Wild Young Miss: Mister, Let's Kiss!

Chapter 602 - Sixth Commandment XV

"Beth, you know that Mom has been putting more pressure on me. We can't survive if we don't do this." In distress, Zach exclaimed along with a heavy sigh.

Just recently, Zach had been walking on thin ice in his work. If not for his close friend in work, he wouldn't confirm that it was his family's doing behind the scenes. They were giving excess work to him to make extra hassle for him.

But ever since Zach reconciled with Sarah, things changed. His life grew easier and he could just idle if he wanted to. There were a lot of benefits being with Sarah than blatantly fighting for Beth.

He only needed to pretend to love Sarah, and Zach and Beth could live in peace. It was evil, but it was his way for him and for Beth -- also their child -- to survive. However, unbeknownst to them their plans were being heard by their innocent victim who did nothing but love and forgive Zach.

Sarah's entire body shivered as she was rendered speechless. She could feel her heart pound against her chest as sweat broke out from her back and forehead.

Slowly, Sarah took a step back as the paper bag she was holding, fell to the ground. Her lower lip trembled, but her eyes couldn't bring out the tears that should be falling. Zach had betrayed her repeatedly and she forgave her.

She had accepted him; his flaws, his lackings, his all. And yet, once again, Zach betrayed her for the nth time. This betrayal was the last straw for everything.

It was too much for her to take in that she felt a sudden contraction inside her womb. However, Sarah only placed her hand on her tummy and dragged her feet away.

She felt suffocated; she could barely breath as her heart was being clenched by those words of betrayal.

Why?

Was being kind a sin? Was loving a mistake? Was forgiving and fighting for her husband wrong all along?

Where did she lack?

A lot of questions muddled her mind but no clear answer was given. Sarah could hear her heart break as fragments of her love fell with each passing step.

'Beth…' Yet, the seed of anger that had been long planted and now growing drastically was directed to Beth and not entirely to Zach.

Sarah didn't realize how she returned to the car and now they're back at home. It was as if she was stuck in a loop of overhearing the conversation between Zach and Beth.

The longer the thought of them lingered in her mind, her anger intensified. As soon as Sarah entered the mansion, Jean was there.

Upon laying her eyes on Sarah's devastated expression, Jean knitted her brows. "Madam?"

Jean softly called out, but Sarah ignored her as if she didn't hear the former. Sarah continued her steps, dragging her feet as her eyes were lifeless.

"Sarah," Just as Sarah was near the staircase, she heard the old madam's voice whom Sarah failed to notice in the living area.

Sarah didn't turn around and just hung her head low while holding on the staircase handrail. She couldn't bring herself to face her mother-in-law, afraid she would bawl her eyes out and speak out of anger.

"What happened?" The old man inquired with a cold tone. She could tell that there was something wrong with just a glance at Sarah's figure.

Jean had told her that Sarah went to Zach's workplace. But Sarah came home as if the entire world wronged her. The old madam could guess what happened; it was obvious.

After all, the old madam heard that Zach and Beth were still together. The reason she was here to check on Sarah. Not that the old madam planned to warn Sarah, she just wanted to make sure that her daughter-in-law was fine.

The old madam had her own plans and wouldn't mind taking in action in secret. However, by the looks of it, it was late and Sarah already knew about it. Poor soul.

"No-- nothing, mother. I'm just tired." Sarah weakly answered, shaking her head as she didn't even bat an eye to her mother-in-law.

"Did you bring Zach's lunch?"

"Yes, I did." Sarah answered with the same tone. Yet, she couldn't help but hold on the staircase handrail tightly as her jaw tightened.

"Did he enjoy it?"

"Ye -- yes…"

"But your tone and expression tell me otherwise." In a matter-of-fact tone, the old madam didn't beat around the bush as she didn't feel the need to.

Slowly, the old madam stood from her seat and trudged towards Sarah's side. "Child, you don't have to bottle it up. I know."

The old madam reached to Sarah's hand. She pity Sarah. Even though Zach was her child, she favored Sarah more as she was a very kind person. Also, the old madam could relate to her situation as she was in the same situation in the past.

The old madam could understand the pain, the questions that filled her mind, and loving someone until there's nothing left for them.

"Don't worry, mother is here." The old madam guided Sarah to face her.

As soon as Sarah raised her gaze and laid her eyes upon her mother-in-law, her eyes instantly welled up. Sarah bit her lower lip as hard as she could until the taste of blood lingered in her tongue.

"Mom…" Sarah softly called out as tears started rolling down her cheek.

The old madam's eyes softened as she held her in a tight embrace. "My child," The old madam whispered as she caressed Sarah's back gently.

"I'm here. I'm sorry for failing as his mother."

The old madam apologized as Zach was her son. The old madam felt that she was responsible for everything as she was the one who proposed this marriage.

"I hate them, Mom. I hate them. I want to kill her… this is all her fault…!" Out of overwhelming emotions, Sarah recklessly expressed her rage to Beth and to Zach.

It was the two of them that put her in this misery. Thus, Sarah wouldn't let them have their happiness.

"I know. Mother is here. I'll help you, okay?" As the old madam consoled her, her eyes glinted as she also blamed Beth for seducing her son.

Both Sarah and Madam only put a small portion of the blame to Zach.. The rest, it was all on Beth as both of them were utterly biased.
