Iris' heart thumped louder and louder in her chest. She thought it would beat right out of her chest from her sheer fright.

Iris felt as if she were falling into a bottomless chasm.

'How could this be?' she thought.

Walton Mu's voice was full of resentment. "What the hell have you done? It wasn't supposed to be this way! You ruined my future!" he shouted.

Iris trembled in fear at Walton Mu's anger. She was terrified of him now, but she could also understand him.

Iris was interrupted by Walton Mu before she could finish her words.

"What are you talking about? Don't tell me not to worry! The school has expelled me! How can I be calm about that? Iris, I don't know what's going on with you and frankly, I don't care! But don't involve me in your messes! Understand?"

Iris could barely hold her tears back now. She could not bear arguing with her own brother about this. It felt as if they were falling apart.

Iris had sacrificed so much just to help her brother fulfill his dreams. She had endured so much abuse from Faye just to help him enroll in the music school.
