Lesson 103: Further Sacrifice

March 19th.

Day five into the wilderness of despair (Desperationis). The construction of the base and the surrounding reconnaissance, as well as the replenishment of supplies, were completed.

Ray joined the scout squad yesterday and is back on base after going about 10km (Kimmel).

Though a thick fog broke out along the way and he lost his sense of direction, he had gained nothing by winged demon spellmasters rising above the fog. But Rays' expression is hard on the fact that the further he goes, the more various traps await him.

Troops of meadow people arrived yesterday evening to store supplies in a food vault built by Ray and Luna.

Although the troops of the people of the meadows were attacked by demons on several occasions, they were reported to have had no problems because they had a system in place that could adequately deal with them.

Last night, key members were assembled and future policies were discussed.

As a result, we conclude that it would be a good idea to create a base similar to this one about twenty kimmels earlier and gradually move on.

It has also been decided to stockpile as much supplies as possible in this "first base" so that there will be no problems with replenishment over time.

In addition to the three Ray, Ashley and Stella, the advance team was selected from the Mercenary Regiment of Markat (Red Arms), two deputy Alberic Aujet and the captain of Regiment III, three from the Beast Troop: Uno, Nuebe and Dies; two from the Lockhart family: Theophilus and Eunice Jakes; a total of fourteen from the Haunted to the Great Haunted Yasperi Mayuri; from the Demonic to the Moon Demon Varma Niska; and from the Winged Demon Asla Volti and his subordinate, Signe Hakala.

Hamish Markat, Elise Nortia of the Moon Demon, Gius Salinas of the Humane Horse (Centaur), and Talvo Kronvar of the Great Ghost are required to command and be removed from their respective units.

Markat Mercenaries (Red Arms) and Ghosts, but they do base security and crusade for the surrounding demons. The command of that unit was to be entrusted to Hamish.

Initially, Hamish insisted that "Lord Tarvo, who binds the Ghosts, is more apt," but Ghosts warriors, including Tarvo, have their respect for Hamish's unmatched fighting power,

"You can't beat Lord Hamish in Non. Your lord should take command."

Tarvo's proclamation to that effect also forced Hamish to take it.

The people of the meadow, led by Gius, return again to the village of Mauki, where they are responsible for supplying supplies.

In addition, the Beast and Demon Troops, as they have done before, fall into the support of each Troop as a scourge.

As for Luna, he has not been in the advance team due to the fact that he has the least physical ability among the Evil God Crusaders, and opposition from Ehlis and other Sokius officials, and Ryan and Ione also remain in the first base as escorts.

The advance team took into account not only combat abilities, but also the balance of skills and race. He is a candidate who can handle as many situations as he can think of, and most are convinced.

Seraphine Lockhart was the only one who complained about this candidate.

"How come I'm not in there? Theo, take his place," he complained to Theo, his twin brother.

"You don't just fight. Shouldn't Serra have Mr. Hamish do the archery here?

When Eunice, who handles Serra well, tells her so, Serra also slaps her hand with a pong and smiles and convinces her to return the palm of her hand, "Well," she said.

"You really like archery," Hamish laughed at the way it was,

"If I have free time, I'll put on an archery. But remember, this is enemy territory."

That being said, I felt that Hamish had been saved, albeit slightly.

He himself will inevitably not be included in the advance party in order to take command of the residual units. I was tempted to send my beloved daughter to a dangerous place in that situation.

I was heartily grateful to Serra for lightly turning that painful thought into a laugh.

With the dawn the advance team set off.

The first ten Kimmels had finished their reconnaissance by yesterday and were able to go well.

However, a sandstorm strikes the area past that point, completely depriving them of their sight.

The Winged Demons could not even rise above them, as they did in the fog, and had to temporarily evacuate (Bibark) to the grip of the ground.

"As always, something happens like harassment," Ray tells Ashley.

"Surely the deeper we go, the more something happens. Even if we prepare ourselves for this, we will be in trouble. You know what it's like to be named desperate by the people of Sochius."

We were avoiding the sandstorm so everyone would lean in, but after about five minutes, the ground suddenly collapsed.

In an instant, it is sucked into a bowl-shaped hole with a diameter of 10 m (melt) and a depth of about five melts.

