Matthew Xi ended the call before Zoey could answer. He might not say anything, but Kenneth Bai could feel the ominous aura that enveloped around them. 

"Uhm... Bro, what I'm saying is, you should be more lively, I mean celebrate! Because the woman you like now likes you back!" Trying to ignore the suffocating aura surrounding them, Kenneth Bai gulped as he advised. 

Since Matthew Xi didn't speak another word after his revelation about his relationship with the peculiar woman, Kenneth Bai tried to make sense into it by spouting nonsense. However, just as he was blubbering, Matthew Xi's phone rang with a cringy song sung by a deaf tone woman. 

Ignoring Kenneth Bai, Matthew Xi dialed another contact number in his phone before placing it on his ear. 

It only took one ring for the call to be answered, "I changed my mind, cancel the plan." Matthew Xi said, ending the line even before the other person could respond. 

As soon as the order was received, Matthew Xi's men executed it efficiently. Within the next ten minutes, all people who were dragged in his unreasonable rampage could finally heave a sigh of relief. 

The only person who was still enraged about it was Enzo Li, throwing a huge fit inside RB Entertainment: CEO's office. Nevertheless, with a word from Matthew Xi, everyone's lives returned to normal as if nothing happened. 

Obviously, the only ones who knew it was Matthew Xi's doing were the people who were close to him: Ruby Xi, Enzo Li, and Paul Qian. 

Others like Paul Qian's parents, sister, and his friends who received a memo that it was an 'honest mistake' and would receive compensation. Hence, none of them had an idea that it wasn't just an honest mistake but was done by an evil and jealous man. 

Truly, Matthew Xi's influence could be a blessing and at the same time destructive. He knew that very well, but he never truly used it in this kind of means before today. 

"Ken,"

"Yes, Brother Matt?" Startled for a bit, Kenneth Bai slightly jumped from his seat as he turned his attention back to Matthew Xi. However, instead of speaking, Matthew Xi was typing in his phone which made Kenneth Bai knit his brows. 

Shortly after, Kenneth Bai received a message before Matthew Xi slowly stood from his seat. "Do me a favor. I want those tonight in the address I gave you." 

With that being said, Matthew Xi trudged away while Kenneth Bai checked what he sent him. Upon seeing the list Matthew Xi gave, his face distorted in disbelief as he gasped. 

"Tonight?!" Dismayed, Kenneth Bai shouted while Matthew Xi was departing the place. 

"I won't place our bid for the island you've been eyeing." Although Matthew Xi's tone didn't raise, Kenneth Bai heard him loud and clear, causing his eyes to light up. 

"Tonight it is!" Excited, Kenneth Bai immediately contacted his trusted assistant. 

"Ready my baby girl, I'm about to go on a shopping spree!" Kenneth Bai stated through the phone, the corner of his lips stretched into a wide grin.

Hours later...

"Boss Zhou, we're going home!" Melanie Xue peeked inside Zoey's office, bidding her goodbye for the day as it was already six in the evening. 

"Mhmm," Glancing at the door where Melanie Xue was at, Zoey hummed a tune as she nodded her head. 

With that, Melanie Xue closed the door and left Zoey alone. Leaning back, Zoey sighed as she cocked her head to the transparent window where she could see how bright the sky was. 

"Jeez, it's a good thing he called a sick leave... I think I've calmed down a little." She murmured, patting her chest as her decision to confess grew firmer in time. 

Still, she was nervous. Nervous how to say everything; nervous if she could even express her feelings properly. 

Zoey recalled her conversation with Vivian Xi, making her frown for a reason. "Aunty Xi is really kind..." Zoey whispered as she sighed. 

Just then, Zoey's peace was disturbed as her phone vibrated on the surface of her desk, causing an annoying vibration sound. Zoey arched her brows, glancing at the screen and saw it was Cora Ma. Hence, she sprawled her arms to reach for her phone and answered. 

"Yes?"

"Z, where are you?" Sounding she was happy for her day, Cora Ma inquired. 

"How's Patrizio?" Yet, instead of answering, Zoey questioned back. 

"Oh god, Z! He's just amazing! He introduced me to some people he knew and even introduced an amazing coordinator to me who will arrange the wedding! I'm still overwhelmed..." Cora Ma prattled on and on, excited to share her ventures today as she had fun in Patrizio Moretti's company. On the other hand, Zoey listened and nodded her head with a gentle smile on her lips.

"Anyway, Z, thank you very much! I really, really owe you a lot." Ending her endless stories, Cora Ma expressed herself as she calmed down a bit. 

"That's nothing, you're my bestie." 

"Z, are you alright? You sound a little off..."

"Yes, I am." Inhaling and exhaling heavily, Zoey forced a smile on her lips. "Anyway, I'll be hanging up. I have a date with Matthew later."

"Oh, okay?" As soon as Cora Ma said that, the line ended while her brows furrowed. Did she just hear Zoey call Browny, Matthew?

"Weird..." Cora Ma muttered, before she shrugged her shoulders and headed back to Zoey's place as Patrizio Moretti's driver dropped her off.

Meanwhile, Zoey puffed her cheeks before sending a message to Patrizio Moretti. 

[Thank you for today. I transferred two percent of my shares under your name. Congrats, B*tch!

Within a minute after Zoey's message was sent, she received a kiss emoji from Patrizio Moretti and followed by, "Sweet! I'm throwing a party tonight, and here's the address: 143 xxx st xxx. If ever your seduction fails this time, I'll help you forget! I invited tons of hotties~! See you!?"

Upon reading his reply, Zoey chuckled as she could hear the message. "Damn Patty, he's not even expecting good news." 

Shaking her head, Zoey checked the time before she slowly stood from her seat. Checking Matthew Xi's last message, she bit her lower lips. 

If she moved to reach the place he had asked her to meet, she would make it in time. Hence, Zoey breathed heavily and closed her eyes.. When she opened them again, a determined glint flickered across her eyes as she trudged out to meet the man who would sentence the old Zoey to live or die.
