Veronica out of habit, languidly tapped her nails on her desk while still lost in thought after she read the report Zero had given her earlier.

Norverto Yan indeed has power and influence but how could he still be able to pull off the scheme. The due process of law was being strictly uphold in City I and to think that her father, Eddie Wang, has clean records over the years was draged to the mud of a graft and corruption case. Although the news reached in Country R that the case against her father was then dismissed but her parents and her were no idiots not to realized that the scheme was just soley formulated by Norverto Yan.

First, Norverto Yan was nothing more, nothing less but a bald, big bellied, foul-mouth middle age man. It's all that. She used to at least have a little respect for the man as he was the current City I Governor that time but years later, she realized that really, nothing is great about him. And if one won't try to understand the former mayor's personality and character on a critical level, one would just think that he was rsponsible for scheme against her father but no. The man could not just pull it off.

Her father's record was clean through the years so where did all those fake transactions and dummy accounts came from? How could he pulled it off. She can even tell that that tbe scheme wasn't thoroughly planned as she could now point out some loophole for example, how her father, who was a mere vice governor that time could even handle those transactions which wasn't even under his functions and obligations? That's just plain stupid.

Veronica is sure of it now, Norverto Yan was nothing but just a scapegoat. Someone was really manipulating from behind the scenes, pulling the strings to destroy her father. But then who? And why?

She was engrossed in her thoughts when her phone rings. She checked it and saw Rose calling her. Knowing that her cafe was soon to open and her international corporation law firm was near to be established, Veronica smiled purely as she thought how big Rose helped her. She can managed to if left alone but Veronica values practical lifestyle that helping hands from friends are very much welcome for her.

'Rose, hello!' Veronically greeted happily.

'Vivi....'

Veronica then straightened her back after hearing the distress on her friend's voice. 'Hey, were you crying?? What happened?!'

'No, I'm okey now. I just called to check-'

'Rose, ' Veronica sternly said, ' yes, years have passed without any connection between us but I know very well this habit whenever you are facing a problem with your father. What is it this time?' The thought of Rose's father boiled Veronica's blood.

Rose was silent for minutes before answering. 'Can we meet?'

'Where are you?' Veronica asked calmly trying to soothe Rose at least throught that for the meantime.

'I'm still at the office. We could-'

'No, just stay there. I'll go there myself.' Veronica then dropped the call and hurried out of her office.

Rose on the other hand, although feeling conflicted, could only twitched her mouth with her friend's antic of cutting or dropping the call just to put forward her desired end of the conversation. A beautiful smile appeared on Rose's face after realizing that finally, her to go friend is back.

She proceeded to call her secretary to inform the reception area of accomodating ad bringing Vivi in her office.

Rose had just finished instructing her secretary when her private phone rings. Only the numbers appeared on the phone's screen but already has an idea of who might the caller be.

Rose eyebrows furrowed as she declined the call and was about to block the number, [she had been doing that for countless of times already over the past days after the International Business Conference she attended] when she reveived a message from that same number that reads, 'I've been nothing but patient to you sweetheart. You either answer the call or your little company won't be able to see the sunrise tomorrow, your choice.' Rose body trembled as she closed her eyes in emotional agony.
