Vyr's Journey Through The Multiverse

As the weird vision trip that is Demeter's teleport ended, I looked around so I could tell where I was. Looking around I could see the basement/ hall thing Amber called her apartment. Around me were worn clothes strewn about the place. There were dishes in the sink and empty bottles of alcohol anywhere they could reach. The Tv was on and in front of it was a half dressed Amber sleeping on the couch. She was in a let's say unladylike position.

The sight of the place was like nothing I had seen before. Amber had always come off as a proper lady to me. Her room was always clean and orderly when I had come by before. Hell i had never even seen her drink before. I was almost tempted to say someone else had done this had it not been she was hugging a large bottle in her sleep.

'Still', i thought to myself 'it's good to be back. Now first things first.' I took out my phone and called Ozpin.

(Ozpin)"hello?"

"Oz, it's Vyr. I'm back."

"VYR! You're back! That's great! We didn't know if you would make it! Your departure was so sudden after all!"

*chuckling*"Calm down Oz. Your facade is slipping. Take a breath then we can talk. I'm not leaving again anytime soon."

Ozpin took a breath and calmed himself before continuing in his normal voice "where are you now? Do you need a pick up?"

"Nah i'm at amber's place. This place is a mess by the way. But i need to know something. How long have I been gone?"

"It's been about a week now."

"Shit. ok, that's not great but it will have to do. Listen I will talk about other things later, but for now I need a shower and some rest. How about this we will talk tomorrow or the day after."

"That will work. Do you want me to send you anything? Let me know. Its the least i could do after all you've done."

"I told you to stop worrying about it. But yeah i do need something from you. Where is ruby? I'm worried about her."

Now it was Ozpin's turn to laugh at Vyr "Miss Rose is in class, but I'll send word that I'm sending someone to pull her out."

Vyr smiled "thanks Oz."

"Don't worry about it."

After talking a bit more with Ozpin and getting the location of Ruby's class. I moved Amber from the couch to the bed and made my way to Ruby's classroom. When i got there i got a text from Ozpin saying he already sent the message. I sent him a quick thank you and opened the door to the classroom.

The teacher looked surprised at me as he was still looking at his phone when I opened the door. I respond with "Ozpin sent me." to which he nodded.

While I was justifying my presence, the rest of team RVBYS was surprised at my sudden appearance. After I got the go ahead I walked over to the stunned group and said "Hey guys, we can catch up later today but for now Ozpin needs the team leader." Before they could respond I gave Yang a quick hug and picked up the stunned Ruby and carried her over my head while saying to the room "I'm taking this." while Ruby was even more confused at the sudden turn of events the teacher nodded and let me walk out the door still carrying Ruby.

As i was walking down the hall Ruby had apparently come out of her stupor and started struggling while saying "Vyr! Let me down.!" as it was hard to carry her above my head with her struggling i let her freefall into a princess carry. As she felt herself fall she let out a short yelp of surprise. Now that she was in my arms i could see the redness of her face though i couldn't tell if it was from the yelp she let out or my method of departure. ' though it may be both. The rest of the class did see her get carried away after all.' i thought to myself as i stared at the cute face she was showing.

"Ok ok, calm down. I'll stop laughing."

*huff* "how could you do that? What is everyone going to think? I have other classes today!"

I cut her off and said "Not now you don't. I got Ozpin to exempt you from today's classes. Besides who cares what they think? I mean if they think less of you for something like this, then were they really worth it in the first place."

"I don't- ... mabey? I've been trying all week to be a good leader. Now what will they think of me?"

"The weirdo member of your team who has been missing, just walked into class and took you away?"

She hit me again and said "You're not weird. Just different."

"Different is just a nice way of saying weird." that earned me another hit.

Vyr started laughing again, but this time she was quickly joined by Ruby.

As their laughter died down, Ruby relaxed a bit and leaned more into Vyr as she quietly said "i was worried you know?"

"I know."

"I missed you."

Vyr smiled and hugged the red girl closer to her while saying "I know."

"Did you miss me?"

"More than you could imagine."

Ruby smiled happily at this and asked "what happens now?"

"First i need a shower. After that, you decide. I could care less what we do as long as you're with me."

*giggle* "will you tell me about what happened."

"Anything and everything you could want to know"

The rest of the walk was left in a comfortable silence. Nothing was said as each just enjoyed the presence of the other.

As they arrived at their team room Vyr set Ruby down on the bed under hers and got some clothes out of their shared dresser. She started telling Ruby what had happened on her quest and showed her the mental pictures she took. As Ruby was looking over the pictures of things she had seen in Oolacile, Vyr went to take a shower in the room's bathroom while thinking 'thank god we got a room with a bathroom attached. In the show the rooms weren't like this, but like the saying goes "don't look a gift horse in the mouth". Though it begs the question how does that shit work on Pyrrha's team. I mean two guys and two girls in one room? Plus it's obvious Nora likes Ren. I wonder if Pyrrha still likes Juane? Shit i still need to spar with her! Well that's fun on its own. I wonder if her magnet semblance works on my prototype armor. The claws? I mean it is metal. Does it carry charge? Is it insulated? But the sanctuary guardian's lightning went through."

