Ways to handle this little demon

" Feng-gege, you've never seen such farms before, have you?"

Wang Li Mei asked as she walked side by side with Xie Feng on a little street of the village. Beside her, Xie Feng was busy eating dumplings given by Ren Haitao.

It was only dawn but he, Wang Li Mei, Ren Haitao and mistress Wang went down the emerald jade mountain since the first light was yet to come. They were now sautering around the vicinity of villages down the mountain. 

At first, Ren Haitao had planned on sneakily going down the mountain with Xie Feng before dawn so that a certain mischievous niece of his couldn't disturb their date. But since unexpected conflicts happened between him and Xie Feng last night, things didn't go as expected.

Xie Feng woke up late. And when he told him to get ready to go down the mountain to watch the sceneries around, instead of complying obediently, Xie Feng kept dragging his time with a sulky pout. 

By the time both of them were ready and got out, two other third wheels were awaiting them in front of the sect gate already, completely ruining a certain someone's plan for his very date. 

To be honest, Ren Haitao had zero interest in enjoying the sceneries. All the things surrounding the mountain were just forests, some rural farms and little petty villages.... what's there to behold or savor anyway? Nature's beauty?..... No, he couldn't just understand what the word "beauty" even meant in other things except for his Xie Feng. 

His real goal was just to get a chance to hang out with Xie Feng. But these two clueless ancestors just couldn't stay by themselves and had to come interfering their little moment. 

Since Xie Feng didn't want to talk to him, he was walking side by side with Wang Li Mei. Following them behind were two siblings, who would be no other than a poor soul, Ren Haitao and his ancestor, mistress Wang. 

Xie Feng only responded the girl's question with a perfunctory nod before continuing to finish the dumpling. In fact, Xie Feng was feeling a bit joyful because of a promise he got from Ren Haitao last night. 

After all those quarrels and conflicts, he finally got what he wanted because, last night, Ren Haitao gave him a "no kiss" promise. No more initiating a kiss or no more begging for kisses... only holding hands, hugging and sleeping on the same bed. Yeah..... this might sounded like no improvement at all. But little by little, Xie Feng was intending on distancing himself from Ren Haitao. And this "no kiss" promise would be considered as his very first step. 

Tilting his head a bit, Xie Feng turned to peek at the man behind who was talking to his sis with a gloomy face. It's not like he wanted to spoil this man's mood all the time either. He was simply doing what he was supposed to do.

Creating a relationship between a predator and a prey.... this sounds utterly ridiculous just to listen to. Ren Haitao being a lord of demonic Lang Clan made things even worse. 

Wang Li Mei who noticed her Feng- gege's attention was not on her at all, pursed her lips in dissatisfation. She was trying her best to find a topic to talk with Xie Feng so that she could fit in with him.

But all the time, the only response she got from Xie Feng after talking nonstop would be just a word or two like "Mn", " Yes" or "No". This was getting stressful. Wang Li Mei had never tried chasing after a boy in the past. And now that she finally had someone she wanted to do so, the other party ended up being an icy man. 

No... no... no.... she couldn't give in just like this. She needed to be diligent and work hard. The first step would be naturally a bit difficult. But it's important not to get depressed in there and keep trying. Yep..... 

Encouraging herself like this, Wang Li Mei found another topic to talk. She was not a talkative girl to begin with. But for the sake of her future relationship, she wouldn't mind being a bit more talkative. 

" Feng-gege, is it boring to stay in Jinzi town? Uncle Ren once said that place is neither rural like here nor developed like the imperial city. It sounds boring to me just from hearing the town's name though. "

Xie Feng was about to ask which town named "Jinzi" she was talking about when he remembered that Ren Haitao had been concealing his true identity from his niece and nephew, plus all the other Jianyu sect elders, apart from immortal Wang and his sis.

Ren Haitao must have told these two kids that he lived in Jinzi town which never existed in the first place. Feeling curious, he gave another nod to the girl's question before asking. 

"By the way, young miss Wang, have you ever been to Jinzi town before? "

Seeing the man finally taking the initiative to talk to her, Wang Li Mei was slightly surprised before replying with a cute pout on her face. 

"No... to tell the truth, I don't even know where that town was. Uncle Ren said Jinzi town is near the river of heaven and hell, so it's not safe to go. He never invited us to come. And even if me and gege take the initiative to say we want to take a visit to him, he never allowed either. "

River of heaven and hell..... one might wonder what this river exactly was or why it had such kind of name. In fact, this river was a magical river flowing between the borders of human realm and demonic realm. It's safe to say just the river itself was the border of these two realms. 

Everytime someone wanted to go to the other realm, they needed to cross this river first. The river was small but it had several aits in the middle with inhabitants abandoned by both of the realms. But some inhabitants stayed there simply because they wanted to.

This river was well-known for the two colors of water flowing in it. On the left side of the river where human realm existed, the color of river water was blue whilst on its right side where demon realm existed, it's water color would be crimson.

Demons were coming and going around the river all the time as they wished. So, naturally, villages and towns of human realm near that river were not safe to inhabit. 

Seeing his niece and future boyfriend getting along so well and chatting carefreely ahead, Ren Haitao couldn't stay still no more. He'd been enduring for two good hours.

Since Xie Feng was not in the mood to talk with him, Ren Haitao chose to keep his distance from the other for a while. But it didn't mean he could hang out or chat freely with the other girl. This was more than he could allow. 

"Xie Feng..... come to my side and walk with me. What kind of subordinate are you to walk ahead of your master?.... "
