"You better put that thing, Miss. That's not a toy for fooling around." The small man put his gun to the ground without taking his eyes off the woman in front of him.

The woman cupping her right hand with her left hand so that the hand holding the gun stopped shaking. "Who are you? What do you want? I don't know you." Ling Yue aimed the gun in her hand right at the man opposite her.

After she passed out and was taken away from Zou Ci, Ling Yue regained consciousness a few minutes later. Half of her body lay in the back passenger seat. Ling Yue did not move and only watched the two people in the front seat.

One person sit behind the wheel and the other sit beside him. Ling Yue pretended to close her eyes if she felt they were paying attention. Her mind was filled with various worst-case scenarios. Worse than when she was herded into an empty alley a few years ago. Anxiety and fear ambushed her every second. Just then Ling Yue looked at one of them carelessly putting his gun between the emergency brakes. Ling Yue impulsively grabbed the gun which made the other two people look surprised.

The gun, which turned out to have been unlocked, exploded when the man in a passenger seat reacted to Ling Yue's actions and the bullet hit his right abdomen.

"Damn it!"

As soon as that man's handle was released, Ling Yue pulled the trigger once more. Fresh blood spurted from the man's left chest and tainted her cheek. Ling Yue instantly pointed the still-smoky snout at the driver's head next to him.

"Pull over!" Ling Yue pressed the gun. The driver quickly lost his chance because he was still shocked at what had just happened. Inevitably he pulled over.

"Listen miss, I just want to escort you—"

"Get out!"

Ling Yue pushed him and followed closely before took distance when they were outside.

"Your gun. Put it on the ground." Ling Yue could not see him clearly. Her vision blurred. The back of her neck hurts. She was only able to capture that man shadow in front of her with her yukbody trembled.

That man paid attention to Ling Yue. He knew this woman was not a good shooter, he just needed to buy time until his partner car's caught up.

"Our boss just wants to talk to you, Miss. So you don't need to worry."

Ling Yue didn't reply. Her body was still shaking. She gasping for breath.

"Miss?" That man squinted.

"Do - don't move. I just want to go home." Ling Yue's voice cracked. "Please ... let me go."

No one would shoot at her and Zou Ci if they just wanted to talk. Ling Yue could not think clearly.

"I said don't move ..."

Ling Yue saw the shadow in front of her sway.

He took the chance and leapt forward. His hand tried to grab the gun in Ling Yue's hand. Ling Yue did not give up. This was the only shield for her.

"Aaaagghhh!"

Ling Yue bent down, her whole inside seemed to rise to her throat as the man punched her stomach.

"Damn it! Why haven't you let it go!"

He kicked her leg. Ling Yue's body fell down but her hands were still holding onto her hopes.

"You insolent woman! How dare you kill Jin! I will kill you too! I don't care if boss mad at me!"

He turned the handle of Ling Yue's hand and pulled the trigger.

"Aaarrrhhh....."

The explosion of the gun penetrated her left arm. Fresh blood seeped out littering her blouse.

"Wh-what? You leech! Still haven't let go?!!"

The man getting more and more arbitrary. He kicked Ling Yue again. She resisted his attacks with all her might. Ling Yue was thrown when the man kicked her stomach hard one more time.

"Ha! Finally! Now get ready to go to hell!"

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

"Hoeekk ... hoeeekk ..."

Ling Yue let go of the gun in her hand and vomited all of her insides when she saw the man in front of her collapsed. When he kicked her, Ling Yue had fallen near the man's gun before.

"Hoeekkk ..."

Ling Yue raised herself to sit beside the car. The intensity of her fear and panic increased. The next second she knew was that the shadow in front of her collapsed at the same time the gun exploded.

"N-no ... What-what am I doing?"

Ling Yue kneeled on the ground. Her hands pressed to the road. She repeatedly blinked. Hope what happened were only a dream.

But she couldn't sit for long. She had to move because she had no idea when their friends would catch up and catch her again.

Ling Yue staggered. Crying wouldn't solved her problem but her tears continued to flow. She was scared. She wanted to go home. The faces of her brothers crossed her mind. She was sure they would find her.

Like in the past.

However badly she was injured, they would always appear and save her. Then a face popped up between her brother's.

Xi Jian.

Ling Yue wanted to meet him soon. Ling Yue was sure he would also try to find her. She took a deep breath and turned her head many times. Afraid that the people she shot were still alive and tried to chase her back.

She avoided the highway and chose a side road among bushes. She couldn't let herself be caught again whatever the reason.

Ling Yue looked at the road that felt endless. She walked like forever. She didn't know where she was. The world squeezed her. Her arm has gone numb. Her legs were no longer able to step properly. Her body swayed but she insisted to keep walking.

She still could walking a few meter ahead before her surroundings became dark. Ling Yue let herself return to abyss of the darkness. At least, it made her feel safe and protected.
