Trinitas Mundus
Episode XXXI: Operation Conference
December 15th.
Ray headed with Stella to investigate the city of Periclitle, and Ashley headed to Guild headquarters to get information on the Lunas from Lloyd in the Intelligence Division.
The Rays will see the city from the east side, where the Demons will invade.
(Is this neighborhood residential? The north side is a commercial district, and the south side is a city of adventurers. It feels like the adventurers live in the east with a lot of their residents. Because of the density of wooden two-story homes, if we don't get them evacuated early, they're going to panic...)
He takes out his writing equipment and notes the height of the building and the width of the city alley.
Turning from the East End to the South End End, the building itself grows larger with many inns, weapons stores, etc.
(You have a big, solid building around here. Exactly no stone building......)
Go around with the West and North districts, which are commercial districts.
On the south side of the West End is a fancy sign drinking-street style. But it seemed different to Ray than a normal drinking district.
(For the drinking district, you don't feel open. The windows are made differently...)
And as I walked through the city, I knew what this city meant.
It was because I was mistaken for a few young women dressed in fancy costumes.
(Maybe... this is a pleasure street, no, the one with the colored streets?
Once in the back, there is a whorehouse still open, and a whore calls out to him as he passes in front. He blushed, quickly slipping through the colorful streets.
Ray had stolen Stella's expression, but her expression had not changed at all and on the contrary she had asked worryingly about his face being red.
"Your face seems red, but is it bad for you to add up or subtract?
He walks even faster, deluding himself "because it's nothing".
Hanging from the north side of the western district to the north, many large buildings are also splendid and warehouse-like. The road width is also wider so that picking up wagons is easier, and I guess a lot of wagons usually go and go.
(Don't even feel cold when there are few people on the road for a wide distance. I've seen all the districts, but there's still over 30,000 people left. Maybe I have mood problems, but don't feel like there are fewer people than I thought)
Having finished watching the city build, Ray looks along the city's outer walls.
As you can see from the outside, the city's exterior walls are just an easy build with round-tails pointed at tips about four meters high, and if an orga over three meters tall hangs around your body, it looks like it could easily be destroyed.
At Randall's behest, Yokogi has been beaten and fortified, but still not far from the defense of the stone walls.
And as I looked at the outer wall and went, I was concerned that the separation between the outer wall and the closest house was only about two meters.
(But you have a house built to the outer wall critical. One of these days, this outer wall will be demolished and the city will spread, but this will get in the way of protecting the city...)
And then I looked up and realized it was there.
All the outermost houses are bungalows, and there is not a single two-story building. It is also narrowly spaced from the roof of the neighboring house and is built like a long house.
(Yeah? Right, if we place soldiers with long spears on the roof, we can thrust down the enemies that we've gotten over from the roof. If you shoot an arrow from a two-story house in the back, it will serve as a defensive facility for once...)
But I also noticed the problem with this making.
(... If they stick to the outer wall, instead of attacking them, they don't have the means to discover them. If they come up from several places at the same time, it seems difficult to get around on the roof, so don't feel useless......)
Ray was looking inside the city, thinking about the residents.
(I guess the residents here love this city too. As Ash loves Fonce - the King's Capital of the Kingdom of Lax - trying to protect our country with our own hands... I don't really know what that feels like. I never seriously thought about what I would do if Japan was attacked by a foreign country, and I don't have the kind of education to think about it. I know it would be sad if my city was broken by a natural disaster, but if you were to actively protect it, maybe you'd run away...)
He noted a few points he noticed and headed to Guild Headquarters.
He joined Ashley around 11 a.m. at Alliance headquarters.
"We found out where Hazel's party is. It's still Rickadale. They say vigilance around the village is the task, but they're not coming back for another five days."
(Rickadale? It's definitely a demon hunting base. Not as good as a fortified city, but also highly defensive. But if we go into the woods, when might the Demons reach out? Still, I find it miraculous that they haven't gotten their hands on it before...... are you going to do something to match the Periclitle invasion? Either way, the adventurers I'm sending are going to advise Periclitle to pull them off...)
Ray says thank you to Ashley and heads to Randall's room.
Upon announcement of the visit at the entrance, he was immediately put through the room.
Some of them appeared to be Lionel Raspade, a professor at the Tilia School of Magic in Doctus.
