World Of Warcraft: Altered Time

Chapter 18 - Rage Fire Part 5

-Jergosh Chamber-

"So we will.."

"Tink, tink" Whitehorn took a step forward knocking some rocks into a discarded shield on the ground. He looked up sheepishly. "Heh.. heh.. heh sorry."

"You big stupid.. cow," Azul growled. The entire way, the Tauren had knocked over things that lead them into one fight after another. He was quick to Heal Azul and Nocturne and said nothing but a few sorries. "You should have went with the others!"

"I.. didnt mean to," Whitehorn said with his head down. Azul gave him another look over and saw a buff that increased the man's mana regen. That was it. He couldn't read the others really since he was not in their party. Whitehorn's name Id, showed up in yellow as in Other. "We can take them dont worry.."

"Incoming!" Nocturne yelled. She picked up a bow a few months ago and had been training with it ever since. She learned her lesson about not having mana the hard way. Her sword would do fine in a skirmish. But she liked to keep her distance as of late in fights more.

"Twang!" As she let loose the carapace arrow, it dissipated the spell in front easily. "Twang, twang," two more arrows went out right after the other. Their target the guards next to Jergosh. "Thump, thump," the guards hit the deck.

"Interlopers you dare!" Jergosh said hauntingly. Even from that distance, it looked as if he was not really there. A flicker of shadow magic danced behind him with a pair eye very discernible behind. "Shadow bolt!" The purple fel magic shot out of his hands straight towards Nocturne.

"Hey what are you!?" Whitehorn tried to ask. He found himself launched into the air and his mace in Azul's hand. "Mooo!" He g.r.o.a.n.e.d when the blast hit him in the back. For the most part, he was not injured, just a little from the fall itself.

Whitehorn looked up with a groan. "How did you know?" Nocturne asked ducking another barrage of spells. She rolled forward into one of the tents out of the way. "I found the other moo-cow thing!"

"Mmm mppf." The captured Tauren grumbled. Nocturne just gave him a shrug.

"Its what he calls your people. He really wants to cook you Tauren and see how you taste." Nocturne looked away and towards the tent flaps opening. More enemies appearing. "So many!" She then started to fire her arrows into the lot of them. All shots went to the legs to slow them down. As they approached she hoped they would trample one another. In moments there right in front of her face. With a smirk, she threw up a spell, "Arcane Wall!"

"Bwoom!" A magical barrier in front to block her. "Bang, bang," the first group hit it with their faces and heads. Nocturne started to weave a spell of arcane power to push them away. The orcs kept banging on it trying to break it.

"Hahahaha," Azul laughed as he cut an orc down. "Jergosh your almost fully turned arent you? That kind of sucks doesn't it?" He asked as he continued to cut the orcs down. His eyes looking at the Tauren every now and then. 'Nocturne check the other for any shadow influence. That blasted Whitehorn is possessed.'

'On it.' Nocturne returned the telepathic message and got to work. 'I have three minutes. That's how long the shield will last.'

"It is your fault! Stupid slant ears!" Jergosh yelled. His hands already preparing another spell to attack with. "I will end you and kill the woman as well. Offering up to my Master." His face twisted in pain as he struggled with control.

The Fel magic doubled in the area. Azul went at another Orc and blasted it away with a burst of magic. Easier to use magic to push people away when it was not designed for damage. The next orc almost made it. Raising its hand up, it fired a blast of pure fel energy.

"Crash," the first Orc was stuck and dazed for a bit. He looked up to see his cohorts flying.

"Crash, crash, crash. crash, crash, crash," all across the chambers, the Orcs were pushed into the walls. "Rumble," a ruble echoed out as the cavern shook violent from the impacts. The walls started to give way as a cave-in started to happen.

"Bye-bye," Azul said as he appeared next to the tent with Nocturne and stepped in the barrier. Wrapping his arms around her, he bolstered the shield with his magic. "Keep working." He then focused on the map to see the enemies dwindle. All but two. Jergosh and Whitehorn. As well as something else flickering in the background. It never stood long enough for him to place a mental cursor on.

"Fine but do it slowly this time. You remember what happened last time." Nocturne had a raised eyebrow that Azul could not see. She shook her head to get rid of the memory. 'Stupid bugs.' But the Tauren captive could. He was a little worried.

'They are joking around with all thats going on!' Grimtotem wiggled a little more trying to show some urgency. 'Just let me go and I can help.' He moved his head rapidly in the dirt. "Mmpf mmbf."

