"How does he manipulate these things..... better yet how does he create them?" asked Rui Fei genuinely curious. From the sea creatures to the centipede and this, there was obvious evidence of tampering. This person had the ability to manipulate animals and create beasts unknown to man and nocru alike. 

"Check its aether," said Ji Yao in a commanding tone as he stood up after dropping the head he was holding. Rui Fei who had never checked anyone's aether was stupefied in place.

Ji Yao having not received a response looked at him as though saying, 'What are you waiting for?' Rui Fei immediately answered, "How do I do that?"

"Cut it open on the lower dantian then take it out," he explained seeming unbothered by what he said.

Rui Fei on the other hand had questions and lots of them. Like had he done this before or maybe watched it happen. Rui Fei had been through so much and definitely had a hidden dark side and that was fine but Ji Yao was meant to be the pure one.

Well, at least in his mind. Those hands couldn't possibly have touched filthy things like these. He couldn't take his eyes of Ji Yao with all these thoughts spinning around in his mind. His expression was normal but his eyes on Ji Yao seemed a bit roguish.

Ji Yao who had been busy studying the corpses about the size of a small hill turned around only to find Rui Fei looking at him. This time his eyes had him feeling like Rui Fei was up to no good. It was as though Rui Fei was wearing x-ray glasses stripping him bare.

"What are you looking at?" he asked his feelings complicated. He now understood why Rui Fei bit him in his dream. It wasn't because he thought he was eating meat, it was because he (Ji Yao) was the meat. This idiot wanted to..... um..... what's the word? Let's just say Rui Fei isn't vegan.

Now that he knew that it made him feel like just taking off and running away. He was more terrified of that look now that he knew the meaning.

"You have done it before?" asked Rui Fei but because of what Ji Yao was thinking earlier Rui Fei's question was misunderstood.

"No....Why would you even ask me that, like seriously what are you thinking in that head? Get your mind out of the gutter," he said feeling his face heating up. He hadn't even figured out what he felt towards Rui Fei now he was being asked about....

Rui Fei who had just been scolded for no apparent reason got suspicious. What 'mind out of the gutter'? His question was about the situation at hand so how was it a dirty thought? That's when it hit him. He was the pure and innocent one but this senior of his was definitely swimming in the gutter.

Being stared at like that with a sly smile, Ji Yao knew he had fucked up real bad. He pressed his lips into a thin line and looked away but having Ji Yao in such a tight spot Rui Fei wouldn't let him go.

He ambled over his steps a little intimidating and stood in Ji Yao's line of sight. He lowered his head with a slight tilt and bit his lower lip gazing at Ji Yao's red ears. "What did you think I was asking?" he said with a husky charming voice you would think he is talking to his girlfriend.

Ji Yao's eyes were shifty and not once did he look at Rui Fei straight in the face. He had to come up with something fast otherwise he would lose even more face. He bit Rui Fei while wasted and laid claim on him scaring even Big Hei. He also held his hand tightly and asked him not to leave. If he didn't lose face then, he would most definitely lose face now.

Feeling like Rui Fei's tail was going to grow longer if he doesn't cut it off now, he took out a sapphire dagger sharp enough to cut through latrion and looked him dead in the eye. With a set smile he ordered, "Get cutting," his eyes unblinking.

When he said this Rui Fei's heart jolted, it felt like a threat but for some reason, he was so giddy inside like he had received the noble peace prize. A radiant smile appeared on his face as he reached out to take the dagger away. But just as he touched it Ji Yao shifted his hand away and said, "Be careful," before placing it into his hand. Well, if this isn't flirting then we all need to get our eyes fixed.

Rui Fei was beaming as he walked over to one of these filthy beasts. He would butcher that lizard snake beast with confused genetics as long as it got him on Ji Yao's good side.

He crouched down, pulled up his sleeve and placed the tip of the dagger where he was supposed to cut but unfortunately, the term dantian was foreign to him.

He couldn't figure out where to cut despite having an aether himself. Not wanting to appear stupid he checked Ji Yao's expression from his peripheral view. He was looking for a slight change in expression but the man was really stingy.

He didn't flinch even a little refusing to give him a clue. Rui Fei moved it again and again but he was ignored. It was just about time to admit defeat when Ji Yao finally approached. He placed his hand over Rui Fei's and guided him on where to cut. If one was to see this scene they would think they were a couple cutting their wedding cake together.

If it wasn't for the chaotic battle going on and corpses everywhere you would think it was the happiest day of their lives. Ji Yao was tutoring him on how to be a butcher..... oh sorry, I meant how to be a forensic scientist but Rui Fei wasn't listening at all.

He was suppressing a smile of victory. If this wasn't a sign then what else could it be? It's too bad the beast wasn't as big as the centipede from earlier otherwise this beautiful scene would last forever. Ji Yao let go of his hand and crouched down beside him and said, "Open it up and stick your hand in there."

Rui Fei, "....."

"Go on," said Ji Yao again when he realised Rui Fei was lagging.

"I can't.... I mean it is disgusting and sticky," replied Rui Fei genuinely disgruntled. He had completely forgotten what he had said to himself before. He had said to himself that he would dissect anything to be in Ji Yao's good side. Well, he surely changed his mind pretty fast.
