World Of Warcraft: Altered Time

Chapter 16 - Ragefire Part 3

An hour later they were in a cavern for off the path. It would have been a lot faster but they kept running into patrols. Azul wanted to kill the orcs but Vladmir "convinced" him not to. This didnt work with all the patrols Some were way past gone and didnt relent. For those already completely consumed by fel magic, there was only one option.

Death to fallen. The cultists that followed even helped. With each slain member there conviction to be free of the corruption intensified. Azul even saw the icon appear on them. Apparently his magic considered them to be in his party. Just as "followers" instead. They appeared on the map in yellow.

Once arriving and feeling the magic in the air Azul got started. Nocturne spent this time treating the orcs that they had gathered. Her devotion to the light was able to alleviate some of the pain and helped weaken the hold of fel magic.

Vladmir went around each of the orcs and carved a set of words of there hearts. It was symbolic in nature but was infused with magic. Vtoroy shans. When they asked what it meant he told them, they would know after the ritual.

"Ready?" Vladmir asked Azul.

"Yup. As ready as I will ever be."

The spot was unable to house a Home base. But it could do an Altar. He made one to Bane since this was what the orcs would follow more with anyway. In the center was a bowl Azul was to stand inside of it. Completely n.a.k.e.d. Once the healing was done, Nocturne did her duties as his priestess. She came over and slit his arms and legs. They didnt bleed or heal up in any way. She came to his c.h.e.s.t and carved a deep cut over it. Carefully to not do any damage.

"There all done," Nocturne said almost whispering. "If it wasn't fel energy.. I would be able to help. But I am free of that. And Athena said I can help with this portion. Demona would be able to help with everything fully though." Her voice had a little derision in it. "The moment you finished the altar, her voice came through it."

"It will be fine. Your job is to guard me now." Azul said. He gave her a pat on the shoulder. "It will be fine. It is what comes after." Nocturne nodded and stepped back. "Come forward orcs."

Each of them did so. The male and female orcs were quite scared. But they did not let there grip their hearts. To be free of the taint would be a blessing. One they would not pass on.

As Azul released his holy energy out, it bore into the orcs. Directly into the inscription on there c.h.e.s.ts. Where they stood every where the holy energy coursed through them blood would leave there pores. The blood was pulled down to their feet and pooled. when the blood pool reached a certain level The holy energy would stop.

The fel energy would leave the blood and travel to the bowl Azul stood in. The fel energy jumped into his body like jackals at a rabbit. The fel energy rampaged inside his body trying to take control. Carrying the sweet whispers of power. They fell on deaf ears. Azul had experienced more power than they could ever offer him. His pulled the energy in making it his own. The altar speeding up the process of refining it.

As soon as it was refined the new holy energy was sent back out into the orcs starting the process all over again. Three hours later the first orc was done. He stepped out to the side to Vladmir who looked him up and down. Grabbing a heat rock from his inventory he took the shaman energy from it and placed it on the orc. Right under the marking. It was a totem. Nothing to powerful, just a small totem of Bane to guard the heart against corruption.

"Sit meditate. The path of the Shaman is a long one." Vladmir said smiling. The orc gave him a nod and did so. He started to speak with the spirits. He was unaware that the spirits he would speaking to were not from Azeroth. Spirits from the domain of Athena and Bane communed with him. Teaching him their ways of being a Shaman.

After another ten minutes, another orc finished. The same process was done. The next finished in 8 minutes then 6 minutes. Finally the last three. They were the ones most steeped in fel magic.

"Rawwr," the demon they had contracted emerged from the three. It swung its clawed hands down to strike Azul.

"Arghhh, you filthy elf!" It screamed. "I will devour your soul myself." It turned to engage her.

"Shouldn't we help them!?" Whitehorn asked alarmed. "Well?"

"No. They can handle it. Do not insult the woman. Besides if we do.. the ritual will be interrupted." Vladmir said not leaving from his spot. He pointed to a circle that went around them and the altar. It was composed of arcane energy to prevent any prying eyes from looking in. He was keeping his eye more on the map to make sure no one was coming. "She can handle it no problem. Keep your self stilled more than anything."

"Very well then," Whitehorn said. He turned to his two companions. "What do you think of this?"

"I think we should have joined them." The warrior said. "But I will not leave the Horde, it is my home." His partner remained quiet and watched. He gripped his axe and shield. His focus was on the demon if it failed or Azul if he turned into one.

"Hah!" Nocturne grunted as she cut off the legs of the demon. Using her arcane energy she threw them into the bowl. "Tsk, tsk, you are pathetic. I could kill a demon of your strength when I was 15." She smirked trying to goad the demon into wasting more of its power. It worked. "Your pathetic. Your horns are really tiny to. Just like your little..."

"Die!" The demon bellowed out "Fire Nova!" A circle of fire left its mouth. The green fel power becoming darker. With the small distance, the demon didnt think it would miss. It didnt.

"Bweem," it went right through Nocturne. Who disappeared instantly. The ring of fire hit Azul in the c.h.e.s.t. With the fel energy in the bowl, it became even stronger. The bowl burned with power. A pulse of holy energy went out hitting the three again. The last of the fel blood leaving there bodies. Hastily they ran from the demon to Vladmir who was watching. He then rembered to do the markings.