"I enjoyed what happened last time. You looked so adorable with your cheeks flushed from over-drafting." Azul smiled behind her. He turned to the entrance and watched as the rocks covered everything up. "We never picked up from then either. You have been avoiding me. My Priestess." His tone was flat trying to keep emotion out of it. On the inside, however, he was a mess. 'Am I really going to have to go conquest some war-torn women or something? This last quest is so stupid.'

(Find someone appropriate to stay by your side and help b.a.r.e your troubles. 2 years till Bane intervenes. Bane: Conquered women make great war brides. Get busy son or I will send you back to hell for reconditioning.)

'Urgh, I should kick this to Vladmir. He can go and fit the Orc stereotype for me instead.' Azul felt a headache coming on. 'Stupid Goddesses and their craziness. This has got to be... wait a minute. This quest seems.. odd in a way. That timetable has to mean something else. What happens in two years?? It can not be the Litch King. That is such a small time table.' Breaking from his thoughts he refocused on getting out this place first.

'Almost finished.' Nocturne said. Clapping her hands magic finished on Grimtotem. Cutting him free they prepared themselves for the next fight. "Last of the potions and foods." She bit into the bread and sipped the homemade mana potion. "Ah, tapped up. Here."

"So Tauren, who are you and why are you here?" Nocturne asked as she watched him.

"Well, thanks for the help. Straight to business." Grimtotem stood up and composed himself. "My clan leader sent me here to try to speak with the orcs down here. I swear I dont know what she was thanking considering she failed at it." Grimtotem looked around for a weapon. He found an old maul to wield. He looked at Nocturne who gestured it was ok for him to use it. "Thanks for the trust. But the Warchief Thrall will want to know what all is going on here. More forces than what was estimated. Maybe my clan chief can get a little recognition for this insight. That has to be what she sent me here for."

"Yeah.. not to kill you are anything." Nocturne looked at the Tauren. He looked the gullible type. With what she learned over the few months this was to be his burial. She was not gonna tell him that. Not her place. 'At least he is in green. Must remember that for next time.' Grabbing her sword she readies an enchantment to fight with. This one boosted her defense. Azul had taught it to her. A few Paladin spells to help boost her combat abilities.

"Time for the get this over with. I am so ready to go home." Azul grabbed hold of the spell and activated it. The spell lifted all the rocks up into the air. Walking out he kept hold of the spell.

Jergosh was on the ground mangled but alive. Whitehorn stood fine behind a barrier of shadow magic. He dispelled it and walked forward. He was getting ready to give a speech. "You all are.." Was all he got to say as Azul directed all the rocks directly at him burying him completely.

"Huff.. huff.. huff, so you think that killed him." Vladmir and a few others asked when they appeared. "The others.. are.. huff on their way."

"I know it didnt. But how did it go for your group?" Azul asked expectingly. He, however, kept spinning and lifting the rocks smashing at Whitehorn hopefully. No sense in wasting the spell just yet. "This bastard was using us to do... I have no idea actually. Good thing we didnt spill anything around him."

"Blasted thing escaped. I thought I had him a few times. Something got in the way. Some weird magic kept helping him. Weird shadow magic or magic from the nether. I dont know. Didnt have time to think about it." Vladmir looked forward and felt the spell activate behind him. "The others are here. No luck here either."

"The magic is building up," Nocturne said. "Cut our losses and head to the underground?"

"We are not gonna get that chance," Azul said grimly. The last of the rocks were rearranged. Usuing them as a shield and put them in front as a way to block what was coming. "Brace for whatever the hell is going on now!"

"Roooar!" A monstrous howl sounded outright as the others appeared. The resulting magical wave disrupted there spirits putting them out of the fight temporarily.

Demon Oggleflint/Jergosh/Whitehorn/??? Raid Boss Level 30 The body was that of a Satyr. A large about the size of a Tauren. It sking was green like that of an orc, and it had messy red hair like Oggleflint.

"Oh for boots in the cold. This is horsecrap!" Azul yelled. "Group Heal!," he cast a heal spell bringing everyone up to a decent health level. "This is gonna bite!" Charging out he rammed into the twisted Satyr body they inhabited. "I knew we should have taken that blasted body!"

"Yeah well.. my fault." Nocturne grumbled."I didnt think it safe with all the magic it had pouring off it." She passed a quick magical shield over the ones who would fight first. "Besides we were able to turn the others into decent sub-weapons for Vladmir anyway."

"Wham!" Azul swung the hammer up causing the Satyr's foot to raise up. Two bolts of magic lighting fired out hitting it the rest of the way over. Back arched it tried to lean back forward. Another few blts of lighting went out causing it to move back even more. It finally went half down. Turning, Azul saw Koragg and Korra were out of breath. The basic spell took to much from them.

"Thump," it stumbled.

