World After Worlds

Chapter 72 - CONTROVERSY

"Kane is my healing potion, Kane won't let me get physical damage. And my cute cinnamon roll, he uplifts my mood every time! Hahahaha!"

Guide-sama: "A true player knows how to equip herself in her own battle. I should idolize you, right? Why does it feel so wrong to do so?"

"... Guide-sama ..."

Guide-sama: "yes?"

"Shut up."

Yanarym's phone was on airplane mode, she only used the WiFi while her media account was deactivated as per the agency managing the situation. She could receive no calls or messages from anyone, even her telephone outlet was not plugged in. The only noise that was banging her entire condominium was the sound of her stereo at a full volume. She lowered the volume when she heard the constant ringing of the doorbell.

She looked at the intercom to see who it was. It was Alvan with his black-over-all clothes. "How did you get here? There are a lot of reporters downstairs." She opened the door and smiled at him. He didn't smile back, instead, he got inside and closed her door. He took off his mask and hat and examined her body and cupped her face.

"Are you alright?" He asked with his eyes filled with concern. She smiled at him and bobbed her head to respond to him. "Don't worry, brother is on it. He'll fix everything." He said again and hugged her. "Don't worry???"

"I'm fine," she smiled at him, but it didn't help him feel any better. "Really, I'm alright." She assured him and tiptoed to kiss his cheeks. "You're the one who shouldn't worry."

Alvan was awoken early by his older brother's non-stop calls. He had a load of schedule that he was so tired to his bones. Alyx was currently in Paris doing his business thing while Alvan was busy promoting Yanarym's career without her being in the industry. While Kane, he heard Kane came home yesterday after his seminar from the states. He was only sleeping for three hours when Alyx called him. He tried ignoring him at first but he kept on calling him.

"What?! It's seven o'clock for fuck's sake!"

"Are you sleeping?"

"Of course, I am! Did I just tell you the time right now?!"

"Well, if you have time to sleep, you should have time to check your account."

"Brother, I only have three hours of sleep for 36 hours! Can you spare---"

"Yanarym is on trending, Alyana posted the photos and video clip."

"---me, what? What did you say?" His drowsy demeanor changes in an instant. He stood up from his bed and took his laptop and opened the social media. He was devastated seeing all the ruckus and fuss. Yanarym was being cursed and insulted from left to right.

"I already told Martis to delete the photos and video but it was already copied by someone else and re-posted."

"What should I do?"

"You should go to Rym, be with her until I get back."

"Okay."

"Take care of her. And don't make her use her phone or watch the news."

"I'm gonna go."

"Bye." He didn't bother to take a bath and change his clothes to go incognito. He brought his phone, wallet and car keys. And drove as fast as he could to reach her location. When he got there, the reporters were already swarming all over the building. Because this building is owned by Alyx he knew some secret access to enter the building without being caught. But he deliberately let some of the reporters take photos of him.

He hastened his pace to see her as soon as he could. He was worried that she might be depressed by what was happening. It took time before the fans accepted their love team, she was working hard although she's not really good at keeping up her energy to work overnight. And when their pair was supported by someone, she was so happy. What would she feel if everyone changed their perspective of her? Alvan was aware that she wasn't as interested as he is in the entertainment industry but she grew to like it. She must be anxious about the current turmoil she's undergoing.

Yet, seeing her composed and cheerfully sweet as she always is, he pressed his lips together and had a sigh of relief.

"Hmm, I'm eating cheesecake, do you want to have a bite?" She said a mellow whisper like she was coaxing him to calm down. He snuggled on her body tightly and hummed as a reply. But he couldn't help but think about those rude comments about her online. How could they judge her as they knew her? They know nothing about her at all. She was the most sincere, caring, and loving woman he had ever met.

"Let's go inside."

"Yeah, make sure not to look at your social media or news, okay? Especially in the comment section. People there are the worst." He murmured to her and set her free from the embrace. "I will confiscate your phone for the time being."

"Why?" She pouted and hid her phone from him.

"Rym, give it."

"But I am reading ZPOP!"

"Read some other book, I bought you the first book of World after Worlds, have you finished it already?"

"Fine." She gave up her phone and walked to the living room. Alvan followed next to her and kept her phone in the pocket of his jeans. He took off his jacket and hung it on the coat rack.

"Wait, wait, I had a better idea, let's just watch an animation movie." She paused and took the remote to the coffee table, but Alvan suddenly grabbed the remote from her and turned it off.

"Wait, close your eyes first." Yanarym crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes on him.

"Alvan." She sighed, "Calm down, okay? Give me the remote, you are overreacting. I'm fine! SEE?!"

"No, close your eyes.." They exchanged glances before Yanarym gave up and closed her eyes as she grumbled.
