The man aimed at her heart.

Cheng Xiu ducked out of the way, huffing.

"Have you noticed that you get stronger after every fight?" he asked.

She frowned. "Isn't that kind of obvious? Wouldn't I get stronger the more I fight?"

The man laughed. "Not necessarily."

Cheng Xiu spun away from his jab. "What do you mean then?"

"Have you noticed that every time you leave the White Room, you become stronger?"

Cheng Xiu's mind spun. "What is this place?"

The man smiled. "The physical Representation of your mind, and body. And your Qi."

Cheng Xiu nodded. "So I get stronger after leaving the White Room because I was 'in contact with my inner self?'"

"You sound sceptical."

"Shouldn't I be?"

"It is not because you are in this room that you become more powerful. It is because it is in here that your Attributes are being enhanced by the System."

Cheng Xiu thought for a moment, and then a thought occurred to her. "The thing about how each attribute can be only enhanced a few times before the breakthrough?"

The man nodded. "In the Grandmaster's Battle, you are all put at Level 10. The Level 10 you were at. But since, you, Selafia, was at Level 1 at the beginning, the rules had to be modified. How do you think it was modified?"

Cheng Xiu frowned. "It couldn't be that the slots are all filled, because then the game mechanics would be unfair to the ones who used the Grandmaster Talisman, because some of them would not have filled slots at this level. Some might have never had a chance to fill their slots before they Leveled Up."

The man stabbed her eyes.

Cheng Xiu fell backwards.

The man smirked. "Smart. So, what do you think happened to you? How do you think your powerups are working?"

Cheng Xiu shrugged. "It is obvious then isn't it?"

"Oh?"

Cheng Xiu sighed. "Every player gets 1 point to all their attributes from the system after they have levelled up. This means that no matter how fast you level up, you will get that 1 point for all your attributes. And so, if I am being levelled up, the System will give me that 1 point per level, so if I have only system points, at level 10, I would still get 10 points per attribute."

The man looked at her proudly. "So?"

Cheng Xiu shrugged. "In the first battle, my Level 1 attributes were balanced to 3 per attribute because…why did that happen?"

He smiled. "It is the System's way of compensating you for forcing you to play an Arena Battle."

Cheng Xiu nodded as she got up on her feet. "That seems fair…or advantageous. Let's go with fair, just in case she decides to take it away saying she doesn't want to give me an advantage."

The old man laughed.

Cheng Xiu jumped towards him. "Anyway, as I was saying, So at Level 1, I started at 3 points, and the rest of my attributes for each level would be 1 point each, bringing my total score to 12. But then I gained more points. My current attribute points are at 7 each, so my total scores have gone up to 15. I am becoming stronger not just because of the fights, it's my stat totals. I mean, this was very obvious now that I think of it."

"But you didn't think of it," The Man said. "It is a good thing though. Or else, you would have had a harder time at winning."

Cheng Xiu nodded and was about to strike the man in the neck.

He deflected her blade. "That is why you need to master your fighting style at this level."

Cheng Xiu swung her sword towards his guts. "I need to get used to the Levels now so that when I become more powerful I wouldn't look like a child who did not know why the rice cracker crumbled when I pulled it a bit."

The man looked at her with sparkling eyes. "It is very rare to find a person who just needs a hint to comprehend the truth. Most of the time, people don't understand things even when you explain to them by exposing your soul."

Cheng Xiu's face twisted. That seemed similar to the people who couldn't accept the fact that the Qiless existed too or that they are an abomination.

The man smiled. "The reason I brought this up is that your opponents until now had somewhat of a scattered distribution of attribute points. These players only started to focus on filling their slots after levelling up after they reached level 15 or 20 when they have understood the game mechanics. But the opponent you will face next is similar to you in the point distribution. There is very little difference. You only have a point or two extra, and I am not sure how well you will be able to utilise that advantage."

"Is that why you want me to study the next opponent's fighting power? But how does that relate to the other world?"

The man pursed his lips. "Your next opponent is Frost, and her power in your world was also of the same nature."

Cheng Xiu understood his words. The next user was someone who had Ice Manifestation as their ability in the real world. "I'll keep that in mind."

The man nodded. "Until next time then!"

The man bowed and disappeared.
