Warlord: King of All Clans

Chapter 27 Bear Child

After eating and drinking, the group of people lay in front of the campfire, watching the village women cleaning up the mess in the afterglow of the setting sun while waiting for the night to fall.

The other villagers in the camp were not as comfortable as Leo and his friends. After dinner, the veteran would take over shifts with his companions who were patrolling the surrounding areas. The militia would consciously train in javelin, slingshot, sword and shield skills.

Some young people who wanted to join the militia would also come over to watch, and even muster up the courage to go forward to ask for advice and get a beating.

More villagers will speed up the process of repairing their tents. They will pile up and cover the outside of the small tents with some picked up stones, branches and bark to make the tents safer and warmer.

After a period of processing, the tents of many villagers have been transformed into semi-underground huts. In addition to providing shelter from wind and rain, they also ensure that when the next alien attack comes, a short spear or stray arrow will not poke a hole in the tent and pierce the people inside.

At the highest point of the entire River Bend Camp, a large circle of stone foundation is gradually taking shape.

That is the lord's house under construction.

This is not because Uliyan is ambitious and wants to create a spectacle at the beginning.

The Lord's House is not just the lord's residence, it is like a simplified version of a castle and the core of a northern village.

It is the village court. People will gather regularly in the big house under the organization of the village chief, and any conflicts and injustices will be resolved here.

It is also the village's warehouse. As the only two-story building in the hamlet, its cellar and second floor can better store food and property.

It is also a shelter for the villagers. Whenever there is an attack by foreign tribes, beasts or bandits, the old, weak, women and children in the village will hide in the lord's house, close the heavy door, and quietly wait for the battle to end.

As for the villagers' own huts and small wooden doors, they were no match for the looting of bandits and foreigners.

Regardless of time, place, or world, people's obsession with their homeland is always engraved in their bones.

If the pioneering team wants to take root in the river bend, they must first have a lord's house.

Leo was roasting the fire, digesting his food, and stroking Little Mouse's long black hair out of boredom, combing a strand of hair on her head straight.

"This is your receiving antenna, like your third eye, or third ear, which can make you smarter, you know?"

The little mouse just stood there in a daze, letting him ravage it. When he looked up and saw that the strand of hair was about to fall down, he quickly reached out and straightened it.

"Really? I want one too!"

Freya was very interested. She lowered her head and stretched out her front paws to stroke the short black hair on her forehead.

Unfortunately, her claws were too short and couldn't be closed together.

The hair is too short and can't stand up at all.

That night, Leo arranged for Freya to stay in the pigsty.

In order to take good care of the twenty kobold cubs, the pigsty had been expanded and became more like a stable. In addition to a circle of raised walls, there was also a roof made of branches, which was enough to keep out the wind and rain.

There was also a thick layer of leaves and hay inside. Olivia even took out some furs from her stockpile and used them as quilts for the kobold cubs to prevent her godsons from freezing to death in the middle of the night.

Freya stood outside the fence curiously, looking at the densely packed, silly kobold cubs inside, and looked at Leo with contempt.

"Eh~! You humans actually eat kobolds!"

Leo didn't bother to explain, he opened the door and let her in, "Would you like to try it? One bite for each child! It's delicious!"

The group of dog-headed cubs could more or less understand some of their conversation. Their faces were distorted with fear, their expressions were out of control, and they huddled together, whimpering.

Freya squeezed in and lay on her back, taking up most of the room by herself.

"not bad!"

Leo looked at Freya sleeping with her legs spread out, with a question mark on his face, but he no longer had the energy to complain.

After leaving the pigsty, Olivia, who had been with him the whole time, grabbed Leo's sleeve and warned him angrily: "Don't bring anything home!"

He brought back a little girl and raised her in his tent. His female companions said that Leo had found a wife for himself. Although Olivia was very angry when she heard this, she just endured it. At least she saved a person.

And after washing the little mouse clean and raising it for a while, it was finally no longer the Bobby who stayed up late and was covered in black mud, smelly and dirty, with green eyes and sunken eye sockets from hunger, and a black face from eating too many poisonous insects and grass roots.

Who doesn't like a beautiful little girl? And the way the little mouse tried so clumsily and hard to please herself in order to stay made Olivia feel very distressed.

What's up with the kobold cubs!

Eat and poop!

But they seem to be very obedient and cute. They usually follow me and call "Mom! Mom!", which is quite interesting.

Now there's one more groundhog who eats a big pot for one meal!

Leo picked his nose and said shamelessly, "Then who do you dislike? I'll drive her away?"

Olivia was suddenly in a dilemma, caught up in confusion and self-blame.

The next morning, Leo was woken up by Olivia while he was still asleep.

She grabbed Leo's ear angrily and said, "Look! Look! What the hell did you bring back!"

"What's the matter again?" Leo was pulled out by her with sleepy eyes, and he followed her out of the camp while putting clothes on him.

At the edge of the farmland outside the camp, Freya's huge figure was squatting alone on the edge of the field.

She lowered her head, drooped her ears, held her paws on her belly, and her body was covered with mud, like a 4,000-pound Husky that had made a mistake.

In front of her was a newly reclaimed farmland, but it was now completely unrecognizable.

The entire farmland was full of large pits and holes, and the land that had been loosened by the curved plow was now compacted more tightly than before.

Villagers of all ages in the farmland are busy filling up the holes and loosening up the compacted ground.

They were still afraid of this strange giant beast and did not dare to come up and accuse it, so they could only bear the losses silently.

But the more this happened, the more guilty Freya felt.

Leo stared at the tragic scene in amazement, and a piece of information flashed through his mind.

Little-known fact: groundhogs are pests!

"What are you doing?" Leo asked Freya angrily. If he could reach her even if he stretched out his hand, he would have pulled Freya's ears.

Freya replied aggrievedly: "I just want to help!"

It turned out that Freya, who was full of energy, had woken up early before dawn. With her night vision, she saw the vast farmland outside the camp and felt that she should give something in return for eating so much food.

So she imitated the farmers and loosened the soil, but the soil she loosened with her front foot was stepped on and compacted with her back foot. She was so anxious that she ran around like a headless fly, making the damage worse.

By daybreak, she had destroyed at least two acres of land.

When the villagers found her, Freya had completely forgotten her original intention and was lying in the big hole she had dug, happily playing in the mud.

Leo immediately labeled Freya a "naughty child" in his mind.

But it’s impossible to hit her. What if she fights back?

So he waved his hand and said in a friendly manner: "Follow me!"

"Have you eaten?" Freya jumped up and asked with shining eyes.
