Trinitas Mundus
Episode Fifty: The Temple of Claretore
June 9.
The Rays set out for the Temple of Claretore. Leaving the city of Jilsall, the king's capital, he soon goes into the woods.
The forest was also not as dense as the foothills of the Aquila Mountains, but rather a grove-like forest marked by neglected broad-leaved trees and down-grown shrubs.
Is that why the road is relatively clear, and there are traces of the wagon passing through?
"It's about 10 km (Kimmel) away because of the countryside. If we go a little further, there's almost no way out."
That's what Kitty Erbain explains when she's been to the temple.
As she put it, after passing through some rural areas, the miscellaneous woods soon turned into redsoil wasteland, into dry ground and a land of only gobbling and rolling rocks.
The road is also about as far as there are some signs that people have gone, and it's about to get lost without Kitty, who's been there.
However, he did not feel as dangerous as his journey from Renecrates in the north, and proceeded smoothly with his horse under a clear sky.
The following day, weather will also be blessed in the morning and things will go well. However, the uphill continues to dazzle and the altitude rises slightly.
When I looked at my right hand, the blue sea level of the Austererian Sea was brilliant far beyond.
"You've come up a long way," Ray tells Kitty.
"Right. But it's also way uphill from here. Be careful not to crush the horses."
The last warning was addressed to everyone.
The gradient then gradually becomes tighter and begins to plague even more with the strong sunshine characteristic of the South. I started gasping heavily except for Ray's beloved horse around after noon.
In Ashley's words, "Looks like you should go down the horse," everyone went down the horse, including Ray.
"How much longer?," Luna asks Kittley,
"I think we're about ten kimmels away. About, like, four hours."
Once again, he went into the woods like a grove, and the sun radiation softened, but it was harder to walk than ever before, and the Rays were deprived of their health.
After walking for about two hours, the jungle turns into a deep forest.
And the trees shall be great trees like an oak, and the surroundings shall be dim. However, the path was clearer than before. Until now, it was a beast path that had only been stepped on, but it was paved with a little bit of concrete.
There were a number of small rivers in the woods, but stone bridges were built and there was no obstacle to passage.
"Sounds like an imperial path," Luna said.
"Right. This was paved with earthly attribute magic," Kitley replies.
The main streets of the Empire are paved by earthly attribute magic and are regularly maintained. But was this road insufficiently maintained or was the grass stretching from the crack?
"I'm not sure because I can't use earthly attributes, Zach, but I hear you're talking about a different way to make an empire path. You said this one feels older."
"Older than the path of the Empire, do you mean more than two thousand years ago?
"I hear you are. The Imperial Path has a magic formation embedded in it for maintenance, but it's not here. Really? And he said the path here is made of simple stone-creating magic, and there's no curing magic hanging on the surface like an empire."
"That's amazing, Mr. Zach. You know that, too," Ray admires.
"Really? It's a rare talent to be an adventurer, as Dr. Raspade always said. Of course, I'm thinking the same thing."
I walk through the woods talking about that.
Ray was walking, thinking about this forest.
(I don't know what this feels like... It's called a guarded forest, and the atmosphere changed like I went into a shrine forest. I wonder if it feels like we're in a shrine... and I don't know if we can call it a climate, but it looks like it's become a completely different land. I felt like Mexico or Texas when I was in the wasteland, but I feel richer here. Maybe that's what you think because of the abundance of water......)
Tell Ashley and Stella what you felt.
"Right. The atmosphere around here is something that leads to the Lax Forest. I don't know what it is."
Stella also nodded at Ashley's words,
"I thought the same thing. But in my case, I felt close to the forest in the Moenia Mountains, near where I was born."
Luna, Ryan and Ione were also thinking about their hometown woods.
"It's strange, this forest... Something that reminded me of my birthplace, Sartooth, too. I hope it's not harmful at all, but it's a really strange place."
When Kitley says so, Ray asks, "Didn't Mr. Zach say anything about this?"
"Right. His wife, Lydiane, can see the Spirit, but she also said it doesn't feel like the Spirit of Darkness is doing something. I heard that, Zach. You seem to have come up with something, but you didn't say anything."
Talking about that, several men came out of the woods. Age was falling apart and carrying a large amount of weight in the late teens and mid forties.
"I'm from the village of Natalis. I think he's picking up firewood."
After the men greet Kittry, the Song man responds with a smile, "Also, is it research here?"
"Yeah, I need to do a little research. Even so, she's the star of this one more than I am."
That's what I say and point to Luna.
"I wonder if they're doing research even though you're young. Then we went into the woods again with this".
"It didn't feel closed, did it," Ray tells Luna.
"Yeah, nice people."
"The villagers are so simple. But the clerics are a little more closed, because it feels like a piece of faith."
Go down the road like you're after the men. The day leaned heavily, and the deep woods rapidly darkened.
The woods suddenly opened when I walked for about twenty minutes.
And the wheat fields spread, and beyond them were twenty or thirty houses. White smoke rises from the chimneys of each house, giving the impression of a long idle (idyllic) countryside combined with the red of the sunset.
"Looks like you're a little late. You should rent a house soon."
When Kittry says so, he rides his horse and speeds up his walk.
The Rays imitated it, rode horses and followed her.
Kittry stops a horse in front of a house,
"This is the village chief's house, so I'm going to greet him," he says, leaving the reins with Ray, who was nearby.