"Tap tap," Vladmir and Kurjack were already on top of its legs. "Schlk," their weapons finding home in its t.h.i.g.hs at the same time.

"Roooar," the Satyr howled blasting them both away with Fel energy. It was already sitting up. "You insolent.." It started to say before it was bombarded with more spellfire. "Raawwr!"

"Boom, a bombardment of Shadow Bolt's pelted it next from the non fully converted orcs in the group.

"Ahh!" Usuing Wild Charge, Azul ran up and jumped into the air. His warhammer glowing in holy energy.

"Boom," Azul swung down his Warhammer hitting it in the c.h.e.s.t. He then jumped back and aimed for its groin. "Thump," the blow found only dirt as he missed when the Satyr rolled out the way. "Woosh," something moved at an alarming speed at his side. Its tail came around and smacked him away. "Whack," he flew in the air dropping his Warhammer.

"Thanks," Vladmir said grabbing it. He turned into a spin and launched it at the Satyr. "Booyah!" He yelled signaling the others. As the Warhammer flew it was hit by the next few waves of magic, causing its speed and power to reach monstrous levels.

"Kaaboom," the resulting impact caused the ground to quake as the Satyr was launched to the side hitting the wall next. Azul was already charging back up as he called his Warhammer back to his hand. Giving Vladmir a nod, they charged back at the Satyr. A few spell's pelted it furthur into the wall.

"Heal!" Nocturne cast her healing and then started casting a spell to buff him when his health would get low. 'Something is wrong with the magic here. Something powerful is coming from down below. But its only magic?'

"Here is all I have!" Vladmir gathered his power and sent it toward's Azul. "Bane's Surge!" He cast a buff with every drop of his magic and power as he let loose the warcry. The red spirit energy engulfed Azul and caused his body to scream in pain as he landed right in front of the Satyr right as it started to pry free from the wall.

"Wham!" He swung the Warhammer at its knee causing it to break.

"Wham!" He took out the next knee.

"Guh," groaning in pain he couldnt risk the chance to pull back. "Ahh!" Giving into the buff from Bane he swung again and again.

"Wham!" He caught the Satyr in the head as he jumped forward. The Satyr's head hit against the wall. It's arm came up to swipe at Azul. "Swish," it caught nothing but air as he had ducked under causing the demon to cut into its own t.h.i.g.h by mistake.

"Wham!" Azul swung and hit it in the c.h.e.s.t again. A dent could visibly be seen as it's c.h.e.s.t was damaged this time.

"Get back!" Koragg yelled. He had noticed the cave-in that area looked flimsy from the repeated strikes.

"No, stay." Kurjack said. "They are ready." He pointed to the Shaman's. They had pulled their magic togethor fow one last spell. A giant electrical orc had appeared and was fired from them. In a split second, it was on the Satyr and Azul.

"Heal!" Grimtotem used the spell he was able to get ready to help restore Azul.

"Heal!" Nocturne let loose her own spell once it was time.

"Boom!" The electrical orc smashed Azul forward mid-swing. This caused the Warhammer to drive directly into the Satyr. "Splrt," it smashed into its body. The spell orc manifestation started to cook its insides as Azul back away.

More like fell down anyway. Vladmir made to go forward to help but the cave shook. Worse than previous causing everyone to try and keep their balance.

"Crumble," upon impact the back half gave way then the ground itself as it fell into the chasm. The interior had taken a beating for a while and was no longer able to take any more damage.

"Bwoom," a wave of magical energy flew into the chasm from the back. It was the opening of the place that had started to appear whenever things got to dangerous for them. Azul's party that is anyway.

"The portal is opened," Vladmir said. He looked at the lot that was available and was ready to give the order loot and go. "We have to get what we can."

"I have a bad feeling.." Korra said as she backed away. Everyone gave her a look. "What?!"

"We did win right?" Koragg asked.

"You Jinx..." Vladmir started to say. A hand of Fel magic came up over the side to grab Azul. He hadn't gotten up. His body was to exhausted to do much of anything. He was using what little magic was recovering to heal himself.

"No!" Nocturne yelled. As soon as she did, she felt a surge of power come from the Altar of Bane they had placed. She was covered in an intense layer of Arcane and Holy energy. She then disappeared.

"Fwoosh," Azul was blinked away. "Fwoosh," he was now standing in the place Nocturne just stood.

"What.. the.. hell.." Azul said disjointedly. The transition did something fierce to his body. "Never do that again.." He watched in horror as she was pulled over the side. "Damn it!" He took two steps before his body froze. After effects of the spell she used. "I cant move!" 4 seconds later he was free to move. Just in time to get away from falling rocks.

"Rumble," the place became even more unstable as it shook more.

