“Lala Land” was shortlisted! It was shortlisted in the Oscar Awards!

Qi Le’an put Little Orange aside and stood up excitedly, “This gift is too big!”

Laughing out loud, Tresse said, “The award ceremony will be held on February 28th. Attend the ceremony with your family! The air tickets on the house!”

Qi Le’an smiled and said, “Absolutely!”

Tresse was rather delighted and then sighed, “This time you’ve got a high chance of winning the award. You must come!”

How could Qi Le’an not go to such a grand event? He promised that he would go at once.

When Wei Changfeng came back, he saw Qi Le’an walking around with Little Orange in his arms and almost falling to the ground with great laughter.

With his eyes sparkling, Qi Le’an looked at Wei Changfeng and said, “Wei Sama! Good news!”

Wei Changfeng touched his head, squatted down to give Little Orange a hug and then kissed Qi Le’an, saying, “What’s the good news? Why are you so happy?”

Qi Le’an felt a bit bashful about being kissed in front of their kid. He coughed and said, “‘Lala Land’ has been shortlisted!”

Wei Changfeng’s eyes glittered too. No matter what award “Lala Land” acquired in the end, it would be beneficial to Qi Le’an anyway.

Qi Le’an said excitedly, “Tresse said that the award ceremony would be held on February 28th and also asked us when we were available.”

It was still early February, so they still had more than twenty days for preparation. The children’s passports would be ready in time and they could also get married when they were abroad.

Qi Le’an felt that he was about to reach the top of his life.

Wei Changfeng pondered for a moment and said, “We may not be able to apply for the passport for the children until the seventh day of the first lunar month. And I won’t have time until fifteenth day of the first lunar month…”

The “Abduction of Child” was being post-edited. Wei Changfeng had communicated with the studio many times before and the rough cut version was also completed. After the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, Wei Changfeng would offer the studio a final version and the studio would be able to adjust the video accordingly. During this production process, Wei Changfeng did not have to follow up.

Qi Le’an had planned it well. He would take Little Orange and An Cheng back to the northeast for the passport application the day after tomorrow. In this case, the two kids meet with the children in the orphanage. After they got the passports, they would go to Beijing for the visa. Supposedly, they would be able to get the visa before departure.

During this period of time, Wei Sama would have a quiet moment so that he could edit the video peacefully.

He told Wei Changfeng the plan. Wei Changfeng nodded and said, “Thank you…”

Qi Le’an giggled, “It’s okay. By then, I will take my assistant with me. An Cheng and Little Orange are both docile kids, right?”

The two children were in a fog. Even An Cheng was full of confusion about going abroad. Qi Le’an squatted down to hug the two of them and said, “We can go to Disneyland together! There are many cartoon characters!”

Little Orange’s eyes sparkled, “Peppa Pig!”

Qi Le’an couldn’t help but say, “There’s no Peppa… but Minnie. Do you like Minnie?”

Little Orange smiled bashfully and said, “Yes!”

Qi Le’an rubbed her head and wished he could bring two children to play tomorrow!

On the last day in Hai City, Qi Le’an and Wei Changfeng visited Yin Yan together. Yin Yan had done a big favor for Qi Le’an before. Although Gale’s boss was Wei Changfeng, Yin Yan had done a lot for Qi Le’an.

When the two of them knocked on the door with gifts, Yin Yan was lecturing his son. Yin Yan’s son was around Qi Le’an’s age, who was in the senior year at collage this year. He failed the postgraduate school’s entrance exam and meanwhile didn’t want to get a job. Every day, he just stayed in his own room. No one knew what he was doing.

“Look at you! You should at least get a job!”

Qi Le’an was a bit embarrassed to hear Yin Yan’s angry voice at the door. After all, Yin Yan was always gentle and gracious in front of everyone.

“Hey! Why are you lecturing our son at the Spring Festival? I think he is doing fine!”

Judging from the voice, she must be Yin Yan’s wife. Qi Le’an looked at Wei Changfeng and Wei Changfeng said in a low voice, “Should we go out for a walk?”

They probably shouldn’t go back until the quarrel was over inside in case of embarrassment.

Qi Le’an couldn’t help giggling. He was ready to say okay when the door was opened.

Yin Yan, who looked depressed, was dumbfounded to see the two people outside the door.

Qi Le’an and Wei Changfeng were speechless.

“Hi, Le’an, Changfeng!” Yin Yan was indeed the boss. His expression changed in a second and he said happily, “Why are you still standing there dully?! Come on in!”

The two of them walked in with gifts. Qi Le’an smiled, “Uncle Yin, long time no see.”

It had been half a year since they met last time. That was before the filming of “Abduction of Child”.

Yin Yan grinned, “Why are you still bringing gifts with you? You don’t have to be so polite!”

Qi Le’an entered the house. Yin Yan’s house was still of the old type. Unfortunately, his father-in-law who worked in the Bureau of Culture passed away two years ago. His family had three people only now.

Seeing the old furniture including the wooden sofa, Qi Le’an couldn’t help reminiscing. Back then, he met the scriptwriter of “The Disguiser” here and finalized his future career path.

This was the first time Qi Le’an met Yin Yan’s wife, so he hastened to greet, “Hello, Aunty.”

Mrs. Yin was dignified and magnanimous. When she saw Qi Le’an and Wei Changfeng, she didn’t show the angry look she had when she fought with her husband. She said with a smile, “Le’an? This is the first time we’ve seen each other. Have a seat.”