"Thank you." The first orc said. " I am Korag. Will he be ok?" He pointed at the bowl with Azul in it.

(Grace of Bane: Those rebirthed by Bane, have more trouble then most. Leaving a life of weakness behind to bring destruction to the world in her name. Stats increased by 100% For the first day of life.)

"Brother, we are weakening but there is a stronger power within me." One of the few females said. "I can feel it weakening over time. I didnt have enough time to commune with a spirit either. I think it best we destroy as many of those troggs as we can. That is what my blood is telling me to do."

"We will Korra. We will. Just keep your mind focus. Something tells me, we must do that above all else." Korag said.

"You are right," Vladmir said leading the way. "The spirits are that of war. You must be careful as they can lead you to salvation or destruction. Do not worry, you will be fine. I will make sure you remain in control of yourselves. Or I will end your life myself."

"Then we must get rid of these creatures to get to our training then," Korag said grimly.

"Aye that we do," Vladmir said. The troggs were just three feet away. "Wargghh!" His battle cry stunned them as he and the other orcs barreled into the creatures.

-Back with the ritual-

After Nocturne image disappeared, she returned back in the same space. It was a unique ability she had acquired upon leveling up. She never had a use for it in battle, till now.

"Hyah!" Here blade came up cutting the demon across the throat. Its blood joining the rest of the fel blood in the bowl. Nocturne didnt stop as she stepped again. This time in a spinning arc as she severed the demon's head. "Schlick," it came right off. Wrapping the remains in magic she dropped it into the bowl.

"What are you doing?!" The one orc question. He had remained behind to make sure Azul didnt turn into a demon.

"What does it look like?" Nocturne asked bored. She was holding her sword at her side as she looked into the flame. She actually knew what Azul was doing but didnt know why he was doing it. "Tch, I dont like this at al. But orders are orders." Looking down the path she thought about going to join the fight. She shook that away instantly. "No my place is here."

"Consorting with demons!" The orc yelled as he charged forward.

"Bam!" He hit a wall. It was formed by Nocturne as she stretched her hand out.

"Stay put. Only time I will tell you. Do it again and I will kill you." Her voice came out cold and chiling.

"I will not allow another demon into this world!" The orc yelled. He got up to charge again but stopped.

"Fwoom," the flames disappeared showing Azul with a frown on his face. Waving his hands his armor reappeared. The warhammer was back in his hands as he stepped out the bowl. His wounds finallt restoring as he looked at his scren.

(Cannot form pacts with demons. Demons can only form pacts with you.)

"Tch, what a waste. I lost out with that." Azul said he looked at the alter that had upgraded itself from the energy.

"we should go help the others." Nocturne said. She was unable to hide her joy there was no increase in Fel magic for Azul. "What to do about this orc?"

"Heal Shock," Azul said as he hit him with the spell. "Nothing really. To bummed out to care. Besides the others are done already." Azul and Nocturne started walking forward.

"Hey it failed didnt it?" Vladmir said meeting them. He had a fresh scar by his neck. "It was worth a shot."

"Yeah.. gonna have to raise my Warlock powers the old fashioned way." Azul said sighing. "Ah well. Lets get the others fixed up. Then we can clean this place out."

"Right." Vladmir said. "Then grind these mobs down to nothing."

"Still think you should construct a guard tower." Nocturne added.

"It will draw attention the area I told you this already." Azul shook his head. "Besides it will just cause us to seperate our forces. They would increas in numbers and we would have to leave more people behind to guard it."

"True. Defeats the purpose as well." Vladmir said agreeing. He looked to the orcs. "First healing and communing with the spirits safely. We can send the orcs out in rotation to get the hand of being Shaman's."

(9 months till collapse)

'Good plan. Hey it should weaken the magic hold on the place and let us absorb the mana easier.' Vladmir chimed in.

"Will you two stop thinking so hard and tell us already." Nocturnes said. The two had been quiet for the last few minutes as they conversed. Not even she could hear what they were saying. Something she didnt like for some reason.

-Three month's later-

"Alright the plan is simple. The orcs lead by Vladmir will go and take care of Oggleflint and the troggs. Nocturne myself and WhiteHorn will take care of Jergosh." Azul said.

"Who would have thought it would be this hard to get this done." Vladmir said rubbing his shoulders. "We only took down the one boss as the others ran around the place. Filthy cowards."

On his back was the Sword of Taragaman. The only thing they remotely got accomplished. Whitehorn refused to join them They founf the Tauren he was looking for. Held captive by Oggleflint and his people. The orcs had risen to decent levels fighting the Elementals in the place. All of them had one totem at least. A fire totem. It was just a little fire ball that helped give them mana. It also knew when fel energy was nearby. Glowing green when it was dangerous to be around it. The little spitits knew mana tap.

The chasm went deep. Really deep. It was easy to get lost when the map could make heads or tails of the place. Azul & Nocturne even fell through a chasm getting lost for a month. When they resurfaced copletely missing all their mana and looking hagard. They were wearing armor made from a type of carapace. It was fitted togthor with hairs. It was obviouly there own that kept it togthor.

"Filthy Rock borer queen." Azul mumbled. Nocturne just hugged herself when she heard it. A little tear going down her cheek.

No one asked what happened. Even Vladmir didnt want to know.
