What?! The Gamemaster And The Top Player Are Dating?!

Chapter 99 - Mastermo's Mother Likes His Lover

T.I.A.D. was a game that came out of nowhere and became the new project that Li Ling's company was working on. In the initial stage, before the release of the game, the company didn't have enough resources to release it and needed financial help. At that time, Mr. Huang came forward and proposed that the game be released as a product that came out of the partnership of the two companies.

Mr. Huang saw potential in the game and thought that this was going to be like investing in a fortune and he was ready to snatch the offer from everyone else. He was the first person to see it so he wasn't going to wait around for others to see what he saw.

At that time, Mr. Huang was busy with his schedule abroad so there were a lot of meetings that he had missed.. His wife, Huang Zhi Juan attended the meetings he could not on his behalf and since she was also the owner of their company, it didn't matter if it was Mr. Huang's signature or Zhi Juan's, both signatures had the same power and were valid.

Mr. Huang had never thought that his wife wasn't capable of making decisions and instead, he was sure that his wife made better decisions than him, so he really could not believe that she had signed such a contract.

He felt like there was probably a reason behind it and the woman probably had something in mind when she signed such a contract.

In reality, Huang Zhi Juan had signed the contract not because she liked it or because she had something in her mind, but simply because she liked this young man named Li Ling who was flattering her so much. He reminded her of her son, Zhihao, so she felt some empathy for the boy and signed the contract thinking that there wasn't going to be anything that may go wrong.

It could be said that Li Ling lucked out due to his sweet tongue that knew how to flatter people into agreeing to anything he demanded. Mrs. Huang Zhi Juan was much like her son, she was smart, but also gullible and it was easy to fool her just like how easy it was to fool her son.

The contract wasn't created without thinking, it was the product of much discussion and thinking. It was created by the Gamemaster with the help of his legal advising team so there was no way the contract would be like other contracts.

No matter what happened, the contract was always in Li Ling's favor.

The contract gave the Gamemaster the power to make all decisions regarding the game and although nobody would be able to meet the Gamemaster, Li Ling was given the authority to make decisions on the man's behalf. As it stood, the Gamemaster and Li Ling were given the same authority.

By all means, this contract was completely against Mr. Huang's company which thought that they would be able to earn a fortune by milking off of this game. The world didn't work like that and it seemed that Li Ling already knew that this was something that was going to happen so needed measures were already taken beforehand.

If the losses weren't enough, Mr. Huang had another clause in the contract that was against him.

The one million dollars that the winner would be given was fully paid by Mr. Huang's company.

It was actually funny now that Li Ling thought about it. What would Zhihao think if he heard this? He was basically playing to win his own father's money. It really was funny and maybe that was why Li Ling wanted Zhihao to win because if he didn't, Li Ling would feel guilty about tricking Zhihao's father like this.

Mr. Huang had never told his son that he was the one paying the cash prize, simply because he didn't think he needed to. He trusted that his son would win regardless if he knew or not so in the end, the money that he was willing to throw away was going to be won by his own son. He told his son to play the game because he knew that once Zhihao starts playing, he'll automatically win the game so he didn't need to worry about losing money, however, if Mastermo wasn't going to win, he'll really be losing a lot of precious cash.

There was one more clause in the contract that was yet to be found by Mr. Huang and that clause stated that the Gamemaster was also in the game. If no player was able to kill him in the final level, the prize money would be won by the Gamemaster. If Mr. Huang had known about this clause, he really would not have been as confident as he currently was.

"In the end, it was your side that signed the contract," Li Ling beamed.

When Mr. Huang saw the young man smiling happily as he said this, he laughed, "Your Gamemaster really is impressive."

Li Ling didn't respond and only smiled as he heard this.

"I wonder how old he is...?"

"Who knows? Maybe he's as old as you or he could be as young as me," Li Ling answered. He had already seen through this man's tactic to make him give out information on the Gamemaster, but it wasn't something Li Ling hadn't seen before. He was well versed in seeing through people and what they wanted. There was no way Li Ling could be so easily fooled.

Mr. Huang, "Such a cunning personality. If I were to guess, I'd say he's as old as you."

"What makes you say that?"

"Because you youngsters of today are the best at tricking people."

Li Ling seemed to be pleased as he heard this, "You might be right."

"Cunning and a bit hateful," Mr. Huang sounded bitter as he commented and it made Li Ling worry about his future.

There were only a number of people who knew the identity of the Gamemaster. One was Li Ling himself, one was Xia, his personal secretary and the other two were Yingli and Zhihao's mother. Four people in total and all of them had tight lips so it was hard for anyone to squeeze out any information about the man.

Li Ling could understand the curiosity of the man in front, but there was no way he was going to satisfy that curiosity.

In the end, all he could hope for was that this man doesn't hate the Gamemaster because of something so trivial.

It really would be a bit troublesome if he were to hate the Gamemaster for this. Li Ling had plans and his plans would not be going so smoothly if this man were to hate him.

"Why hate the man for it?" Li Ling asked as he masked away his worries behind a curious expression. If he wanted, he really could become a great actor with his great acting abilities.

Mr. Huang didn't answer the question and instead asked another question, "The Gamemaster of yours better have an answer for me. Why the hell is he making suicidal decisions and why are you saying yes to everything he says?"

The Gamemaster and Li Ling had the same authority, but both didn't have the right to make decisions on their own. The contract gave Li Ling the same power it gave Gamemaster, but both still depended on each other, at least for others they looked to be so. If Li Ling needed to make a decision, he would first need to consult the Gamemaster and if the Gamemaster made a decision, he would first need to contact Li Ling about it and get his consent to go ahead with the plan.

Without the Gamemaster, Li Ling can't make any decisions and without Li Ling, the Gamemaster was also just as helpless, so when Mr. Huang was angry at Li Ling, his anger was justified since, although the decision was taken by the Gamemaster, the one who gave consent to go through with it was Li Ling.

Hence, for Mr. Huang, he didn't care if he was talking to the Gamemaster or Li Ling, he was still going to openly show his dissatisfaction with the decision.

He was not happy with all the losses.

Luckily for Li Ling, he knew how to deal with people without having them want to kill him.

"I agreed to the decision because, in the long run, it was much more profitable. So what if we lose some pennies right now? Isn't it all good knowing that we'll be getting a lot more?"

Mr. Huang gritted his teeth as he spoke, "You sound too confident."

"Of course, I am confident. If I wasn't confident, why would I even be here? " Li Ling trusted himself so he was sure that no matter how crazy other people called him, in the end, he was still going to be the winner. He was a man who liked to plan every small thing and there weren't many times when his plans hadn't gone as he had wanted them to go.

In the end, he was sure that the people that called him crazy right now were going to wish they were as crazy as him.

It was a risky decision, all of his decisions were, but they always bore fruits.
