What?! The Gamemaster And The Top Player Are Dating?!

Chapter 105 - Li Ling And His Out Of The Box Thinking

Li Ling was always a person who would go for creating things that nobody would ever even think about. He was a black sheep that loved technology, but he had no idea that his out of the box thinking would one day lead him to be in such a situation.

He had only wanted to create something amazing. Something that wasn't merely just a game. He wanted to create something that would go down in history. He wanted to prove himself.

There was a promise that he wanted to keep and in order to keep that promise he had accidentally almost destroyed the world. 'Almost' because the world was yet to be destroyed and although there was still a chance of things going wrong, he would want to ignore it and hope for the best.

A.L.V.I.. was dangerous, but she was also the best thing a human had ever invented. If she hadn't been so dangerous she might just have brought a revolution in not only gaming but also out of games. The world would have changed and more of such bots could have been created to help the people in every sector of the world.

Alvi was an incomparable piece of machinery, but the Gamemaster was strictly against mass-producing such a bot and this was one of the main reasons why he had hidden the bot from the world and had installed a self-destructing program.

The Gamemaster didn't want others to be able to mass-produce such a bot so he made sure that they would not be able to. Even if someone were to try, they would never be able to succeed.

Alvi had been created for one reason. For a promise that Li Ling had once made to someone whom he loved and looked up to a lot. If the promise was completed, there was no longer any need for Alvi to exist, so she would simply self-destruct herself because her purpose would have been fulfilled and maybe that was for the best.

It was better if this world didn't see such a creation. If they got their hands on such technology, Li Ling was sure that the world would end up in ruins and maybe he liked this world a bit too much to let it end up like. When he thought about this, he couldn't help but laugh, it wasn't the world that he loved so much, it was a person in this world that he loved so much and he would never want this world to go through anything that may indirectly affect the person he loved so much.

Xia looked at Li Ling with seriousness apparent in his eyes as he asked, "What if they find out?"

Li Ling woke up from his train of thoughts and stared at the man in front of him as he answered the question, "Do they look like they'll be good at running?"

Xia, "I don't know."

"If they find out, I'll make a run for it and hope they aren't fast enough to catch me."

Xia chuckled as he heard this since he knew that Li Ling could probably try to run away, but he still would not be able to succeed in invading their wrath.

"What do you think I should do, Mr. Xia?"

Xia looked at the man for a minute in silence and when the minute was over, he finally decided to respond to the man's question, "I don't know."

Li Ling pursed his lips, "It doesn't matter. We'll deal with it when it happens and if it doesn't, we'll just smile and carry on as normal."

"I have a bad feeling about this."

"About what?"

"About Alvi."

Li Ling laughed as he asked, "When did Alvi wrong you?"

"She seems to be a bit too close to Mastermo."

The smile on Li Ling's face disappeared as he heard this. His eyebrows drew together and light creases started forming on his forehead.

Xia, "We can't get the man to stop playing, but we can't let him continue either."

Li Ling nodded, "The more he plays, the more data she collects and the faster she develops her human conscience."

"We can't let that happen."

"But we can't get him to stop either." Li Ling shook his head, "This makes things difficult."

"You'll have to pass him."

Li Ling looked at the man and seemed to be once again lost in thoughts as he spoke up, "I will have to."

Li Ling didn't want to overthrow Mastermo from his top player position, but if Yingli wasn't able to do it, he would have to. This was part of the plan. They had to separate Mastermo's data from Alvi as naturally as possible so that the bot does not realize it and the best way to that was for another player to sacrifice himself by taking Mastermo's position as the top player and Li Ling was planning on doing just that.

He was the one who created this mess so he had to be the one to fix it as well and if he wasn't able to fix it, he would try to become the one who was at risk instead of letting Zhihao be the one sacrificing himself for Li Ling's mistakes.

Li Ling wasn't a person who would shy away from responsibility. If he did something wrong, he would make sure that he fixed it and if he can't do that, he would make sure that it doesn't affect someone else negatively.

He was a bit reluctant to actually surpass Mastermo and he knew it wasn't an easy task. Not only would he seem suspicious to have improved so suddenly, but Mastermo might even end up hating him for it. Nobody would like it if someone were to appear out of nowhere and take their place. All he could do was hope for Mastermo to not be such a petty person.

He wanted to curse his sister as he thought about this. If only she had done her job and took his place, Li Ling wouldn't have to choose this option.

Yingli was a beta player so she was already in too deep. It would not have changed a thing if she were to take Zhihao's position as the top player. Li Ling knew it wasn't her fault. Beating Mastermo was hard, but he still wanted to blame his sister for at least something. It was in his nature.

If something didn't go according to the way he wanted, he would want to blame it all on his sister. He wasn't the only one who did this. His sister was also pretty much in the same boat. If there was something that went wrong, Li Ying would be the first person to blame it all on her brother.

Xia, "Are we still following the original plan?"

Li Ling looked up at the face of the man and smiled, "We don't have a plan B to choose from."

"I'll take that as a yes."

Li Ling sighed, "It's a pity."

"What about the plan after that?"

Li Ling didn't reply, he only smiled as he heard the question as if he were agreeing to it.

Xia was asking him what happens after Alvi has been destroyed and the answer to that question was something that Li Ling could not say right now,

It all depended on Alvi's behavior. If the bot wasn't a big fail, they had planned on recreating her as A.L.V.I. 2.0

However, if she were to be as dangerous as they had predicted her to be, they would never recreate such a thing. Alvi would be gone forever and maybe that would have been for the best.

Li Ling was a bit reluctant to see the second scenario play out since by now he was a bit attached to the bot and would never want to see her disappear.

If they could remake her with the correct codes, they might just be able to create something just as amazing with a lot less side effects. It really would have been a waste to see such a great creation go to waste. So many years of developing such a bot would have all gone to waste and Li Ling didn't like the thought of all happening.

Xia, "Well then, I'll be taking my leave."

Li Ling nodded and took out his phone. He scrolled through the messaging app and found Zhihao's name and in front of the man's name was a green dot showing that he was active on his phone currently.

There was no way that Zhihao had gone off to sleep and woke up so early so when Li Ling saw that the man was awake right now, he immediately understood that Zhihao hadn't gone to sleep yet.

Li Ling was a person who would usually not sleep at night and instead prefer to work saying that his brain worked best at night but to see Zhihao doing the same thing as him, he felt like a hypocrite but he was still going to scold the man for not taking enough rest.

Not a minute later, he clicked on the man's icon and sent him a message saying: Go to sleep.
