Chapter 206 - Love Rivals At Odds 2

Ji Yao who had little to no experience dealing with other people's emotions raised his head to address the issue about the palm print on Rui Fei's face last night but he swallowed back his words when he saw purple-green bruises on Xiaoyu's neck.

She hadn't even made an effort to conceal it. With a radiant smile, she continued to place some vegetables in his side bowl talking incessantly. Maybe this was her plan to expose Rui Fei's true nature?

Ji Yao was indeed alarmed by the bruises Rui Fei left on her body. It seemed Rui Fei and Xiaoyu had got into a serious conflict last night that resulted in that terrible bruise. It seemed of the two she had it much worse. Rui Fei had walked away with a palm print on his face while she had a nasty looking bruise on her neck.

Ji Yao swallowed the words at the tip of his tongue before glancing back at the map. "You don't have to do this," he said without raising his head.

Her actions paused as she observed him. She was seriously trying to understand his meaning. Ji Yao seemed to understand what was going on in her mind so he explained further, "You don't have to bring me food."

Xiaoyu almost dropped the chopsticks in her hand as she eyed him with a look of bewilderment. She could understand why he was saying this. She had spent the entire night crying in her bed while Rui Fei spent the night whispering into Ji Yao's ears so of course, Ji Yao's point of view was biased.

She had expected this but she didn't expect it to happen so quickly. Rui Fei had his nails dug deep in Ji Yao's skin which meant he had so much more influence than she did. Deciding to rip off a page out of Rui Fei's playbook she began to act shamelessly.

"Yao-ge, I have brought you breakfast ever since I stepped on Red Bane but now you are telling me not to leaving a void in my life that needs to be filled..... If I can't bring you food should I be bringing it for Rui Fei instead?" Her expression seemed innocent but her words were extremely provocative.

She wanted to sow discord between the two of them which wasn't an easy task to do. Ji Yao understood her reasoning but putting Rui Fei's feelings into consideration he said, "No, don't... and my priorities have changed. Rui Fei is my priority so please don't bring food for me as he might misunderstand.".

Xiaoyu dropped her chopsticks at this point and stared at Ji Yao with a bewildered expression. She couldn't believe it. Rui Fei had overtaken everyone on this ship and taken priority in Ji Yao's heart. This had her heart bleeding in pain.

At this moment, she suddenly lost her emotions as she began to drag Rui Fei through the mud.

"Yao-ge, how can you say that? He is a manipulative bastard with a black heart darker than his father's. After all that torment he went through the past sixteen years in that dungeon do you actually think he is normal?"

"I know he is charming and nice to look at but that's a mask. His true nature is as vile as his father's and he is undeserving of your attention. Look, look what he did to me last night," she said further exposing the bruise on her neck.

Her voice suddenly became brittle as she said, "He threatened to kill me," with her eyes shimmering with tears.

"He is nothing good Yao-ge, he can only bring you endless pain and suffering. Trust me." Her heartfelt speech ended there because the door was suddenly pushed open and her body was struck by an ominous feeling.

Behind her stood the very same person she was talking shit about and he wasn't at all happy about it. He had overslept mainly because Ji Yao's scent had a sedative effect on him.

He could have immediately gone to Ji Yao after waking up but because he was pursuing him he decided to dress up so he can capture his target with his dashing looks but who would have thought some opportunist would take advantage of his absence and blacken his name. It seemed she hadn't learnt anything from yesterday's experience.

"Why am I nothing good, huh? Last night you deliberately provoked me and slapped me across the face for no good reason and today you are speaking ill of me behind my back... What have I done to offend you that you come at me like that?"

The aggrieved tone in Rui Fei's voice as he said this was unmistakable. Though he was obviously acting pitiful to discredit Xiaoyu he managed to soften Ji Yao's heart.

In fact, rather than calling it 'softening his heart' it's best to say Ji Yao had already made up his mind to back up Rui Fei no matter how ridiculous the charges against him were.

"Oh my gosh, you are such a great actor. Yao-ge, yes I confronted him yesterday but look," she said further pulling down her collar, "he dangled my body overboard and threatened to kill me. He is a cold-blooded killer with a black heart, tru-."

"Enough!" replied Ji Yao feeling a headache coming up. He rubbed his temples before saying, "You shouldn't have picked a fight with him in the first place. Keep a distance from him from now on." Ji Yao's words on this ship were the rule of law and Xiaoyu had no other choice but to obey.

She was unhappy with the result but she had no other choice but to accept it. With a lowered head she dazedly looked at the floor as Ji Yao scolded her.

Just when she thought she had lost the battle Ji Yao suddenly said, "And you... if you threaten my crew members you should hitch a ride with Lan Wu, do you understand?" talking to Rui Fei.

Rui Fei, "...."

What was he supposed to do? Stand by while a vixen tried to seduce his man. Nope, not going to happen. Next time Xiaoyu provokes him he vowed to leave a wound in a place no one can see.. That way her complaints won't have validation.