As Vyr was getting more and more off track Ruby noticed people started showing up in the pictures. There was a woman in robe-like armor and some knightley guy. They were soon joined by a wolf. In the pictures there were many of Vyr with the wolf laughing and playing with it while the knight guy looked like an abandoned puppy in the background. There were also a lot of pictures with the woman without her mask and as the pictures went on she basically didn't wear it. This would have bothered her if not for the fact that though the woman was beautiful, in most of the pictures the photo had been taken as she was making weird faces.

As she went to the next section of Vyr stepped out of the bathroom in her undėrwėȧr. She was drying her hair with a towel when a sudden terrified scream rang out. Vyr quickly dropped her towel and rushed to ruby to see if she was alright. When she did she noticed Ruby had started crying and shaking. Looking around to see what it was she stopped as she felt a hand on her stomach.

Looking down she could see ruby crying while running her hand across the scar Artorias's final hit had left. All she was able to think was 'shit' before Ruby asked in a small stuttering voice "H-H-H-How? W-w-why?"

As Ruby looked up at her Vyr sighed and picked up the shaking girl before carrying her to their bed. When she got there she laid down while holding Ruby and comforting her and explained what had made the large scar.

After a long session of explaining and coxing, Ruby stopped crying and fell asleep all the while hugging Vyr and not letting go. Seeing the red beauty's soft breathing Vyr thought 'God I missed her.'. Vyr laid down and held Ruby closer to her. The feeling of peace, warmth, a general sense of "right" made her think 'i dont think I'll ever get tired of this feeling.' As her eyes closed she forced herself to get up when she sighed realizing Ruby was still fully clothed and she herself was still in her undėrwėȧr.

She carefully untangled herself from Ruby's arms and got dressed in some comfortable sleeping clothes. Then she debated with herself over what to do with ruby. After about 10 minutes and some hard moral tests. She woke Ruby up and said "you can't sleep with your clothes on."

(A/N what you thought she would be super creepy and undress Ruby in her sleep? Fuck off. They just started dating. not counting the time she was in Dark souls like two or three days. I don't care who you are, that shit don't fly with me. And yes i know they lived with each other for a few months. i wrote the damn book!)

All she got was a mumbled "urgh"

She helped Ruby by getting her pajamas and putting the girls clothes with the other laundry. After she did she was quickly pulled back to the bed by a tired ruby. This time, much to Ruby's annoyance, neither of them were able to sleep so they talked a bit more.

When Vyr woke up she realized both she and ruby had drifted off while they were talking. Thinking of ruby, Vyr realized she was holding onto the still sleeping girl from behind. She tightened her hold a bit before leaning into ruby's back. Vyr enjoyed the unique scent of roses, cookies, and "light" ruby gave off at any time. The smell always made her relax and feel a sense of comfort few things could bring, Ruby's general presence being one. Not for the first time she though ' i still dont understand how magic/Aura can give off a smell. How the hell is light even a smell?!'

Sadly her happiness was short-lived as not long after Yang burst through the door saying "see i told you they would be here!" she was shortly followed by Blake who shut the door behind her. The two sat down on the bottom bed across from Vyr and Ruby.

'I should shoot her. I do have a gun now. No she is my sister. Rubber bullet? No me still too far. You have to admit it's tempting, she did interrupt out time with ruby. Shut it devil me. Boo *pout*. Did I just pout in my mind to myself? Yep, I definitely need more sleep.'

Ending my inner monalouge i said to yang not getting up "your lucky we are family. Otherwise i would have shot you."

Yang seemed to take this in stride and said " Aww don't be that way sis."

Feeling Ruby try to get up I sighed and gave her one last hug before letting go and sitting up as well. She shot Yang a dirty look and asked "so what do you need? If you couldn't tell we were sleeping."

(Blake)"we wanted to know where you have been."

"yeah after you left Ruby always seemed worried. She would space out and didn't sleep for like three days. She didn't even want cookies!" Yang said with a knowing smirk on her face.

Vyr looked over at Ruby only to see the girl's face bringing a new meaning to the saying "red in the face".

Ruby was giving yang a look that promised eternal torment. when she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist and pull her back against Vyr.

As Vyr wrapped herself around Ruby who she placed in her ŀȧp, she then rested her head on the smaller girl's shoulder and said "It's too bad. I just can't tell you. Ozpin asked me to keep it a secret." while giving a wry smirk to the others.

Yang watched the pair on the bed, Her sister Ruby had a happy yet embarrassed smile on her face. while her other sister Vyr, was swaying a little with a lazy but content smile as she talked with the team. Seeing this brought a smirk to Yang's face as she had long ago called that the two would get together.

(Vyr)"So anything cool happen while I was gone?"

(Yang)"not really no? We had classes, but they were pretty boring. Truth be told i can't remember most of it at all."

(Blake) "that's because you sleep or play games on your phone most of the time."

