Trinitas Mundus

Episode XIV: Collecting Information in Barbezy

April 14th.

Having successfully completed the creation of Ione's orb, a line left the town of Talljig.

The immediate destination is a major traffic shock barbecue one hundred and sixty km (Kimmel) away. It is an accomodation town on the main street, Als Street, where information on the Empire comes from the south and information on the Kingdom of Lax and Pericritle comes from the north.

The seven Ray, Ashley, Stella, Alberic, Luna, Ryan and Ione travel by horse, but Uno and the other beastly slaves travel by foot.

"We still have to travel hundreds of kimmels, and there are many mountain roads, so why not use a horse"

In response to Ray's suggestion, Uno says thank you, but refuses to do so.

"We can travel faster on our own feet. This is also the quicker way to respond to emergencies."

The Unos travel at no less speed than horses.

On the contrary, using your original leg strength, you can travel more than a hundred kimmels a day.

With the exception of special examples like the early horses of the decree in riding, the limit is about sixty kimmels per day even while changing horses. They travel much faster than that.

Ray knows about that too, but I really feel sorry for the way they run before and after the horse.

(I know, but you think it's bad that this one's making it easier with horses. And there's quite a bit of up-down...)

A few demons appeared, but the journey went well as the Unos eliminated them before the Rays went down the horse.

He then proceeded forty kimmels per day and arrived in the accommodation town of Barbezie on April 17th.

Barbezy is a major traffic shock as well as one of the defence requirements of the Kingdom of Kaum.

The Kingdom of Kaum has good relations with the Caerm Empire, bordering the North-South border, and since Fortis, bordering the western border, is a mercenary country of perpetual neutrality, the enemy is only the demonic tribe of the east.

The basic strategy of the kingdom was to stop the demons at Fort Toa and defeat them by putting in the fighting forces stationed in Barbezy, where nearly three thousand elites of the Black Steel Knights, the kingdom's regular army, were stationed.

Speaking of stationing, Barbezi is just a street lodging town and cannot accommodate as many as three thousand soldiers. For this reason, a garrison was created near the town, where it presented a look like another town.

The Rays walked into the lodging town looking at the garrison.

After entering the inn, we headed to gather information.

Alberic and Ashley go to the branch of the Mercenary Guild, Ray and Stella head to the Adventurer Guild, Luna takes Ryan, Ione, around the Blacksmith Guild and the Commercial Guild.

When Ray, who questioned the matter, asks why, she gives a slightly troubled look and tells him only "because I may have an old acquaintance".

Although Ray wonders, he didn't ask any more if she didn't want to talk.

The Unos were dispersed in their respective groups and provided escorts.

Arriving at the Adventurer's Guild, Ray went to the reception and began gathering information about street safety and the political situation.

The mid twenties woman who was at the reception confirms the orb and answers his question, although she is surprised by the fact that he was in fifth grade before twenty.

"So far, you don't have any information in there that there was a major anomaly on Ars Street. Pericritle seems to be rebuilding well, and does it feel like both Aurelia Street and Fonce Street are almost back before the demonic invasion"

"Do you have any information about the Caerm Empire?

"That's right," the receptionist replied with a smile, exploring her memory, "you don't have any particularly novel information.

"Luke, do you have any information on the Holy King?

"There's very little information coming in here about that country... no, there was only one interesting rumor."

When Ray urges first,

"An adventurer from Periclitle told me that those arrogant light gods bowed their heads to the guild chief to rent a carriage. He was surprised to hear that was to carry the peasant militia. I also accidentally said it would be a lie..."

I didn't know who bowed their heads in the receptionist's story, but Ray reassures me that Bishop Maggioni Gastaldi took his request and moved for the farmers of the village of Fiscal.

(I didn't like him, but he seems to have managed to do me a favor. Hopefully this will get the people of the village of Fiskal home safely......)

I heard a lot of other things, but I didn't have any information that I was particularly concerned about.

Upon finishing collecting the information and returning to the Inn, Ashley and Luna are also returning, each of whom performs a mix of the information obtained.

"What I heard about Brother Al is that the streets are almost normalized. I have also heard that there are more traffic on Als and Aurelia streets than usual for the reconstruction of Periclitle..."

The story Ashley heard was almost identical to the information Ray got.

After Ray communicates his information, he shows off what Luna heard in the Blacksmith Guild and the Commercial Guild.

"It's pretty much the same as Ray and Mr. Ashley's information, but there's only one additional piece of information. It's just a rumor, there was talk that Luke was about to invade the Empire."

"Luke did? You've been at war before," Ray asked.

"Yeah, we always do skirmishes close to a city called Lark Hill on the border. But this time it's like a bigger operation."

"But is that all Luke has left? Rather than that, where is that information coming from?

"It's a commercial guild," he answered Ashley's question,

"They're talking about some clergy claiming they should be prepared for invasion operations because God's miracle happens"

"I didn't know we were going to wage war in anticipation of God's miracle... it sounds like Luke, but the peasants to be conscripted are not accumulated"

Ashley remembers the peasant militia she saw in Periclitle and squeals like throwing up.

"Yeah, I think so too. But if it goes to war, it's bound to affect us, too."

"What do you mean? Just so you know, the city of Lark Hill is west of the Empire, right? We're just going to the southern part of the empire, so I don't think it's going to affect us. I wonder if security will make it harder to move or something like that."

Ray's perception is not strong or wrong.