Kittry came out in about five minutes, but a magnificent man in his mid-fifties or so was with him.
"It's Mr. Connally, the village chief," he introduces.
Connally bows her head lightly to the Rays with a calm expression, feeling like a farmer, often with deep wrinkles on her burnt face in the day.
The Rays will introduce themselves. When I finished introducing myself, I said a welcome word with a smiling expression.
"If you're with Professor Erbain, you're welcome. Your place to stay is ahead of us. If you don't know, just ask me or my wife."
"Thanks again," Kittley said, beginning to walk towards the one Connally pointed to.
Kittry stopped in front of a house and said, "Here it is".
I heard it was an empty house, but it was bigger than I thought and there were five rooms.
"It's a house I've rented before. The people who lived there died of an epidemic disease last winter. In the fall, the newlyweds are going to live there."
There is also a relatively large livestock hut behind, which takes the horses.
"I'm supposed to get the leaves from my neighbor, so I was wondering if someone could help me"
"I'll help," Ryan raised his hand and headed to the next house with Kitley.
The Rays unload their bags from their horses and enter the house. It was dark inside, but light demon props were available.
"I thought it was like a smaller cabin. At worst, that's a happy miscalculation because I thought it was better than Nojuku's," Ray laughs.
"Right. I think I can take my time here," Stella replies.
After dinner, they were tired and went straight to sleep.
The next morning, we begin our activities with the dawn.
Heading to the well to wash his face, there were housewives from the village of Natalis. Whether Connally has already spoken to you, I welcome you with a smile even when I see the Rays.
"You're with Mr. Kitley. Only young people this time," a middle-aged woman talks to me.
"I'll take care of you," Rays said, bowing his head.
"You don't have to be so hard on me. If you have time, let me talk outside."
There was no hostility at all like that, and on the contrary, I clapped it out.
(Strangely unawary...... normally I think I'd be as wary of people coming from outside as a closed community...... am I just talking about rustic?
I wash my face with that in mind and go back home.
After breakfast, Kitty confirms her plans for today.
"I'm going to the temple now, can we all? Or is it just Luna?
Ray represented and said, "I'm going to go with all of you. I would rethink it if it seemed to reject me," he replies.
"Right. You should take a look at the temple once, so let's all go."
The temple is about five hundred m (melt) north of the village, so we head on foot.
As soon as I leave the village, I enter the forest.
A path made of earthly attributes magic similar to the path into the village extends as it serpents through the woods.
The Rays felt that the sacred atmosphere they also felt yesterday was getting stronger.
Not only are there oaks and bamboos, but there are also many cedar-like coniferous trees, and Luna groans "like a forest in Ise Shrine".
"Have you ever been to Ise Shrine?," Ray hears in such a voice that Kitty doesn't hear him.
"I've traveled with my family before. Even so, when I was in elementary school, the aquarium was more fun and I don't really remember the shrine."
The woods ran out about enough, and there was a stone building ahead.
"Is that the temple?," says Ray, questioning.
The building consisted of two floors, 10 m wide and 20 m deep, with no decorations, but plain, covered with gray stone.
"Yes, it is. I was surprised when I first saw it, too," Kitty said with a serious look. But soon I laughed like a nigga,
"That building is where the priests live. The actual temple is underground, but it's amazing."
Ray could only say, "Really..."
Once inside the temple there was a small room about five m square, behind which was something like an altar.
"I'll wait here, 'cause I'm calling a cleric," Kittry said, opening the door on the right, and walking inside.
The Rays waited hand in hand on the spot, but Uno approached him and began to whisper.
"We're being monitored. I don't feel hostile at the moment, but please be careful."
Ray is about to look around as a ghost in that word, but somehow pretends to be calm with it.
"Does Stella know," she whispered to Stella.
"I feel it somehow, but clearly..." clouds the words.
(Mr. Uno, you can't tell if it's not a class. Does that mean you're a fairly skilled man? But why in this temple...)
Ray had his doubts, but Kitley came back before he could confirm it.
"I can't see the Chief Cleric, but he's supposed to listen to me. But it's hard for all of us, so he wants us to be like four people, including me."
Luna said to Ray, "What do we do? Me and you, the other Mr. Ashley," he confirms. She's not telling the story that there's surveillance, and she's not nervous.
"Right. I'm going to ask Uno, not Ash," sends Ashley a meaningful gaze.
Ashley didn't know until his intentions, but felt it made sense and nodded instantly.
"Right. Even if I go, I can't join the conversation. Then you should leave it to Lord Uno, who is the best skill."
"You just don't want to hear boring stories, Ash," he says with a laugh, hitting the play to keep the watchman off guard.
"That's what I'm talking about," he made one evil looking face, and Ashley got on with it, too.
"Then we'll go in the back. But don't worry, it's right there in the room."
That's what Kitley's going to lead the Rays on.
Where the four of them are gone, Ashley said, "I'm bored to be here. I sweat lightly outside. Stella, I'm sorry, but you have to deal with me," he said, leaving the temple.
Stella goes after it too and checks the perimeter. Ashley whispers as Stella approaches.
"What happened?"
"Mr. Uno noticed the watchman. Seems like more surveillance than I feel. So Lady Ray was named Uno."
"A watchman... honestly walked in, which means there's no hostility"
"Yes, Mr. Uno assured me of that."
"Then I'll have to leave it to Ray. Well, it's unnatural to talk too much. Let's start training."
That's what I said and started waving my sword.
