–Afternoon

“Oh! They’re doing it!”

“The upperclassmen are really getting into it.”

When we went out to the ground field, it was already full of students practicing here and there, which made Ryuuze and Urka excited. Of course, just like the harvest festivals, I love this kind of thing, so I naturally get excited.

Now, as for practice, the ground field that everyone uses at the academy is quite large, and it’s not too cramped for about a hundred people to practice on. In addition, the gymnasium that was used for the entrance ceremony is also open to the public and can accommodate fifty people.

However, each grade has five classes of fifty students, which adds up to two hundred and fifty students for each grade.

So today, Me, Ryuuze, Kudelica, and Makina were on our way to rent the guild’s training grounds for some magic-free combat training with Tigre-sensei.

In addition, Urka and Luciel, who are participating in the throwing competition, also came along.

“In the end, Luciel got 10,000 beryls, the all-you-can-stuff, and the throwing competition.”

“Yeah. I’m sure I can manage if it’s just throwing!”

Luciel laughs as she said it. I hadn’t been able to talk to her lately, so I thought I’d give occasionally continue our conversation across the ground field.

“Where’s Luciela?”

“Sis makes an effort to win in times like this. I think that’s why she’s staying in class today.”

I remember last year, when I was cheering for my brother, I felt like a light blue hair was dashing in the school race. I wonder if it’s because of the [Amplify Boost] physical enhancement? Then, Kudelica intervenes.

“I’m a little happy because your big sister is just like me. I can only increase my strength, but your big sister can do many things.”

“Yes. She said she can boost her strength, speed, and a little bit of her magic power. It’s a lot more practical than my [Jewel Master].”

When Luciel said that, Urka said excitedly.

“No, it’s not! I thought my [Spiritual Art] was useless, but it’s not! It definitely means something!”

“Is that so? Yeah, thank you Urka!”

I opened my mouth to ask if I should encourage her too.

“It will help your father and maybe you can become a jeweler. You could be a jeweler, a woman merchant who doesn’t tolerate fakes! Something like that.”

“A-A woman merchant …… but, it might be nice! Fufufu, that sapphire is glass, huh ……”

I don’t know why, but Luciel fixes her glasses and makes a smug face, and Makina blurts out and holds her mouth with her hand.

“Ahaha, Is that an imitation of Verna-sensei? She always does that after she explains the magic!”

“Yeah, Verna-sensei is cute! Isn’t she, Tigre-sensei.”

“…… Yeah”

When Luciel spoke to Tigre-sensei, he turned away and muttered quietly. And then Ryuuze laughs and says to me.

“Hey look, Tigre-sensei’s ears are beet red, Lars. I didn’t think he’s embarrassed …… with that face!??”

“That’s Ryuuze’s fault.”

“Yeah.”

“Hmm, okay, let’s do it quickly. I’m Since Verna-sensei is looking out for Helena and the others, we have to train ourselves well. Especially Ryuuze.”

“Gueh …… that’s not practice ……”

We laughed, patted Ryuuze on the shoulder as he groaned, and made our way to the guild.

We arrived shortly after and were greeted by Gibson-san with a smile as we entered the guild.

“Hello!”

“Welcome, Lars-kun. Oh, if you’re all together, it’s about the guild club I guess?”

“No, we’re practicing for the competition today. Do you mind if we borrow the training ground?”

“Oh, it’s that time of year already. Of course you can, Lars-kun and the others are the first to go.”

Then, in the back, Hauzen-san and another man in full gear arrive.

“Oh, Lars. You’re looking good!”

“Yeah, so you’re here today?”

“…… Yeah …… I’ve been busy …… I can’t even get a wife like this ……”

While we were laughing at Hauzen-san’s frequent business trips, a man opened his mouth. He has blond hair cut short and is quite a cool guy.

“If it’s the guild, I’m sure you’ll very popular. Oh, I’m Mash, nice to meet you. It’s been a while since I’ve been back, but have the kids been hanging around?”

“Don’t say that, these guys are pretty good, you know, because they–“

“Well, I hope they don’t bother us. What? Training? I don’t have anything else to do today, so can I watch?”

We bowed our heads and said, to Mash-san’s less-than-pleasant tone.

“It’s no problem. It may not be very interesting, though.”

“Haha, you’re right. Let’s go, then.”

Mash-san went to the training area first. Then Mr. Hausen said to us.

“I’m sorry. He’s not a bad guy, but his mouth is bit, you know. Can I also watch you guys?”

“Of course, Hauzen-san! Okay, Tigre-sensei, let’s go.”

“Tch, I know we’re just kids, but…”

I pushed Ryuuze to get to the training ground. We stood in the corner of the training area, dressed in the equipment we had brought with us. There were other people training for fights and magic, and I saw a few familiar faces. When they see us, they smile and wave at us.

“What do we do now? Why don’t we just see how they fight in tandem?”

Tigre-sensei crossed his arms and said what I had been thinking.

“Er, I think I want to fight you, Tigre-sensei. Seriously.”

“…… Are you serious, Lars?”

“Yes. My [Jack-of-all-Trades] is more meaningful the more I work at it, so I think fighting is definitely not a waste of time.”

“B-But, teacher is really strong ……”

Next to Makina’s concern, Mash-san snickered at me.

“What, your skill is [Jack-of-all-Trades]? Wow, that’s pitiful. That girl is right, you shouldn’t do that. It’s a skill that you won’t be able to do much with when you grow up anyway, and it would be silly to get hurt, right?”

“…… I –“

“Hey, don’t give my students any of that crap, okay? Will you fight me then, huh?”

When I tried to argue, Tigre-sensei replied first. Really, you’re such a good teacher. Then Mr. Mash shoulders lowered and said.

“No, no, no, I’m an experienced adventurer, so I’m not going to fight with the teachers of the academy. Ahhh, looks like I dampened the mood. I’ll just shut up and watch.”

“Hey, Mash! You’re talking too much.”

What a sarcastic person, I thought, and Hauzen-san got angry. But he didn’t seem to take offense and replied.

“That’s irritation. Lars is definitely stronger than him.”

“It’s fine, Ryuuze. I’m sure Ryuuze’s magic sword would be pretty amazing too.”

As we were laughing, Tigre-sensei said to me, holding a wooden sword.

“I’m going to do my best not to lose to a guy like you, Lars.”

“Yes, please do!”

As we set up our weapons, onlookers began to gather.

“Oh, what’s that?”

“Lars, isn’t it? Who’s that?”

“That’s the teacher. I’ve seen him before.”

“That’s interesting, let’s look over here. Look, there’s Ryuuze and Makina.”

“Ehehe, hello.”

“Hi!”

In the friendly atmosphere of the training hall, I went towards Tigre-sensei.
