Voyage With The Pirate King

At a debilitated house in the middle of a small town west of the imperial city, a man kicked the door open and staggered into the small kitchen causing a raucous. He tripped on everything in that kitchen as he cursed under his breath. From his behaviour alone one could tell he was drunk as a skunk but somehow he managed to find his way home.

Having fallen so many times he finally gave up after bumping into the table. He lay on the floor chuckling like he had lost his mind. His vision was slowly getting blurry falling into a deep slumber but before his vision darkened he saw a woman dressed in a dark green robe embroidered at the hem with gold leaf patterns.

She crouched down before him and observed him as though studying a fat pig at the market. Her lustrous green hair hung down shimmering under the faint moonlight. "So pretty," he mumbled as he reached out to touch it but he started seeing doubles and could only touch air.

That night he dreamt the same dream as always. He dreamt himself falling into the dark abyss with latrion chains coiling around his limbs and waist pulling him down faster. As always he cried out for help, begging for someone to save him but like other times no one came to his aid.

Just when he was about to resign to his fate a beauty with emerald eyes stretched out her hand and grabbed his wrist with a smile before pulling him up. He suddenly felt this dream wasn't so bad after all. As long as this beauty would come to rescue him each time he had this nightmare then it would be perfect.

A bright smile crept up his face but before he could fully indulge in this moment he suddenly felt like he was drowning. His nose and lungs were on fire like he was being tortured. He abruptly sat up and coughed violently with his body drenched in water.

The clattering sound of an empty bucket being thrown away attracted his attention. He instantly became vigilant reaching out for his weapon but after feeling his side for it he couldn't find it.

"Looking for this," said a soft gentle voice that could tug at any warm-blooded man's heartstrings.

He abruptly looked up only to find the beautiful goddess from his dream standing there with his ring sword hovering next to her with a faint green light. He was about to speak when his own weapon was aimed at his neck silently rotating closer like it was going to slice his neck.

He tilted his head back as his eyes flashed with a hint of mischief. "Dying in the hands of such a beauty would be an honour," he said with his adam's apple almost brushing against the sharp edge of the ring sword.

Xiaoyu sat on the only proper chair in the room as her lips twitched in disdain. With one leg crossed over the other she said, "This is why you are the less popular of the three brothers," with her gaze looking down at her thumb rubbing against her index finger. An air of superiority surrounded her like she was a supreme being and the rest were like ants beneath her feet but he didn't care.

He had seen much more arrogant ladies ever since he left that dungeon. "What? Do you know my younger brothers?.... I might be less popular but I am the most handsome of the three of us," he said in an arrogant tone.

Xiaoyu slowly raised her gaze and sneered. He was the least dazzling of the three of them but he was the most useful in bringing down one of them. "Rui, Pianzi.... while your siblings conquer the seas with the pirate king making a name for themselves you.....," she said as she got up slowly and stooped before him,

"become a useless waste that scams people out of their money so you can get your next fix. You were exposed to the same terrible environment, suffered the same treatment but what has become of you, the oldest?"

Rui Pianzi clenched his fist on the side of his robe as he gazed into her enchanting eyes. He had heard about his siblings' brave conquests and how they had acquainted themselves with the infamous Pirate King whilst he was struggling to run away from his relentless father who had picked him as his next target since he couldn't get to Rui Fei and the others.

Each time he settled down and tried to start something for himself he would get pursued relentlessly and escape by the skin of one's teeth. After being hunted down thousands of times his resentment towards his siblings grew stronger and stronger.

He sank deeper into his nightmares slowly descending into this chaotic path. Haunted by his dreams he began to drink the strongest of liquors to drown his sorrows. But because of his status as a half Nocru, his tolerance to regular liquor was too high so he was forced to purchase serpent's kiss which was too expensive for him. To feed his expensive habits he resorted to unscrupulous methods.

His quiet life of farming in a fishing village had completely vanished and he was forced to live such a dreadful life while his siblings were having the best time of their lives. He resented each and every one of them. Mentioning them just enraged him.

"What do you want," he said with the playfulness from before completely vanished without a trace.

Having drawn him in she withdrew his weapon from his throat and said, "What I want is simple. I need Rui Fei out of the picture and in return, you will get enough money to feed your addiction." After saying this she got up and sat back down with a smug smile.

Rui Pianzi stared at her for a moment scrutinizing her. Xiaoyu didn't mind. He could stare all he liked as long as he didn't touch her bottom line. After staring for a very long time he suddenly broke into obnoxious laughter. Xiaoyu could stand the scrutinizing gaze but she couldn't stand being laughed at.

She kept a straight face but she secretly clenched her jaw. Annoyed she looked away letting him laugh to his heart's content and when he was done she vowed to slaughter him like a pig.

"Hahaha, hooo..... let me guess. He dumped you and you have come to me for help?... I don't involve myself in a lovers spat," he said while brushing the tip of his nose with his finger.

Xiaoyu grabbed whatever she could find and hauled it at Rui Pianzi striking him right in the face. His head tilted to the side resenting his siblings even more.. Not only did Rui Fei ruin his life, he now had his ex coming over to haunt him. How can he not be angry?
