Bai Huai used to be a liberal arts student.

While I am the top student of the best Science University in the whole Nancheng.

Soon, other students learned the news about Bai Huai one after the other. Their eyes bore over him, and it literally changed from admiration to fear.

The great god that is supposed to be admired and praised turned into a monster that should be shrugged off.

Jian Songyi then finally understand at that moment why Bai Huai is doing comprehensive physics questions almost all the time since he met Bai Huai. He thought he was simply the hardworking type but it happens that that’s not typically the case.

Jian Songyi suddenly found the situation interesting.

In his memory, Bai Huai was a rational and mean person who was unlikely to make such a rash decision to transfer from Beicheng to Nancheng in the middle of high school without a valid reason.

But even if he is reckless enough, his father, who wants his son to learn literature to follow in his footsteps wouldn’t deliberately agree to transfer to a Science school. Even if Nanwai is said to be the best.

Jian Songyi feels that as a neighbor and deskmate, he should give a little empathy towards Bai Huai.

He exits the chat interface between Zhuo Luo and him, and then he proceeded to click on the white avatar.

[Why did you suddenly change schools when you’re already in the best liberal art school in Beicheng?”]

[Are you messing with your dad again?]

Just after sending his first two messages, he instantly received a reply from Bai Huai.

[Bored.]

“…..”

‘I really can’t with this man.’ Jian Songyi thought as he shrugged his head.

Bai Huai is a pure animal. He doesn’t deserve to be shown kindness whatsoever. Jian Songyi should not worry about his difficulties and unspeakable secrets. Bai Huai doesn’t deserve it.

At all.

Just as the bell rang in class, their physics teacher came in with their test papers. Jian Songyi was quick to stuff his phone under his table without replying to Bai Huai.

Shi Qing, Class One’s physics teacher, is a very young Alpha. He usually has a good relationship with his students. After entering the classroom, he directly asks the class representative to hand out the papers to its designated owner.

Jian Songyi’s full-mark paper is often used as a lecture paper.

Shi Qing’s disdainful voice came from the podium, “Jian Songyi, your handwriting looks like stir-fry noodles. I swear, my nephew has better handwriting than you.”

Shi Qing’s nephew is three years old.

Jian Songyi raised a brow at the comment. He was not embarrassed about it at all. “What’s the use of a pretty looking handwriting when it doesn’t give extra points? Stir-fry noodles lettering is just fine, or would you give me a 101 out of 100 if ever I improve it?”

“…..”

Bai Huai was not amused at all. He felt like Jian Songyi really need someone to teach him a lesson about manners and right conduct. His lips bent lower into a frown. With that, he picked his red pen and began to write something up on the last and yet hard question of the paper.

Jian Songyi glanced at him and found that Bai Huai barely scored in the last two questions. Jian Songyi thought that he needed to teach Bai Huai a lesson. “What kind of patience did you say you have the last time? If you didn’t lose your temper the other night then I might’ve helped you even more. I believe we’ve tackled this together. You didn’t listen. Now, look at your miserable grades.”

Bai Huai was calm and relaxed even after hearing Jian Songyi’s mocking. “Well, yes. You did teach me about this, but I thought of trying to experiment around this. Else, I would’ve ended up on top of your name yet again.”

“…..”

Irritating.

Jian Songyi pulled out a book from his desk and stopped talking.

Standing on the podium, Shi Qing could clearly see the movement at the back of the classroom. Although he could not hear what Jian Songyi was saying, it was rare for him to see that young student express emotions- whether it was happy or plain being sad. “Students, take out your papers. Let’s start with the last comprehensive question.”

“This question is from the independent admissions competition questions. This ought to be the proof that college entrance examinations are not that hard. But it disappoints me to think that only Jian Songyi worked it out and got the correct answer for the whole year level.”

For some unknown purpose, Jian Songyi glanced beside him again.

And to his surprise, he saw Bai Huai’s paper that he has been writing on with his red pen.

In red ink, was the correct step-by-step procedures all the way to the correct answer to the problem. Jian Songyi bit back his tongue.

This guy is – Forget it.

Classes regarding test questions discussions and checking pass on quickly.

As soon as the bell rang after the last class, the students rushed to the wall of the school’s small garden cafeteria to buy some food.

Only Bai Huai and Jian Songyi were the ones left inside their room to wait for their maid to deliver their meal. In fact, Bai Huai doesn’t pay too much attention to his appetite, mainly because he is picky.

He doesn’t eat if he does not feel like consuming food. Even if he has a stomachache, so long as he is not in the mood, he would not put food into his mouth.

After so many years of practicing this bad habit of his, he had gotten used to it and never had the chance to correct it. No wonder he had lost so much weight.

Bai Huai glanced over to the guy sitting next to him. Jian Songyi was busily playing games on his phone. “I’ll go down to retrieve our food.”

As soon as he got up, the fame of the front door opened without notice along with two basketball balls, bouncing off the ground.

“Hey, the rain had stopped. The international class is going to play. Will you go or not?”

Standing at the door of their classroom was also an Alpha. An alpha as tall as Bai Huai with strong facial features and a sparse smile playing across his lips. “Bai Huai is here too, I see. Long time no see. You two are spending an ample amount of time together?”

Lu Qi Feng and Bai Huai have known each other, but it’s not like they’re close nor that familiar with each other.

Lu Qi Feng’s opening statement was only out of his politeness. It was only to avoid an awkward atmosphere. He was not sure how to coordinate with Bai Huai yet, so he tried to just state the obvious.

But sure enough, only one word came out of Bai Huai’s mouth. “No.” His tone was so cold that there was no sense of existence nor enthusiasm to carry on the conversation.

Jian Songyi took the MVP title in the game the last time. Upon hearing the words ‘international team’, he could not help but smirk amusedly. His dark eyes quickly enveloped with overflowing mischief on them. He stood up lazily and stretched his bones a little.

“Let’s go.”

4th year Class One’s classroom is on the first floor of the north building. It’s next to the small basketball court.

After a whole summer of the rainy season, gloomy days had finally come to an end. After the sky came clear of clouds with small paddles still patched up on the ground of the open court, the boys still showed up there to play nevertheless.

If they wouldn’t be able to play even just for a few rounds then they would be uncomfortable and end up itching through their bones. That’s just how bad they wished for the rain to stop and finally do some sports.

Seven or eight people came to the international class while Jian Songyi came with five. With that, they’re eligible to play with naturally divided players on their respective teams.

Jian Songyi loosely grabbed the ball with his fingertips as the ball hits the ground carelessly. He then asked, “Half-court? Or shall we play in whole four quarters?”

“There are so many people. Let’s see it through the fourth quarter.”

“Alright.” Jian Songyi scratched his wrist before throwing the ball in Huang Fuyi’s direction. “You serve first.”
