Warlord: King of All Clans

Chapter 25 Elf Druid

"Is this the legendary beast? But why is it being hunted by wild boar people? It seems that its fighting power is not very strong..."

Looking at the giant groundhog that was surrounded, Leo became suspicious.

The four wild boars dug their front hooves into the ground and made grunting sounds, but they didn't dare to rush forward. Several wild boar men stood far away, raising their crossbows and loading them for shooting.

But the groundhog's panic was not fake. It held its head with its front paws, covered its eyes, and tried not to resist.

The powerful crossbow arrow hit its forehead, then bounced away like a piece of chalk, without even a single hair being shot off.

Leo was drooling at what he saw, and couldn't help but take out a short spear, ready to "do the right thing".

Groundhogs are gentle, herbivorous animals that are easy to tame!

The wild boar people who were hunting the marmot were actually more devastated than the marmot itself. Their powerful crossbows could easily kill wild animals like wolves and snow leopards, and could also cause severe damage to brown bears, but they could not break the defense of this marmot.

In close combat, they were completely crushed. Even a six or seven hundred pound one-horned boar couldn't break the opponent's huge body, let alone a wild boar man.

With just a wave of its claws, the giant marmot could send a two-hundred-pound wild boar flying five meters away, so that they dared not even get close.

But this marmot was really annoying. The deer antler cassava planted in the back mountain of the wild boar people was the food for the entire tribe to survive the winter, but it was all eaten up by this marmot in a few days.

Then they dug a two-mile-long stone tunnel from the opposite side of the cliff in order to steal the food stored in the wild boar people's granary.

If you hit it, it will run away, crying and screaming, looking aggrieved.

After a few days, he forgot the pain and came back to eat secretly.

The only thing to be thankful for is that this groundhog is so timid that it can be said to be almost non-aggressive.

A boar man put down his weapon, took out a torch and flint, and prepared to use fire to inflict a little damage on the invulnerable marmot.

At this moment, a sharp sound of breaking through the air was heard, and a short spear flew out from the forest and accurately pierced its thick neck, and the sharp spear head protruded from the other side of its neck.

The boarman had the same tenacious vitality as the wild boar, but was powerless under such a fatal blow. He threw away the torch and flint, covered the bloody wound with one hand, and tried to pull out the spear with the other hand.

This action lasted only a second before the boar man staggered to the ground, twitching and dying.

The remaining three wild boar men were terrified and hid behind big trees, sticking out their pig heads to look around.

One of the wild boar men made a "gee-gee" sound at the one-horned boar he had tamed, then pointed in the direction where the gun was coming from.

This one-horned boar, which was larger and more ferocious than a wild boar, immediately ran towards the woods where Leo was, sniffing around.

It sniffed a few times, as if it smelled something, and then followed to the side of the woods.

The boar man carefully observed his pet to find the enemy. He saw that his one-horned boar was walking and then turned back towards him. He immediately became alert and quickly shrank his strong body behind a big tree.

Unfortunately, it was too late. Another short spear flew from the sky more than 20 meters away and nailed the boar man's feet, which he failed to retract in time, to the ground.

The wild boar man howled like a pig being slaughtered, raised his hand and fired a crossbow, then pulled out his short spear with force, and crawled backwards.

The giant groundhog that was surrounded also saw the movement here. It seemed to have found its backbone and immediately became "ferocious". It threatened with its fierce baby voice and waved its sharp and curved front paws in the air, forcing the three unicorn pigs that were surrounding it to retreat again and again.

The boarmen who were attacked from both sides began to panic. The remaining two boarmen no longer hesitated. One of them supported his injured companion, and the other dragged the body of his dead companion, and they went into the woods.

After the wild boar disappeared into the woods, Leo climbed down from the tree and greeted the marmot who had "escaped death" with a smile: "Hello!"

The giant groundhog standing upright grinned, revealing its large front teeth, and then, as if it had thought of something, it shouted in fear, "Run!"

After saying that, he ran away. Before Leo could react, the cry of the unicorn boar was heard again in the direction where the boar man left.

More than a dozen one-horned boars crowded out of the woods, followed by an even larger number of boar crossbowmen.

When I looked back, the giant groundhog had already disappeared into the forest.

After fleeing all the way to the bank of the Anzeno River and leaving the wild boarmen behind him far behind, Leo breathed a sigh of relief and slowed down his pace.

There were two short and thick crossbow arrows stuck on the leather shield on his back. In the previous encounter, the wild boar people fired a rain of arrows at him from dozens of meters away. Fortunately, it was in the forest. If it was in an open area, the round shield with a diameter of 70 cm would not be able to protect Leo's whole body.

Even so, the sound of arrows breaking through the air and piercing the wood around him still made Leo's scalp tingle, and he didn't dare to look back.

Fortunately, he had been foraging in the forest since he was a child and had grown up being chased by brown bears and wild boars, so escaping was his specialty.

He can climb mountains and cross rivers as if they were walking on flat ground. He is gifted.

Although the unicorn's charge speed was fast, once it ran out of the boar man's command range, these stupid creatures would quickly slow down and become hesitant, and then Leo would gradually pull away from them, and finally successfully escape from the battle.

After sitting on a rock by the river to catch his breath, Leo looked around and soon saw a giant groundhog drinking water not far upstream.

"Hello," Leo walked over and greeted from a distance to avoid startling it: "My name is Leo, and I'm a human."

The giant groundhog stood up, looked at him curiously, and said in a cute baby voice: "My name is Freya, and I am an elf druid."

When standing up, the groundhog is more than three meters tall. Under its short and dense fur is thick fat that trembles with its movements.

Leo bravely approached and looked up at the huge creature.

Wow, it’s the same weight as a sedan. It must weigh almost two tons, right?

Because it wasn't a monster, Leo was a little disappointed and pouted: "Elf? All of you elves look like this?"

As we all know, Druids cannot be captured as babies, so their rarity is halved.

A trace of annoyance flashed in the groundhog's eyes. He turned his body 90 degrees and sat down on the ground, not looking at Leo.

It said in a muffled voice: "I am an elven druid, and this is my giant bear form!"

"Are you sure it's a giant bear?" Leo asked in disbelief.

"I! Am! A! Giant! Bear!" Freya repeated word by word viciously.

"Okay, elf druid in the form of a giant bear, where is your home? Do you want me to take you back?" Leo certainly didn't want to anger her, so he quickly showed goodwill.

Hearing this, Freya raised her head and looked at the waterfall in the distance. She said with a dejected look, "I can't go back."

Under Leo's gaze, the groundhog hesitated to speak, as if he didn't want to mention it.

Is it some unspeakable sad past?

As expected, the NPC characters all have rather tragic backgrounds.

Leo stood on tiptoe, stroked Freya's soft back hair, and comforted her: "Then let's go to my house! I'll treat you to delicious food!"

No matter if she is an elf, a giant bear, or a talking groundhog, trick her back first!

Freya turned around suddenly, as agile as a mouse, with her eyes shining brightly.

"What's delicious?!"
