Warhammer, but Emperor's Chosen
Page 195
He's not an Astra Militarum, not even a PDF.
Not long ago, he was just a worker working in a factory.
But now, all living beings on this planet are called upon by the Emperor's Angels.
The few PDFs left on the planet open the arsenal and distribute the weapons to everyone.
They didn't even receive any training, the only things they knew were to pull the trigger to fire a gun and how to change the battery magazine.
The Satyrs had no complaints, for at least they would not have to wait in fear for their own death. They would fight alongside the Emperor's Angels, and in death they would find redemption!
A laser shot out and hit the alien skeleton's narrow skull.
Sartre didn't observe his battle situation, the fierce battlefield did not allow him to be distracted at all. He hid behind the bunker and hurriedly replaced the battery box for the laser gun.
Their battle line originally had two sentry guns, and the twin-mounted laser cannons were much more powerful than their laser guns.
Just one shot is enough to blow those metal skeletons into pieces.
Unfortunately.
As early as the beginning of the war, the sentry gun was easily destroyed by the enemy's rays.
The huge size and thick armor of the sentry gun were meant to protect its output, but now it became the reason for its destruction.
Sartre thought that if it could be smaller and could hide behind cover and shoot, perhaps it could last longer.
But if it is too small, how can it be so powerful?
"God Emperor!"
Sartre muttered to himself as he tried to pop his head out of cover and fire his gun.
boom!
A decomposition ray hit the bunker, and the ceramic steel that could have remained intact even under artillery bombardment was disintegrated in an instant.
Sartre had no time to rejoice or to change his position. His mind was blank, but his finger was still pulling the trigger. Until his finger and the gun were disintegrated by the rays, leaving nothing behind.
Comrades on the same front looked numbly in the direction where Sartre was. Many people did not pay attention to him, but just changed the batteries and joined the battle again.
A few people looked at his laser gun, which had been disassembled, with pity, and murmured to themselves:
"May your soul rest in the Golden Throne."
-----------------
Heavy bombs and laser cannon fire were overwhelming, destroying all enemies in front of them.
The surviving artillery positions also tilted their fury towards the rear positions, but those metal skeletons still attacked the fortress monastery fearlessly. They didn't even look for cover, but just walked straight towards the Empire's defense line.
Open fire when in range, disintegrating human defenses with disintegration rays.
Behind the Necrons, several giant pumice towers suspended in the air were slowly floating forward.
New Necron warriors are constantly jumping out of the emerald green portal to join this endless battle.
They will not stop attacking until they have completely defeated their enemy.
boom!
Alfonso heard a loud noise as a huge Necron, a Scorpion Destroyer, broke through their defenses. Three thick spider legs carried it into the defenses, and PDF was shooting at it in vain with his laser gun.
An Astartes squad was rushing towards him, two Astartes were firing their bolters, and the sergeant drew his chainsword and rushed towards the enemy. But the Destroyer just raised the huge green phase sword indifferently and slashed at the Astartes sergeant rushing towards him.
Snapped!
Alfonso thought it would be an evenly matched match, and he had enough confidence in his battle brothers.
He guessed right, but only half right.
The chainsword successfully blocked the phase sword's slash, and his battle-brother didn't even take a step back.
But the next second, the green phase sword directly cut off the single-molecule chain of the chainsaw sword, cutting it in half in the blink of an eye. The blade of the chainsaw sword shattered, but the Astartes officer didn't even have time to be shocked.
Because the phase sword had cut through his power armor from head to waist as easily as a hot knife through butter.
His upper body slid off his body at an angle, the cut was extremely clean, blood splattered, and his internal organs were scattered all over the ground.
The two remaining Space Marines immediately changed their strategy, with one of them continuing to suppress the fire with bolter shells.
The other quickly discarded his bolter, drew his chainsword and bolt pistol, and rushed towards the Destroyer while shooting, until a strange green light hit him. His breastplate disintegrated under the dazzling light, along with the flesh and internal organs protected by the power armor, everything disappeared like sand.
boom!
His battle-brothers lay on the ground, the Necrons were pouring in from the breach, countless mortal soldiers in the battle line were slain in terror by the Necrons' disintegration rays.
"retreat!"
Alfonso closed his eyes in pain and gave an order in a hoarse voice, "Everyone, retreat to the second line of defense!"
-----------------
"They're dead."
The battle barge's captain commented, "Us too, Master Parcher."
The third captain of the Angel of the Dead, Pacher, remained silent. The captain continued:
"Our fleet will soon be annihilated by the enemy, and there will be no survivors. It turns out that our resistance is futile, sir, and you should understand that. We cannot break the enemy's shield, and it is useless to continue struggling."
"So?" asked the Astartes Captain.
“So, we only have one way left.”
The gray-haired captain took off his hat, and a slightly moved look appeared on his old face. "I have served this ship and the Angel of the Dead for one hundred and forty-eight years. I was supposed to retire in two years. But..."
He smiled and said self-deprecatingly, "God Emperor, if I leave here, I really don't know what I can do! The Military Affairs Department said that they would send me to the Garden World to retire, where I would have my own manor and tens of thousands of servants to serve me. I have only seen this kind of luxurious life in my dreams. However, I probably won't have such an opportunity anymore."
He put his hat back on, his expression gradually became calm, and he said softly:
"We only have one chance, sir. I will get you close enough, but after that it's all up to you. As for the sirs on the other two ships..."
He paused. "If they are lucky, they may live to board the ship. But I think they will die, and die in vain. So forgive me, sir."
"You were only doing your duty, Captain Asante."
Parcher said calmly, "Now, it's time for us to die."
He turned and headed towards the hangar, where his battle-brothers were waiting for him.
Waiting for the final boarding.