Even in previous wars, the Imperial Army has only sent troops, and there has been no confusion at all near the Imperial capital. Precisely, the logistics from Aurelia lagged behind or war-related prices rose only so much.

"Perhaps the security of a large city within the Empire will be strengthened. So I think Ezarrington's examination will be tough. In that case, the presence of Uno will be a problem..."

Luke's most feared force of war for the Empire is the Beast Slave Squad. It is easy to imagine a beast slave being wary of being sent in as an assassin.

"The Unos would let us in even in the city of Ezarrington without going through the gates, but the security over there is tighter than the others. If that's all it could be, I have a bigger problem."

"What is that?" Ashley asks.

"Jilsor is across the ocean. This means that you need a ship to cross the ocean. Even Uno and the others can't cross the island without using a ship..."

Her explanation was that there would be a large number of vessels passing through Gilsor, a neutral country, to conduct intensive trade with Luke, and that the ad hoc inspection of vessels going to Gilsor would be tighter.

"It's not just the Unos. I heard very few people go to Jilsol for no reason. Which means we can go and find out exactly what we're going to do, too."

Everyone on the spot thought Luke would move when things were bad between them too.

"In any case, you don't have a plan to use the sea route via Aurelia."

When Ashley affirms, everyone nods.

"Right. The Imperial Army will be keeping an eye on you, too, because you have to go through Lukes to get from Aurelia to Gilsor. First of all, I don't think there's a ship going from Aurelia to Zirsole at that time of year..."

Ray speaks for everyone's thoughts.

"As Mr. Ashley said, can we just say that we're heading south from here?

Luna looks around and confirms everyone, but there was no disagreement from anyone.

"Then I'll say goodbye here. Because Hamish will be angry if we don't get back to Fonce just now. I'm sorry it sounds funny."

Alberic flaunts his shoulders to the rays with a serious look on his face.

"Nevertheless, you also have a handover in your commercial guild. Just a blacksmith's guild would be a surprise."

When Alberic said that, Luna just nodded with an ambiguous look and didn't say anything.

After deciding to go south, Ashley said,

"I am also a land I do not know south of Barbezie. Only Luna and Stella have ever been through this. I want to respect their views on the way forward. If you need anything under the circumstances, just tell me."

Luna is suddenly told that and confused,

"I don't think there was anything difficult going on up to Ars. Accommodation towns should also have been relatively short intervals, so there is nothing like camping even in the event of unforeseen circumstances"

"Right. Stella, do you have anything to add?"

"There is only one," he says, pulling out his own sword.

"Me and Master Ashley's weapons are poorly maintained. For once, I also take care of Sochius, but I was told that it was still difficult to take care of what Dwarf's blacksmith made without Dwarf."

"Right. My sword also stands out for blade ruin. So the suggestion is in Ars?

"Yes. Ars is a city of blacksmiths. You got my chain shirt there, too. Why not stay in Ars for a few days and take care of your weapons?

Ashley nods loudly at it.

"I agree. Ars has over a thousand Dwarf blacksmiths. It's hard for them, but it won't be hard to find someone who can do it if it's just care for them. And the weapons of Lord Uno. It is not of such poor quality, but it is not commensurate with Lord Uno's arms. I don't know how much money I can have right now, but it would be more reassuring to have something a little better equipped."

The weapons of the Unos had become objects obtained in Zaleshe, the capital of the Ghost Nation. Because their battles were intense and the sword they had used until then was severely worn out.

There are also blacksmiths in Sochius, but they are a people or a little ghost, and there are no Dwarf blacksmiths. Furthermore, the fighting style of the ghosts was often beaten to power, and few swords suited the style of the Unos, who were predominantly slashing and tearing.

Ray agrees with that, too.

"Let's do that. You're not arguing every minute you say you're going to hurry. Besides, I didn't spend more time than I thought in Toa. I wonder if it's all right financially. I have 30,000 kronas."

Ray's 30,000 krona is worth about 30 million yen in Japanese yen. If you're buying a regular weapon, it's budget enough.

"That's true, but Ars only sells weapons made by good blacksmiths. Right, Luna."

"Yes, there are some things made by young craftsmen..."

"But it's 30,000 kronas... well, Ash's sword was 40,000..."

Ray realized that the sword Ashley bought in Fonce, king capital of the Kingdom of Lax, was struck by Bartel, a famous Dwarf worker, and that 30,000 would not be enough for a sword of the same level.

"This is enough of our weapons," Uno bowed his head and praised, but Ashley did not give in by saying, "We need good weapons for our safety".

"You have no choice. Then sell this to fund it."

Alberic took the leather bag out of his nostalgia and took out a grain of gem. It was a beautifully polished ruby, such a stunning gem that Ray, an amateur, also found it worthwhile.

"This is an emergency fund for the Mercenary Corps of Mercenaries (Red Arms). You just have to use this."

"I guess that belongs to the mercenary regiment. I don't think you can use it on your own. No matter how much, brother Al, it's too irresponsible."

Ashley protests, but Alberic has a cool face,

"I'm still a lieutenant with a regiment leader, I am. I have all this authority."

"But..." Ashley tried to recruit further, but Alberic blocked it,

"If you don't like to have it, if you decide to borrow it. Because I'll tell Hamish I used it to get the Red Arms crew geared up in an emergency. Maybe that'll be about 100,000 kronas, so unless you ask a celebrity craftsman, I think it'll be enough."

Ashley tried to say something more, but Ray stopped it,

"Let's try to borrow it. When you think about our mission, you better be a little more powerful now."

It was decided to borrow funds in one of his words.