Varma and the others who could fly rushed to rise, but the unstable scaffolding and half the buried legs were shackled and fell with the Rays.

The sand was cushioned and there was little impact, but more than half of the body was buried in the sand of the salad, unable to move.

Furthermore, the sand is moving as it flows down, gradually burying the body.

The Unos throw hooked ropes to try to escape, but the surrounding ground isn't caught on to whether it's turning into sand either.

"Don't move without darkness!" Ray exclaims.

I remembered how to deal with the bottomless swamp I saw on TV when I was a kid.

"Keep your hands open and your body lying down! I'll fix the ground with magic!

While buried halfway in the sand, Ray turns the sand into stone with his left hand. But the stones that were made were sucked right into the ground, and the scaffolding could not be made.

Yesperi leveled his body as Ray told him. Did that work, the sedimentation rate was clearly falling?

That's where he comes up with something.

"Lord Varma! Climb on my body! You're gonna scaffold me and fly away!

Varma reacted immediately to Yesperi's instructions. A luxurious Moon Demon Varma grabs onto the body of the Great Ghost over three melts tall. A normal person would sink in with her weight, but barely because of the physical difference.

Immediately climbing onto his body, he receives the rope that Uno had and ascends into the sky.

It was stirred by the strong winds of the sandstorm as it came out of the hole, but managed to land successfully, bracketing the rope on a nearby rock.

"This rope is fixed! Throw other ropes too!," Nuebe and Diez each throw a rope. Those two are also bracketed in another rock.

In the meantime Uno escapes from Ant Hell.

Immediately followed by Nuebe and Diez, and even more physically capable Stella, Lazareth and Alberic.

"Dear Arklight!" Uno exclaims.

"What is it!," Ray reacted,

"Secure your body with a rope and use magic in that state! Magic rocks can be thin! Please increase the area!

Ray immediately understood Uno's intentions.

The fact that the sand keeps falling means that there is a cavity in the basement, and I understood that I would put a lid on it to stop the sand flowing there.

In addition, by securing the body with a rope, it does not sink in more than a certain amount. Moving slightly will no longer sink completely, allowing you to move bolder and exercise your magic more extensively than ever before.

When Ray takes the rope out of the storage magic (item box), he wraps it around his body and throws its end up. Stella caught it in one shot and said, "I'm holding it down! shouted."

Ray wastes no time responding to it and soon exercises his magic.

Did Ray's magic work? The sand flow weakens.

In the meantime the Unos pulled up the fallen one after the other. Everyone escapes in about five minutes, except Yesperi.

But it doesn't stop completely and I can't pull up the giant Yesperi.

"Enough about me! I beg of you, Master Luna!

There's no grief on that face, I can even see it feeling bulky, but Ray says, "Don't give up!," he scolds, removes the canvas (campus) for the tent from the item box, spreads it, and then throws it in to smooth it.

The canvas slipped next to Yesperi in a spread state.

"Roll over here! I'll throw the rope, so connect it to the four corners! Lift them up little by little with a dirt wall (Earthwall) as we all pull!

Yesperi also obeys Ray's orders honestly and rolls over the canvas. The thrown rope was further secured to the four corners.

Ray made sure of the rope holding his body in place, then went down to the rinse-bottled hole again. And cast earthwall spells.

With four ropes and a push from the bottom, the body of Yesperi is gradually raised by more than 500 kg (kg).

"Keep it slow!" Ray gave instructions and everyone thought Yesperi's escape would be a success.

But “Desperate Wilderness (Desperationis)" was not sweet.

Suddenly, Yesperi said, "Ooh!," he roared, pulling through a giant sword as long as two or five melts, which was fixed on his back.

"Lord Ray, run!" When he shouts, he holds the sword backwards and protrudes into the sand.

I had no idea what had happened, including Ray.

Shortly thereafter, however, the sand beneath Yesperi bulges wide. Yesperi sticks his sword out again and again, while being swallowed up by its sandy mountains.

Ray's eyes showed the demon Yesperi fights. It was a demon with huge scissor-shaped fangs as long as three melts.

"Man-eater!" and Varma shouted,

"Asura! Signe! Cover me with magic!

Orders his men to unleash the magic of the Fire Arrow.

