Chapter 529: Ridiculous Legacy

One of the villagers stepped out of the village hall and put two fingers in his mouth before whistling loudly.

The whistle echoed across the air, and several ravens started flapping their wings. They leaped off the roofs and started flying towards the source of the whistle.

The villager received a written letter from Branton before leaving the village hall. He held it in a gentle grip and soon saw several black ravens appearing in the sky.

They quickly descended and flew around the villager before landing on the snowy ground.

The villager knelt on the ground and took one of the ravens into his palm. Then, he tied the letter into its leg.

After that, he patted the raven's feathers, and it started flapping its wings before leaping towards the light blue sky.

The village turned silent as the black raven disappeared into the horizon. Everyone held their breaths as the clock continued ticking clockwise.

Branton and Alessia slightly fixed up their armors. They left their houses in a hurry and couldn't take a proper look in the mirror. Now, the legendary Society Leader of Winter Mountain was coming!

Arthur rested his chin on his palm and rhythmically tapped his feet against the floor, "This is interesting."

Kalzer daydreamed while looking towards empty air. Since entering the mountain, he only spoke a few words while not participating in any fighting.

Amour cleaned the blade of his axe. The scene worried the villagers while flashes of images appeared in their minds. They still remembered vividly how Blair lost.

Xerxus leaned against the chair's backrest while humming a merry tone. He seemed relaxed.

Isaac took a spray can from his inventory and took a second look at the Silvercloud. The black color started peeling off, and the beautiful silvery hue peeked through.

Szzzzz!

He pressed the spray can and re-colored the gun in black.

'God damn it!' Silvercloud screamed inside his mind.

'Hehe.' Silvernium laughed.

After half an hour.

The villagers stationed outside the village hall heard a sound traveling from the sky. Their eyes shone in brilliant hue as they turned towards the horizon. From there, they saw a scene that they wouldn't forget in a million years.

From the horizon, ten flying reindeer appeared while pulling a sleigh!

The reindeer seemed to be galloping on top of clouds while pulling the sleigh behind them. The weird thing was that the heavy sleigh looked quite light when looking far.

"Hahahaha…" An calming laughter drifted across the air, causing the villagers to flush in excitement.

Ring!

The bells rang in the village, welcoming the Society Leader in style.

Slowly, the herd of reindeer stepped onto the cold ground, and the sleigh followed, gently landing on the ground.

The sleigh stopped in front of the village hall's door; the villagers saw the person sitting in the sleigh and immediately stepped to the side, allowing the Society Leader to enter the building.

Inside the hall, Branton and Alessia stood up and bowed towards the doors. After that, every village inside the building turned towards the doors and knelt.

Tap, tap, tap.

A round-bellied man stepped into the hall. He wore all-red clothes while a fluffy white beard adorned his face. At first glance, he looked like a gentle grandpa.

"Hohohoho, we have guests." He caressed his beard while looking at Arthur and the rest. A small smile was seen underneath the beard, and the building's atmosphere turned peaceful.

All tension disappeared in a flash.

[Name: Christian Winter]

[Legacy: Santa Claus]

[Legacy Rank: Mythical]

"Nice to meet you; my name is Arthur Welhenheim." Arthur stood up from the chair and bowed out of courtesy. After decades of experience, he had learned to mask his expressions and emotions. However, now he couldn't.

'He has a legacy of Santa Claus?! That old geezer actually chose someone?!'

Isaac's mouth twitched while trying to stop his laughter, 'What the hell… Pfft.'

Xerxus and Amour covered their mouths with their hands. Behind their hands, a small smile peeked.

Kalzer bit his lip while acting like he was looking out of the frost-covered windows.

"Sir!" Branton and Alessia straightened their backs with proud looks.

"Sit, sit," Christian said while taking a seat in the main seat. After he sat, Branton and Alessia sat down.

The villagers poured inside the building and got seated at the enormous table.

Even Kornwell and Hallwell, with their mother, arrived.

The three apprentices that got knocked out by Xerxus were taken to the village doctor by them, and after that, they came here.

"Now, the letter mentioned that you five want to rest here before continuing your journey?" Christian patted his large belly while asking.

"Yes, sir." Arthur nodded, keeping a calm facade, "We would be here only a few days and then leave."

"Are you chased by someone?" Christian's voice entered his ears. The villagers widened their eyes in surprise and held their breaths.

Arthur sadly sighed and nodded, "Unfortunately, we are."

"Unfortunately? Hmm…" Christian rubbed his long beard, "By whom?"

"A person named Lunatic Souldeath." Arthur immediately saw the villagers having a change in their expressions. They looked startled before becoming angry.

"Souldeath… those bastards."

"They are still hanging around these parts?"

"I thought our Society Leaders gave them a lesson they would never forget."

"What was that old geezer's name…"

"Lord… Lord Souldeath, that bastard came here saying that he wanted us to join his army… how dare they think he could use us as his slaves?!"

"Right, they even insulted our dear King!"

"Heh, I still remembered their faces when our Society Leaders appeared. Their jaws dropped to the ground!"

The villagers turned into heated discussions.

"Silence!" Branton's powerful voice silenced everyone. Then, he turned to Christian and bowed.

Christian sighed and rubbed his beard, "That name is not a pleasant memory, indeed…"

"Yes, they are very unreasonable people." Arthur nodded as he agreed.

"Alright." Christian made his decision, "Mountain of Winter is in my control. However, there is someone even above me. He is called The Man At Peak, and I don't know how he reacts to having guests…"

Arthur opened his mouth, trying to change his mind.

However, Christian waved his hand and said, "However, we haven't seen him in a decade, so I approve of your stay. Within a week, you five must be gone from here."

"Thank you!" Arthur heaved a sigh of relief, but then one word caught his attention, "In a decade? Right… I heard The Man At Peak was over three hundred years old; how is that possible?"

.

"He is Chain Breaker, right?" Amour suddenly quipped.

"Chain Breaker…" Christian shook his head, "No… He isn't Chain Breaker."

The faces of the five varied. They all looked shocked while Arthur's eyes rippled like he couldn't believe it.

"Instead, he is a person at equal standing to those legendary Legacy Figures. The Man At Peak is also a Legacy Figure!"

"How is that possible?!" Arthur jumped to his feet, "I-I thought all the Legacy Figures were dead and was found in Underworld, thus being able to reincarnate. However, all of them should have been gone from this world."

"You seem to know a lot…" Christian's look turned mysterious as he looked at Arthur, "I am not sure about reincarnation, etc. But this world isn't completely weak. While most of the current Legacy Figures got their immense power from World of White, there are people here who could rival them!"

"Please, I need to know who he is." Arthur's voice shook as he seemed to be panicking!

The four men looked surprised to see the calm Arthur acting like this.

"I am sorry, but even I don't know his true name." Christian said with a sorry smile, "All I know is that he lives on top of all the mountains, in the place where all mountains get connected."

"At the top of the mountainside, there is Ice Castle, which is his home. If you want to find him, go there. But, I am warning you, he doesn't like outsiders."
