When did I get married

Yi Lan ran till she was out out of breath. Her body ached and a dull pain made her head throb. 'Damn, since when did my body grow so weak?!' She thought, letting out a warm breath.

On hearing some footsteps approaching her, she started to run again, only this time, in a much slower pace.

Just when Yi Lan thought she had got rid of the madmen behind her, she tripped and fell down flat on her face.

She let out a pained groan, as blood seeped out of her abdomen and head. Somehow, she dragged herself to a room and hid in one of its corners.

Yi Lan held her breath as the footsteps approached near the room. They paused for a second before continuing their way. Yi Lan let out a sigh of relief and stood up quickly, but her legs trembled and her eyesight blurred. Before she knew it, she fell down on the floor unconscious.

Back in the court room

The room's atmosphere was so tensed that everyone looked nervously at the Crown Prince. The said man, had a cool look on his handsome face, but rage swirled in his emerald green eyes.

He sat on a chair beside the throne, with a leg over the other and his hand supporting his chin. When the guards came back, he asked "Did you find her?"

The chief guard, noticeably scared, replied "Please forgive this lowly being Your highness. This lowly being was unable to find Lady Meng."

The Prince's lips curled up in a cold smile. "You can't even catch a single girl. How can you perform your job!? From now on, you are demoted to a sweeper."

The chief guard's face twisted in horror and he immediately fell to the ground on his knees. He kowtowed many times, begging for forgiveness, only to be dismissed by the Prince with a wave of his hand.

The people watching the scene gulped back their saliva. This Prince was quite different than the Prince they usually saw.

The Crown Prince then looked at the white robed man standing there. "Find out her location using your Qi skill."

The white robed man paled, and bowed down while saying "Forgive me, this servant is unable to do so as Lady Meng does not possess Qi."

The Crown Prince let out a sound of displeasure. "Be it him or you, either one is of no use."

The pale faced woman from earlier, who had shouted at Yi Lan stepped up. "If you may, Your Highness, I can find where Big Sister Meng is." Her face was now red like an apple, her coyness making men drool.

The woman was none other than Yi Meng's cousin- Yi Ruo. She was currently blushing, thinking about the reward that the Crown Prince would give her, on seeing her skills.

Her dreams were shattered when the Crown Prince snapped "Then what were you waiting for all this time!? Do you find it fun seeing this Prince in trouble?!"

Yi Ruo was shocked and she stammered out "N-n-no Your Higness, it's just that this skill takes a lot of energy and I had recently learnt it so I wasn-"

"Whatever, stop your blabbering. Show me where she is." The Crown Prince said impatiently.

Yi Ruo immediately nodded and her skin glowed a little as she let the Qi flow from her Qi pool to her eyes.

She let the Qi search for Yi Lan's presence.

Had Yi Lan seen this, she would have said it was just like a GPS.

After a few minutes, Yi Ruo opened her eyes and said in a sweet tone, "Your Higness, it seems that Big Sister Meng is in the room next to your bedroom."

The Crown Prince's eyes glinted as he stood up from his chair and immediately rushed out of the room. Yi Ruo was left there disappointed.

In just a few seconds, he reached the said place and broke the door. "Miss Meng, come out now. As you can see I have found you. Attacking the Prince is not a small matter. I'll make sure to punish you slowly, your resistance will be futile. Stop hiding and come out."

He walked over slowly, shifting furniture to see where she was. He stopped in his tracks when he saw a pair of feet behing a table.

He walked slowly to the place, expecting her to run out and attack but it didn't happen. When he saw her unconscious figure on the floor, he let out a sigh. 'That explains it.' he thinks. He notices the pool of blood she was lying in and makes an irritated face.

He yanks Yi Lan up with one hand and princess carries her to his room. On reaching his room, he tells the guard to bring the healer and lays Yi Lan on the bed.

He sits on the other side of the bed, with an annoyed look on his face. This woman made him angry, even though she hadn't said a word now.

He gazed at the beautiful face of the woman. 'Not bad, atleast I won't fall limp on our wedding night.' His thoughts stopped as his face darkened. He recollected the moment where she hit his precious member.

His momentary anger stopped when the healer arrived. The healer was a woman in her sixties, her face wrinkled with age but her eyes had a strange shine in them. She nodded to the Crown Prince but didn't say anything. She checked the pulse of Yi Lan and inspected her overall condition.

Then she asked the Prince to leave the room. The healer proceeded to remove the robe from Yi Lan's body and patched up the wound on her stomach, head and back. She only shook her head in pity on seeing the numerous scars on her back. The scar on her face stood out the most. The healer took care of that scar first and the scar was now just a faint white line on her face.

After taking care of her wounds, she took the chance to run Qi through her body, to check of there were any internal injuries. When she reached her heart, the healer was shocked to find out a fact. She immediately withdrew and called the Prince back in.

The Prince came in and asked the healer about her condition. The healer said "I fixed her physical injuries, but I found out something important."

In hearing the healer's tensed tone, the Prince asked cautiously "What is it?"

"She's a soul that has reincarnated into this body."

"What?!" A shocked look spreads across the Prince's face.

The healer nods. "Yes, I could feel the fluctuations in her soul energy. These fluctuations only take place when someone is pregnant or when someone has been born. The first condition is not the case. So the only answer is the second one. Even though she is not a baby, she has been reborn into this body. The previous Lady Meng no longer exists."

A gasp is heard and both the healer and the Crown Prince turn their head to see Yi Lan awake, with a look of horror on her face.

"No. No way. I refuse to believe this." she whispers.

The healer beside her holds her trembling hand in her wrinkled ones. "Girl, I don't know who you are. But remember this, the fact that you are here is a proof that you have died. This means that you have been given a second chance. A second chance to live. Take this chance and live in the present." Her tone was pleasant and her voice soothing.

Yi Lan had a look on her face that rarely appeared. Sadness flickered in her eyes." But my family..." she spoke, her voice so low and fragile that it felt as if it would break any time.

The healer smiles saying "I never told you to forget about them. Keep your memories. I'm sure your family wouldn't want you to forget them. They would want you to be happy. What do you say about living this life?"

The sadness disappears from Yi Lan's face and a determined look replaces them." That's right. No matter where I am, I am still me. I'll live life like each day's the last. I'm up for some chinese dramas and popcorn. Oh. I almost forgot. Can you tell me where I am? And who am I? Who are you? And what happened to the previous owner of the body? What Qi thingy are you talking about?"

The healer laughs."One question at a time.",She then turns toward the Prince, "Your highness, I'll leave it to you to explain. After all, she is your wife right?"

Yi Lan's jaw drops on hearing the last sentence. "When did I get married?!?! And that too to this stuck up prince?!?!"

She had only just noticed the prince and strangely, a dark look now covered his face. A wide smile was pasted on his face, but Yi Lan only got creepy vibes and glared at him continuously.

The healer only sighed and left the room on seeing the awkward couple.
