1. The Divorce Agreement

“I’m pregnant!” the woman in front of Qu Wan said in a low voice and when the latter was still in a daze, she added, “Sis, it’s your husband’s child.”

“Impossible!” Qu Wan roared in disbelief.

“See for yourself!” With a faint smile, the woman threw a pregnancy report in her face.

The moment Ling Mubai’s familiar signature burst into her eyes, Qu Wan felt a twinge in her heart, as if being stabbed.

She felt like her head was about to explode and she could hear nothing for the moment. Qu Wan stared at the woman, her eyes full of flames of fury.

“You bag of hair! You’re as shameless as your mother! And it looks like you have no idea what I’m capable of!” Having lost her mind, Qu Wan suddenly raised her hand and was about to slap the woman in the face with all her strength.

“Get a grip! Qu Wan, what do you think you’re doing?” Qu Wan’s mother-in-law, Sun Lan, shouted in the living room. Nobody knew when she had arrived.

“You should ask your son what he has done!” Unable to hold her rage back, Qu Wan turned around while bellowing, “He had an affair with this shameless slut and even got her pregnant! I’m going to kill this bitch!”

“Stop! Haven’t you heard me?” Sun Lan immediately rushed over, staring at Qu Wan in fury. “How dare you yell at me? You unruly twat!”

Overwhelmed by hatred, again Qu Wan landed her palm on the face of that woman, who swayed and fell to the floor.

“I’m bleeding… Help!”

At the sight of the blood under that woman’s skirt, Sun Lan flared up in an instant. She dashed to Qu Wan and slapped her, showing no mercy. “You just can’t stand the fact that someone else is pregnant with Mubai’s Child because you’re infertile, right, you scrubber?”

As if she suddenly figured out what had happened, Qu Wan’s face turned pale. “They all knew about this, and I’m the only one in the dark?”

She bumped against the table under the impact of her mother-in-law’s slap. In spite of the sharp pain, she held the corner of the table, trying to prevent herself from collapsing.

At this point, the door was pushed open from outside and a tall, strong figure walked in. “What happened?” he asked after a glance at the scene in room with a grim look.

Sun Lan answered anxiously, pointing at Qu Wan, “Mubai, this woman is going to kill my grandson! Get Xinyue to the hospital! Hurry up!”

Ling Mubai’s brows were knitted when he saw the blood on the floor. He immediately held Jiang Xinyue up and rushed out of the room, without even looking back at Qu Wan.

Seized by desperation, Qu Wan felt cold all over. She bumped against the corner of the table again when she staggered back, which caused sharp pain in her lower back.

Supporting herself with her palms against the table, she tried to stand up. However, before she could move, she suddenly felt warm liquid streaming down along her thigh.

When she pulled her hand out of her skirt, she saw blood on her fingers!

It suddenly rained heavily at night. After a while, Qu Wan saw a beam of light come in through the window and she knew Mubai was back.

She had a hunch for no reason that something bad was just around the corner.

With a bitter smile on her face, she put on her pajamas and stepped out of the bedroom barefoot. Ling Mubai was sitting on the sofa with a man who dressed like a lawyer standing beside him.

Watching Qu Wan come downstairs barefoot, Ling Mubai couldn’t help clenching his fists with a frown barely palpable.

Qu Wan walked over calmly and sat down next to him.

“Mrs. Ling, I’m Mr. Ling’s attorney. Here’s the divorce agreement I drafted as per Mr. Ling’s requirement. Now, if you don’t mind.” the lawyer said after clearing his throat.

Qu Wan picked the agreement up, heartbroken. After leafing through it, she finally fixed her gaze on the clause of property division.

The agreement made it clear that all their property was Ling Mubai’s premarital property, so according to the law of marriage, Qu Wan was not allowed to take anything away from the Ling’s Mansion.

Qu Wan felt a sting in her eyes and she closed them subconsciously. After a few seconds when she opened her misty eyes again, she felt slightly relieved.

“Madam Ling, if you’ve finished reading, please sign it!” The lawyer urged.

Next second, he handed a pen over to her. Qu Wan looked up at Ling Mubai, who had been in silence since he came back, but only saw his look as calm as nothing had happened.

Taking the pen from the lawyer, she wrote down her name on the last page with a trembling hand.

The lawyer took a sigh of relief when he saw her put down the pen. He then picked up the agreement and placed it into his folder.

In a suffocating atmosphere, Qu Wan rose to her feet without a word and walked upstairs.

Ling Mubai watched her lonely figure from behind, his eyes turning bleak, his hands trembling slightly.

“Miss Qu, from now on, you will no longer be Mrs. Ling, so you have to move out of this house tomorrow morning.” Before she could reach the staircase, the lawyer’s voice rang from behind.

After pausing for a short moment, Qu Wan answered inconsciently, “Fine!”

When she lifted her bare foot and stepped onto the staircase, the lawyer’s voice rang again, “Miss Qu, you haven’t had a steady job for years, and all your daily necessities were provided by Mr. Ling, so please leave all your jewelry as compensation.”

Freezing on the spot, Qu Wan could hardly believe that Ling Mubai would go so far as to request her “compensation”!

If she couldn’t get her share of the property, she would have to make a living selling her jewelry for the time being.

“Fine!” After spitting this word out, she rushed upstairs without looking back.

Ling Mubai was a little surprised at her calmness. He had thought that she wouldn’t agree to divorce easily, but things were going swimmingly out of his expectation.

Seeing that Qu Wan seemed to have made up her mind to leave, Ling Mubai was seized by sudden restlessness and depression.

Standing on the staircase, Qu Wan didn’t turn around. “I won’t take anything that you’ve given me, and I hope you’ll give me back my things.”

With that, she rushed into the bedroom and slammed the door.

When the lawyer turned to Ling Mubai in confusion, he saw him staring at the closed door on the second floor with a worried look.
