared and the pink skin was booming.
"I think this is going to be okay. By the way, what are you going to do after this?
Yurki bows her head gently and, expressing her gratitude, begins to speak with a bitter expression.
"Lord Asla, I want to borrow the hand of Lord Balthazar."
"You want to borrow my hand?
"Oh, enemy power is already in critical condition. I can destroy it with one more push. Shoot in the magic of the Wings..."
Asura blocked his words,
"I'm just here to see how it goes. And with one more push, can we really take him down? I'm not going to peddle your judgment and destroy my power."
Yurki distorts his face with regret and tries to keep talking,
"The enemy has that (...) sorcerer. That (...) Balthazar wary sorcerer. In the first place, you don't seem to understand the purpose of this operation. We don't want to destroy our enemies. Well, fine. Balthazar should be here in about two hours, too, because I'm not gonna get my hands on him until I get his opinion."
That's all she said, she walked away from before Yurki.
Yurki, left behind, clenches his fist, but soon regains his calm.
(This is what I invited, too. Two more hours or we'll just have to keep attacking them so they don't rest)
He gave an order to his manipulator (Tamer) to switch to a melee with a stick and mount a corrugated attack to keep the enemy awake.
(If Lord Balthazar comes, Lord Asura will change his mind, too. Until then patience......)
He was still optimistic. No, those on this battlefield, including him, did not expect the situation to change dramatically after this.