Yang hearing this just smiled and rubbed the back of her head. Blake sighed at her before saying "We didn't really do anything important. The classes mostly consist of Grim anatomy, history lessons, and sparing/ combat practice. We also have Aura class."

Vyr nodded hearing this and Ruby asked "speaking of Aura. What is your semblance Vyr? You never said."

"I don't have one. Believe it or not i haven't had my Aura unlocked."

Blake looked stunned, while Ruby and Yang thought back and nodded.

(Yang)"yeah i cant remember you ever using it. Now that i think about it."

(Blake)"wait? WHAT!? You can't use aura?"

"I mean yeah?"

While Blake seems to be having a brain freeze, Ruby asks "why not?"

"I never really took the time to do it." Vyr looked to Blake then Yang before continuing "I mean i have magic. So i never really thought of using it."

Blake comes back to reality and asks "magic?"

"Yeah magic. just … that's a conversation for later. I don't want to go into it again. Look ask Yang later, if she thinks your trust worthy i don't mind her explaining it to you."

Ruby switches her position on my ŀȧp as she looks at me and asks "do you want to use aura?"

I shug a bit and ask "do you want me to?"

She seems stumpted at this for a few seconds before she nods excitedly and says "Yes! That way we can be more alike. I can also teach you this time!"

I laugh at her and hug her a bit before teasing her by saying "are you sure it's not just the second reason?"

Ruby blushes and starts hitting me lightly so I hold her arms in place by hugging her.

(Yang)"Aww look at the two lovebirds."

I use one of my arms to make a not so nice gesture at Yang and ask "how long has it been since i pulled Ruby from class?"

(Blake)"around 3 or 4 hours. You two skipped lunch so we thought we would find you so we could eat dinner together."

(Vyr)"where's snow queen by the way?"

They both frown before Blake says" she decided she was too good for us and went off to do her own thing."

(yang) "yeah, the whole time you were gone she kept asking teachers to make her team leader instead of Ruby. If little sis hadn't stopped me I would have stomped her."

Ruby started to diffuse the tension in the air by saying "It's fine yang. I don't even know how i got the leader position in the first place." in a much quieter voice she said "mabey she would be a better leader than me anyway."

When I heard this it pulled me out of my thoughts and i started laughing. Seeing the confused looks of my teammates i struggled to reign in my laughter before saying "You dont really believe that do you?"

Ruby nodded to this which made me frown so i said in a much more serious tone "Never doubt that you should be our leader Ruby. It insults everyone who follows you. Am I correct in ȧssuming neither of you have a problem with Ruby's leading?" seeing Blake and yang both smile and nod i continued "Ruby, you are a great leader. We all believe in you and I know you can do it. Sure you can be a little scatter brained and sometimes you jump the gun, but you always listen to those around you. You follow your instincts and never give in to what you think is wrong. You go out of your way to do your best even if it hurts. You may have a lot to learn but so do we. Why else do you think I followed your lead during the exam. For shits and giggles? Ok maybe a little, but the main reason was because i knew you could do it. Do you get what i'm saying?"

Ruby was tearing up a little and said "but what if you're wrong? What if we would be better off with wiess as the leader. She even has training to be a leader. I'll never be able to match up to that."

I couldn't help but soften my gaze and ask "did weiss tell you that?" Ruby nodded to this and started crying again. Hearing this Blake was frowning again in thought while Yang was on her feet with fire in her hair as her semblance activated.

Seeing Ruby crying, I pulled her into my ċhėst and started comforting her while getting Yang's attention and mouthing to her "not now, Ruby is more important. Well get her later"

(A/N Vyr did not say this out loud)

I don't know how much she understood but she nodded and calmed down. Seeing this i said to ruby who was still crying in my arms "Don't listen to her ruby. The fact that she said that proves she isn't leader material."

"But *sob* She said-"

"Ruby, don't worry about what she said. There is more to leading a team than just commanding Ruby. And there are many types of leaders. But to be great. No just to be a good leader first and foremost you need trust. And i will say this right now, I trust you Ruby. That is something that will never change."

Blake made a noise of agreement and said " I trust you as well. I am glad to follow you."

(Yang)"Same here little sis. I never imagined you would be my team leader, but then again I never would have thought we would go to beacon together. Now that you're here I couldn't imagine it any other way."

Ruby looked around before crying again, this time from the shadow weiss had left on her heart being removed. Vyr seeing this laughed and said "I'm glad you're our leader and all but what are we going to do about this crying. At this rate people might start calling you the "weeping Rose"!"

Ruby hearing this went through a few emotions before making an angry pout and started hitting Vyr, this time with a good deal of strength. Soon this led to Ruby chasing Vyr around the room trying to hit her. While Vyr was laughing and playing with ruby using the other two as human shields. On the other side of the door Ozpin who had come to discuss Vyr's trip with her smiled knowing he made the right choice of teammates once again. He started walking down the hallway thinking 'i'm sure it can wait till tomorrow. who know she may even have new music to share.'

Excited at the thought Ozpin walked away with a newfound pep in his step.