Ray tried to cover him on the spot, but said, "Pull Master Arklight up!" Lifted out of the sand at the behest of Uno.

"Lord Yesperi! After shouting, he releases an arrow of light (shining arrow) to magically cover him.

But the demons in the sand were powerless in fire arrows and light arrows.

Yesperi's body had already sunk in more than half and his upper body was just visible. Whenever I move further, my body sinks.

"Ghah!" Yesperi spits a lot of blood. A giant demon fang was pinching his torso.

"Lord Yesperi!" The cry of Ray echoes.

I thought about using powerful magic such as "Lightning", but if you shoot in, it's imperative that you do damage to Yesperi as well.

"Damn! Not yet!"

Yesperi screams so with blood scattered, he squeezes his full strength and puts his sword between Maneater's fangs.

The attack also seemed to have worked on the man-eater, with huge fangs wide open and Yesperi escaped custody.

Maneater opened and closed his fangs twice before sinking straight into the sand.

Yesperi, who stabbed a stop at the demon, is holding his sword and stopping his movement.

"Help Lord Yesperi! Put me down!

Ray rides himself out screaming. Ashley holds it down.

"Calm down. Lord Yesperi is already dead. Besides, we're not gonna make it down there in time."

With that word Ray loosened his power.

Shortly thereafter, Yesperi's body disappeared completely into the sand.

"Lord Yesperi..."

Ray looks up into the sky when he squeals his name. The sandstorm, which was so intense, had disappeared like a lie, and the blue sky was spreading.

Once Yesperi offers a silent prayer for the inhaled hole, Ray pushes his emotions to death and gives instructions to everyone.

"We'll leave when we recover the rope and the tent. Be more vigilant than ever."

It was clear to everyone that Ray was doing what he was forced to do. But I will not speak of it, but will follow its orders silently.

"Then I'm leaving!," Ray declared, and the advance team began to walk.

Just before leaving, Varma stares at the hole where Yesperi was swallowed up.

The race was, to a different extent, a comrade of war who acted together in an escape from the Periclitle offensive.

(There was no one more loyal to Master Luna than you. You must have lost your life here carelessly. After that, we'll protect Master Luna! Watch us from the presence of the Dark God (Noctis) …)

So when I pray silently for just a moment, I immediately turn forward.

"Lord Varma and the others are on perimeter alert from above," Ray instructed, rising to the sky.

He was then attacked by fire lizards (salamanders) simulating themselves like giant rock golems and chameleons, but not enemies of a thousand advance squads.

When they find a place where the sun is likely to lean around 4 p.m., Ray and Varma petrify the twenty m (melt) square of ground to create a simple base.

"Tonight we'll take turns doing our sleeping shifts. First thing tomorrow morning, Mr Nuebe, Lord Asla and Lord Signe will return to base I and ask Mr Hamish and the others to report on the situation. In doing so, ask Lord Ehlis to transport supplies here. Please ask Lord Signe to guide the Ealis..."

Ray decided to create a second base in this place and himself decided to expand this place with Varma.

"... tell the people of the meadows to turn back to the village of Mauki, with the exception of Lord Gius and the Humans. Along with the fact that this is an order as" White King "... please tell Mr. Hamish to leave early the morning after tomorrow..."

And after the last time you let your gaze shake,

"Tell Lord Tarvo that Lord Yesperi fought valiantly as a Great Ghost Warrior and traveled under the Dark God (Noctis)... we were spared the annihilation thanks to Lord Yesperi..."

The Nueves bow their heads greatly to the word.

Many times that night the undead attacked me. Inside was a high-ranking Necromancer (Rich), but he has defeated Alberic's arrows and Rays without even giving him time to attack them with their magic.

I hardly felt threatened compared to demons and traps until then. So dangerous were demonic raids and ingenious traps on the road.

The next day, Nuebe and the others arrived safely at the first base.

Luna hears of Yesperi's death and exclaims, "Lord Yesperi..."

The death was incredible because it was close to me as a guard until I entered Sochius from Periclitle.

But tears flow from Asura with the words, "I was guided to the end about Master Luna".

Luna thought of Yesperi and, after muttering "Thank you," prayed to the Dark God (Noctis).
