World After Worlds

Chapter 108 - MONKEY

"Lapil, you have a great name," Yanarym commented and looked at his hand which was holding her tightly but it didn't hurt her. "Can you let me go?"

"Yes," he said but still holding her arms. They stayed like that for a while before he let her go. When they parted ways, Yanarym unhurriedly strode to the river and Lapil did go to the tree to guard.

Yanarym took off her clothes one by one. She was not an exhibitionist but coming to this world she somehow gets used to being naked outdoors. Particularly whenever she bathes.

Fortunately, Achis had no fetish for outdoor activity. They don't leave her bedroom if he was asking for it. What she did not expect was that Achis was more of a romantic man when it comes to coupling.

Lapil heard the splash of the water on the river. He gaped in her direction and saw her back facing him. Her hair was so short that he could see her nape down to her porcelain back, the water made her skin translucent while the sunlight reflected. He was just going to take a glance however, he did not anticipate that watching her take a bath could be so alluring that he forgot to look away.

Her white skin turns red whenever she scrubs it using the stone she picked on the river. It was fascinating to see how it seemed so tender and smooth. Just from a light rubbing, it will blush pink.

Her slender figure dances along with the water. She turns around and they lock eyes. It was for a few seconds before her eyes widened, looking surprised as she submerged.

Lapil blinks his eyes comprehending what happened. He averted his eyes somewhere else, he cursed himself silently for scaring her.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to peek." The distance was enough for her to hear him. Yanarym went up and took a gasp of air, she covered her bosom using her arms. She was about to leave the river when she saw her clothes were about to get stolen by a monkey.

"LAPIL!" She called out in panic. She can't walk without upper clothes like before, no hair could cover her tits. "My clothes!" She screamed pointing to the monkey playing with her t-shirt.

Lapil glanced at her, who was concealing her body from the neck below to the river in the direction she was pointing on. Her nose and her eyes were the only display for him to see with her delicate arms and fingers stretched to the monkey.

He took his dagger with no second thought and threw it in the monkey's direction. It got hit directly to its body. Yanarym was bewildered as she saw the body of the animal get thrown from the sudden attack. It smacked on the tree then fell on the vines. The little monkey started to bleed profusely.

Without caring if naked or not she runs off out to the water and kneeled to the dying making. She covered her mouth looking mortified and shifted her eyes at Lapil.

"It-it's dying. He's struggling..." She mumbled, holding her tears. She directed back her gaze to the monkey who was vying to breathe.

"I...I'm s-sorry." She firmly closed her eyes and took the knife from its body and sliced its neck for it to die quickly.

When she felt that it's not struggling anymore, she opened her eyes and immediately wiped her tears away.

Lapil on the other hand stared at her body which was now covered in blood. Holding his dagger to her one hand while the other was pulsing the animal. With no shame she stood up, the shy woman, hiding in the water earlier was nowhere to be seen.

He gaped at her body naked body, it's a full view for him. There was blood splattered even to her face and wet hair. The spectacle was making Lapil breathless. He had not admired any woman before but from her docile demeanor, she had changed into a feisty one.

"You're not going to blame me?" Lapil asked out of curiosity. She handed his dagger back to him, and it was still bloody.

Women were all the same, they were too emotional for their good. She was like everyone else, crying for a life that doesn't matter. She feared him earlier, what does she think of him now? Killing something with no remorse.

"It's just a monkey." She said firmly. The tone of agony could be heard but her statement contradicts her expression. "Thank you for saving my clothes." She added.

She took her clothes and dressed up, she stood and grinned at Lapil. "Let's bury him." She took the dead monkey in her arms and carried it back to the forest and found a good resting place for its burial.

"Your clothes are dirtied." Lapil followed her from behind, "Let me carry that." She avoided him and shook her head.

"It's fine. I was thinking of making new ones anyway."

"Are you angry?"

"No," she replied instantly, "Why would I? You just killed a monkey."

"Are you mad because of that?" He asked again and Yanarym gawked her eyes at him, did not say anything. "You are," Lapil concluded, perceiving her glare.

"I'll bury him here." She announced when she found a big tree with flowers beside it. She took her dagger hidden in the pocket of her slacks. Then the scabbard and use the blade to dig the ground beside the tree. Lapil watched her do what she wanted, she ignored him the whole time. She was angry at him for killing the monkey.

He doesn't understand why but he chooses to remain silent. When she dug enough depth she tore her clothes, making her stomach exposed. She used the fabric from her odd dress to wrap the carcass of the furry creature.. As she finished burying it, she instilled it by kneeling to its tomb. Lapil is watching her attentively, "Why?"