On the sofa, Yin Yan’s son snorted and went back to his own room.

Yin Yan, who happened to look back, was speechless.

Qi Le’an clearly saw the veins standing out on Yin Yan’s forehead.

Mrs. Yin was also a little embarrassed and explained, “He is not feeling well recently. Just ignore him. Have you eaten yet? I will cook for you!”

Qi Le’an hastened to ask her not to do that but she had got into the kitchen. Only the three of them were left in the living room. Yin Yan smiled and said, “Le’an, you’ve grown taller again. You are a grown-up now.”

Wei Changfeng said aside, “Yes, he has grown taller.”

Qi Le’an was shocked and said, “Uncle Yin, I’ve got good news!”

Hearing that, Yin Yan asked, “What good news?”

“‘Lala Land’ has been shortlisted!”

Yin Yan was really happy to hear that. Whether Qi Le’an was in his charge or not, Qi Le’an was still an artist of the Gale Studio. Now that Qi Le’an’s movie was shortlisted in the Oscar Awards, of course it was a huge thing for him!

Yin Yan immediately rose and meant to get the wine, saying, “We must have a drink to celebrate this! Now that Le’an has grown up, he can drink now!”

Wei Changfeng smiled and said, “Let me drink with you. He needs to drive later.”

Yin Yan laughed, “You are always so protective of him!”

Wei Changfeng smiled faintly and said nothing.

Mrs. Yin took out a few dishes from the kitchen and then brought them the chopsticks and glasses. Wei Changfeng ask her to join them but she smiled and said, “I won’t join you then. I have an appointment with my sister for shopping. You guys enjoy.”

Wei Changfeng was aware that Mrs. Yin was deliberately leaving them alone so he didn’t insist. Then, Mrs. Yin got changed and left. Before she got out of the door, she went to knock on her son’s room’s door and said a few words.

Yin Yan shook his head and said, “He is so unbelievable… Le’an, when are you going to America?”

“We will set off after the visa is ready,” Qi Le’an said.

“Visa?” Yin Yan was confused and asked, “Don’t you have the visa? Has it expired?”

Qi Le’an shook his head and looked at Wei Changfeng. Wei Changfeng smiled at Yin Yan and said, “The little boy who starred in the movie—’Abduction of Child’, and his sister will also go to America with us for a vacation.”

Yin Yan didn’t know that before, so after hearing that, he just nodded and said, “Great. Those are two poor kids. Luckily, when the movie is released, I think there should be someone to adopt them, right?

Wei Changfeng smiled without explaining.

The three of them chatted. Yin Yan’s son suddenly came out of the room. Without looking at his father and the two guests, he went straight to the fridge to get a drink.

Yin Yan was irritated, so he asked, “Why didn’t you say hi when you saw the guests here? Have some manners!”

However, after getting a drink, Yin Yan’s son just looked at them indifferently and then said, “I’m not talking to gays. That’s disgusting!”

The living room fell into silence instantly.

This was the first time that Qi Le’an had met someone who attacked him from the aspect of sexual orientation. These years, people were getting more and more open-minded. Those who abused gays online would be roasted by the others. When Qi Le’an and Wei Changfeng were in America, most of the time, others would send their wishes. When they came back home, since they were both famous, very few people dared to scold them face to face even if they disliked this couple.

Before Qi Le’an could react, Yin Yan stood up and glared at his son, “What did you say? Mind your mouth!”

Yin Yan’s son was no longer a child. He didn’t need to raise his head to quarrel with his father. He said disdainfully, “I said they were disgusting! Gays are disgusting! That guy is just lucky enough to ride on Wei Changfeng’s coattails!”

Yin Yan was so angry that he picked up the belt and wanted to whip his son. Wei Changfeng hurriedly stopped him. Yin’s son frowned at him, his eyes full of provocation.

At this tense moment, Qi Le’an laughed.

He even laughed out loud.

Everyone turned to Qi Le’an.

Qi Le’an shrugged and said to Yin Yan, “Uncle Yin, I think your son doesn’t need to participate in the postgraduate school’s entrance exam. He eats so much and has a lot of strength. Why don’t you let him be a soldier?”

Yin Yan looked really sullen. It was hard to tell whether he was angered by his son or it was because something else.

Qi Le’an turned to Yin Yan’s son and said, “You were saying that I was disgusting? I don’t get it. I started to earn a living on my own at the age of twelve. I wonder what you were doing when you were twelve years old… Besides, I hope that you can show some respect for gays. I’m a gay indeed and I’m still striving for the honor of the country. As a straight man, what have you done?”

No one thought that Qi Le’an would dare to talk like that at Yin Yan’s house, and Yin Yan’s son was stunned on the spot.

After a few seconds, Yin Yan suddenly said, “Well said!”

He looked at his son and said, “Yin Zheng! I’ve told you to show respect for others when you were a kid. Nevertheless, you don’t even know what respect is now! I can’t imagine what you are like when you are outside. I think I should listen to Le’an and send you to the army. It is better to freeload at home! Now, go back to your room!”

Yin Zheng blushed but he didn’t dare to say anything. His pride seemed to have been extinguished by his father’s words. He turned around to go back to his room and slammed the door.

Yin Yan looked at Wei Changfeng and Qi Le’an and sighed, “I apologize on behalf of my son. I didn’t expect him to stoop like this.”

Yin Yan was so sorry while making the apology.

Qi Le’an couldn’t help but sigh, feeling that every family had a cross to bear.
