Ways to handle this little demon

It's a beautiful dusk with the magical painting of warm colored clouds being portrayed by the evening sky. Sitting by the doorway of a temporary shelter and wiping the hilt of deadly ice blade was Zhang Long Wei. He had just come back from a villager's farm. A high level demonic beast was destroying crops in the farm of that villager, so he went to eliminate it and had came back only by now. 

All the other volunteer disciples had gone back to snowy light peak already. Only Zhang Long Wei was left in butterfly village. Tonight, he was in charge of guarding and patrolling this village with another disciple. Each village around emerald jade mountain, except for butterfly village, had only one disciple to patrol and guard them.

But since the incidents of fire and mysterious creatures appearing in butterfly village, at least two disciples were to patrol this village every night.

Tonight, it's Zhang Long Wei's turn. The other disciple in charge was yet to come. But he had no interest in knowing who the other person was. In fact, it's just that he had no interest in doing anything this whole day. Zhang Long Wei had been absentminded all day with his mind elsewhere all the time. 

It was because of this morning's incident.

This morning, he really did tell Wang Li Jie all the truth about his body's condition including the fact that he was poisoned with "blue ice poison" of deadly ice blade. The story ended up a bit longer and complicated than expected. To explain about " blue ice poison", Zhang Long Wei also disclosed that he was undergoing spiritual root changing incident to the youth. 

Zhang Long wei didn't mention to Wang Li Jie that he found out all this information from a book about deadly ice blade lest he asked him to show it.

So, he did add some lies to make it believable. The youth was indeed confused by his half-true, half-fake story and didn't quite understand it at first.

And Zhang Long wei had to explain it again and again. And by the time Wang Li Jie realized in which circumstance he was in, the youth became quiet all of a sudden.

Zhang Long Wei didn't even mention about "no cure" of blue ice poison in the book. But it seemed like, just with this incomplete story alone, he did frighten the youth big time.

Zhang Long wei tried to cheer the youth up. But Wang Li Jie was unresponsive as if in a trance. Not long after, since the youth told him that he wanted to stay alone, Zhang Long wei had no choice but to leave Wang Li Jie like this in his chamber alone. 

This was the last sort of reaction he had expected from the youth. Zhang Long Wei would rather get beaten up or even cursed, instead of getting ignored by the youth. If it was just the morning, Zhang Long Wei wouldn't feel this uneasy.

But now it was all day. Wang Li Jie had been ignoring him all day!!.... Even when they crossed paths in the village today whilst volunteering villagers, the youth didn't even spare him a glance.

Even Zhang Long Wei himself couldn't understand why he disliked being ignored by the youth this much or why he just couldn't stay by himself without thinking or caring about Wang Li Jie at all. 

It was already dusk. And soon, the night was coming. Zhang Long Wei was not even sure if the youth would be okay by himself. But according to last night's incident....no...Wang Li Jie wouldn't be alright by himself at all.

The youth should have at least told physician Chen or immortal Wang about his own condition. Or if Wang Li Jie didn't want to tell the elders and didn't want to see him at the moment as well, he might ask for help from his close friends too.

As long as the youth was okay by his own means, Zhang Long Wei should have been feeling reassured. But instead, he found himself getting dissatisfied for nothing. If the youth didn't want to talk or associate with him at the moment, Wang Li Jie could simply choose to find another way out for himself without having to ask for his help. 

But he hated it. Zhang Long Wei didn't even know why. But he just hated it. Just by imagining the scene of the youth enduring the torture of blue ice poison with the help of someone else, it was enough to had him getting irritated for nothing. What if Wang Li Jie cuddled or hugged that person just like he did to him last night? What if his condition worsened tonight? What if he couldn't handle it alone?

Sheathing deadly ice blade in its scabbard, Zhang Long Wei decided. Tonight, he was sneakily going up to the peak. The demon knew he would severely get punished if he were to be exposed sneaking away during the duty. But he could care less about it. To make sure that the youth was fine, was indeed more important. 

Rising to his feet, Zhang Long Wei was about to start his duty to patrol the village when he saw two figures in Jianyu sect uniforms in the distance. The two seemed to be chatting merrily, walking side by side with each other.

Zhang Long Wei knew one of them might be the disciple in charge to patrol together with him tonight. Even though they were to patrol different areas of butterfly village, Zhang Long Wei needed to give him the guard headband first.

The headband was of Jianyu Sect. And it was given to him by a disciple in charge of the duty last night. All disciples on patrol were to wear these headbands. At first, he was about to leave the headband just on the window frame of this shelter.

But now that the disciple had already coming, it would be considered impolite to just leave it here. Yeah.....Zhang Long Wei didn't have that much manners in the past. But after staying in the sect for a couple of months, he did learn some more manners. Not that he was learning manners because of a stupid reason like turning a new leaf or something. It's just that Zhang Long Wei didn't want to bother himself anymore with unnecessary troubles.

Zhang Long Wei was about to walk over to them and hand over the guard headband when he caught the sight of their faces. It was Wang Li Jie, his little naughty disciple who was ignoring him this whole day....But another senior who had come along with this youth was.....Li Qing?

Half the time, if Zhang Long Wei happened to cross paths with Li Qing, he would just feign ignorance and pass by him like a complete stranger. But now, since the youth was next to Li Qing, Zhang Long Wei couldn't bring himself to act like this anymore.

The two buddies didn't even realize he was standing in front of the shelter as they chatted non-stop. What's so good about chatting with that guy anyway? Talking nonstop without even looking carefully at the street they were walking....the more Zhang Long Wei watched this scene, the more it became an eyesore for him.

Zhang Long Wei wanted to give a fake cough or something to get the youth's attention. But he also didn't dare. The demon was worried Wang Li Jie would instantly walk away as soon as he caught a glimpse of himself.

Heaving a sigh, Zhang Long Wei scratched his head with frustration. Looking down, the demon hung deadly ice blade from his waistband with strings. He was questioning himself if he should even show up in front of the youth right now. Sighing yet again, Zhang Long Wei looked up only to meet eyes with Wang Li Jie who was standing in front of him and looking at him, mild surprise in the youth's eyes.