Ray meets Raspade lightly and laughs bitterly, "I ended up here," he said.
Randall welcomed him with a slightly more spare look than yesterday.
"Did you come up with something?"
"For once… First, let me tell you what I thought…"
Randall, Raspade, and several commanders of Randall's men's defense forces take their seats.
Apparently, we were going to wait for Ray's arrival and have an ops meeting.
Randall will introduce you to the Rays.
"As you can see, the mercenaries of the Mercenary Corps of Markat (Red Arms). He is also a young but active fierce man in Millis Valley. Ashley Marcutt is the daughter of" Red Arm Hamish, "Stella is the" Armored Al, "and Alberic Auger admitted scouts. And this Ray Arklight..."
Here Randall looked around everyone and then stopped looking at Ray,
"Be a rare magician and famous spear..."
Here's the cut of words, with a play hanging trick,
"... and the poem" The White Master "of Millis Valley."
The commanders marvel at the words and round their eyes. And the “so young” whine leaks.
"These are the three of us who brought us information about the Demons. Ray, in particular, has been warning the Demons of their invasion for over a month. If we had ears to ask, it could have developed a little differently. This time, I decided to put Ray next to me as a staff officer. This is a matter of decision."
Randall started an operational meeting after declaring that to his men.
"So let's start. Ray, let me hear your thoughts first."
Ray blushed at Randall's overrated,
"I'd like to get my, no, perception of the current situation together before I tell you what I think. First of all, it's the demonic power, but there will be at least three thousand or more because the auga is at least three hundred and the oak and goblins are thousands at a time. Plus there could be a wing demon we saw near the village of Thysek. Shall we go this far?
Make sure everyone snorts and move on.
"Next is their purpose, but this is unknown so far. But if you think you're around Periclitle, the possible purpose would be to occupy this Periclitle. It's hard to say, but you could be using a woman in Periclitle to try to create a demon."
Here a man about forty years old has asked to speak. When Randall nodded,
"I hear that information from Professor Raspade, is it true? As true, will the Demons base this elusive Periclitle?
Ray nods lightly at Raspade and waves the story.
"It is a fact that women's bodies are used to produce demons. The Sorcerer's Guild confirms the body of a woman who was actually conceived east of the Kingdom of Lax. But the details are completely unknown."
When we're done talking about Raspade, Ray starts talking on his behalf.
"We may not be making this a permanent base. But Periclitle is the largest city around here. Further north Cardobeck, west Orton and south Thornbrough are all fortified cities. With great strength, if we keep these three cities occupied, we won't be able to reach Periclitle that easily, even if the reinforcements of all nations went to Periclitle."
And we will mention the reinforcement of the demonic power.
"As the teacher said, I don't know how long it takes to“ manufacture ”demons of the Demons. But in Fort Chulock in the Kingdom of Lax, several demons (monster-tamers) manipulated three thousand oaks. Given the effect of the ambush, I don't think it took that long. In fact, it's only been three months since we first encountered Auga that we've ambushed the fort. That was possible in a sparsely populated neighborhood. Cities with this large population will be able to build up their forces even faster."
Starting Randall, everyone was listening to his words.
"If another village or city, not Pericritle, thinks it's the target, their actions don't fit. Because if you're the enemy's power, you can ravage the village in no time without guzzling it. I also find it hard to think about attacking Caldbeck or Thornbrough, a fortified city. If you attack here without Periclitle, you will be attacked from behind by Periclitle's power while attacking the castle."
Everyone is nodding about how easy it is for the commanders to imagine.
"Reinforcements are currently being sent from various countries to the Kingdom of Lax. This reinforcement is on a snow-closed border. It will also take considerable time for further large-scale reinforcements to be organized with countries. This means that it is unlikely that a large reinforcement will be dispatched here in Periclitle at the moment. Of course, the Demons know this too, so first of all, why don't you slap Periclitle, your greatest power, and slowly drop the fortified city?"
After watching them all snort, they swallow their sawdust and continue to talk.
"The enemy showed us traces only once. So why doesn't the enemy show up for ten days? It's a pretty impossible inference because we don't have much information on this… it seems that the enemy is trying to disperse this battle force"
You can't keep up with Ray's story, starting with Randall, and the commanders were leaning their necks a little.