Koragg started ordering everyone to pull back to safety. Azul, Grimtotem, and Vladmir were running to the edge. Looking over they saw Nocturne down below. A shield of magical energy only thing keeping her alive.

"Rumble," more rocks began to fall around them.

"Go already!" Nocturne yelled. Azul and the rest did just that. They ran through the chasm and into the portal. "I will never get to see the others again. I wonder if Demona will cry?" Nocturne committed herself to her fate very easily. "We didnt really get the resources. Oh, this has been a so so ordeal." She felt she experienced a lot. Better than being a wretched anyway.

"Oi, you bet she would," Azul said as he jumped into the chasm. His armor disappearing and wrapping around Nocturne. His skin touched the lava and started burning instantly. It started to regenerate thanks to the abundant magic he pulled in. It was a constant cycle.

"Why did you come back!?" Nocturne screamed hysterically. "Your gonna die!"

"Several reasons. Two cant pass up on this chance to gain a bigger head start for our people." Azul lifted her up above him with magic. "Three, you dying here will destroy morale." Reaching down, he stabbed his hands into the lava absorbing the magic more. "Ah, that burns in the bad way!" Opening his reserves completely he kept absorbing as he continuously cast heal on himself. 'Not as hot as hell but crap this burns.'

Azul skin blistered and burst open. Whisps of flame burrowed into his flesh. The longer he held on, the more poured in. Nocturne watched silently cursing her inability to help. As if reading her mind Azul turned to yell at her.

"You are not weak!" He said through gritted teeth. The lava was painful to his body but he felt much worse in hell. If it wasn't for that, he would not have been capable of this. In fact, he still might burn up and die. "You sacrificed your life for us for me. That takes a weird strength most people never have."

"I did it for you only idiot. That is my purpose as your priest." Nocturne said. Her eyes betraying what she really wanted to say. "You should escape. Our people need you more than me. You have a job to do!"

"No," Azul said coldly. His hands going furthur down as he submerged up to his c.h.e.s.t in the lava. "You just focus on keeping an eye out. We need to get something from this place. Something more than what we have!" Chanting a spell next, a few gateways opened. He drained the magic into them.

'What can I do? I cant cast magic currently. I need to recover and fast.' Thinking to herself, Nocturne did her best to recover. To her horror, she felt that she couldn't wield magic. She had overdrafted herself with the last spell she had used. "Oh.. no." She felt helpless. Looking around she did her best to keep a lookout. 'This is the only thing I can do for now.'

"I have to stay awake." Moving his neck around in the lava, he felt his newly reformed eyes burn out and explode. "Grr, time to regrow them again. At least I am awake now." Pulling the magic to restore himself, he felt his body strengthen. It was not enough. Restoring and then healing quickly. 'If I digested this, I would lose out on the benefit for the base. However, personally I could really gain some strength. To bad, there is no time for me to do it for myself. But no matter. I need to burrow deeper to drop the home base. Damn lava is so thick!'

Hours turned into days as Azul's mind started to drift away from the task. His body already had become to use to the burning as his mind adapted. He couldn't concentrate enough to disconnected his nerve endings in the spell. Only enough to fully restore himself.

"Azul! Dont stop! Stay awake!" Nocturne yelled. She tried to cast a spell day after day, but couldn't focus with the intense heat and the mana that Azul was redirecting. She looked at him moving slower and slower. 'He is not gonna make it! We are so close. I have to do something.'

"Pop," a lava bubble blew up near him burning the side of his face. The mana contained within 10x stronger than before. Slowly he healed. Nowhere near as good as before. The damage was showing with part of his brain missing. The spells were having trouble reforming on him.

"Tell me the first reason why!" Nocturne yelled. "What was the first reason?!" She banged against the bubble she was in. "Come on! Stay awake. Heal yourself!"

"Ugh.. because.. you... you are mine," Azul mumbled as his concentration finally broke. He fell forward into the lava. More gateways opened as that was the last spell he was working on. His defenses started to crumble.

"Woosh," in the lava a few small whirlpools formed absorbing the mana.

"No!" Nocturne broke the barrier and landed in the lava. The armor only giving her little defense. She ignored the searing pain of her flesh melting and her bones roasting inside her. "You cant die!" Grabbing hold of Azul they both burned up. Sinking into the lava neither saw the messages from Ks appear onve they were completely obscured by the magic of the lava pit.

-Not to far away from them-

"Heh, good riddance to bad rubbish." An orc said. He was marked with strange fel markings as he watched everything. A portal opened and he gave a final look as the flames engulfed the two. "We return to Durotar." Him and the others left.

"Bwoom," the portal closed.