"This adventurer is better at scouting and scouting than in group warfare. Once you show you're here, and then disappear, you can easily guess if you do a massive investigation. The Demons can act solidified, but the adventurers who went on reconnaissance naturally disperse themselves in the woods. With such a wide forest, it's easy to imagine scouts in hundreds of units, and you don't have the means to instantly convey the order to pull them off, so if you poke through that gap, your enemies will be able to attack in your favor."
Randall said, "Does that mean we were put on the enemy?" he asks with a bitter look.
"Perhaps so. So far, about 20% of the power to defend this city has gone into scourge. I think we should get him to pull this off right away."
A man in his late thirties argues.
"But exploring hostility is fundamental to military law. Don't you know where your enemies are or how powerful they are, and it's reckless to go into battle?
"Generally speaking, I think you're right," Ray replies.
"But only this time, the enemy's power is at least stronger than ours. And they're about to attack some stronghold. As Rickadale and the villages to get there were the targets, our forces cannot stop the enemy. At least we can't empty Periclitle, so isn't turning half of our current battle power the limit?
Randall nods, "Right."
"It's not a good idea, but if those villages get attacked, we can't help them."
The first commander to ask the question stands up, "So you want me to abandon the village?"
"The village (...) abandons. But I haven't abandoned the villagers (...). Evacuate the villagers to a safe fortified city and you can avoid human damage."
The commander says "um" and sits back in the chair.
"We cannot protect everything with our power. What's more, I don't know if I can even protect this Periclitle. If so, I think we should concentrate our efforts wherever possible in order to increase our chances of winning."
Ray puts a little time there.
Randall opened his mouth to Seo Momouro,
"I support Ray's idea."
The commanders also spoke out in agreement with the words, feeling that they had no choice.
"I found out about the concentration of power. But as you said earlier, even if we get all the adventurers together, our chances of winning should be significantly lower. You got any ideas?
"There is, but... if we don't broil out the Demon Secret Service before then, we'll be out of control"
In his words, "He said he was a demon spy!," the commanders colour.
Raspade started talking quietly.
"What you're trying to say, Arklight, is you're not leaving the hypothetical realm. The hypothesis is that if people use the Demon Demon Demon Demon (Monster Tame) method, they can be puppets. But in this situation, it would be dangerous to leave it because it's a hypothesis."
"The teacher is right. In my opinion, the puppet has already entered."
With Randall looking sinister,
"Do you have an idea?
Ray nods yes and suddenly changes the subject.
"Why can't we follow the trail of more than thousands of demonic armies?
Once again, a forties commander replies, "I guess it's because the party that followed the trail has been terminated".
"But if you look at the route of the party back, you should be able to cover the area in charge of the missing party, even if you can't find the main unit itself, at least you'll notice traces of movement"
For a moment, the field is dominated by heavy air. Randall tore the air.
"So one of the six parties back is a puppet."
"It means it's likely. We don't have any evidence, but we're trying to figure it out."
"Okay. But what if there wasn't a puppet in it?
"We will carry out the measures as they are then. It's about the measures..."
Ray will explain to Randalls what he has in mind.
"... it's a pretty big deal, but if you don't even have a secret detective, you won't be noticed first"
Randall listened to Ray's measures and the words didn't come out for a while.
"I know it does work... but I don't think they'll work as you say... can you do it in the first place..."
In response to that question, Ray said,
"I don't know. Including phototheism, there are too many anxiety elements, so I think the betting element is huge. But in this situation where I cannot evacuate all the inhabitants, this is the only hand I could come up with. It is up to Mr Randall in the directive and those in Parliament to adopt it or not. But just keep in mind that you don't have time."
That's all Ray says, shut his mouth.
Silence dominates the conference room. One minute later, Randall opened his mouth heavily.
"I'm going to adopt Ray's measures. Let me have your opinion."
The commanders looked at each other, shaking their heads, but the youngest man who had never spoken opened his mouth.
"I think I should be on Lord Arklight's measures, too. I wonder if I have to adopt any more (...) measures, no more (...) measures than I can think of."
Randall made up his mind in those words.
"Open to Parliament, but implement this measure under the authority of the Defense Commander, even if Parliament objects. You guys need to start getting ready right away. Ray, you need to broil the demon puppets. You can use my authority. Find me as soon as you can."
