World's Mystery

when the person finally walked in and stopped blocking the light source we were finally able to see her

before mia could say something and spoil everything for me I began talking, by that I mean lying

"I am Alex and this is Mia. we are from the middle school in town. you are?"

"I am Abby, I used to work here. what are you two doing here?" she asked rather politely

i relaxed a bit glad that it wasn't a rude person

"we were planning on having a memorial for the deceased students after recent events. one of the old students used to live here a while so we were wondering if we could find something that belonged to them to keep in the memorial"

"oh i heard about that," she said sadly. "would you mind telling me the name of the student, I might be able to help."

"luna" mia and i replied at the same time.

"How did she know about luna" i wondered

"how long has it been since she passed away?"she asked

"10" i replied

"i can help, she left me some of her things," she said sadly

we followed all the way to what I assume is her house.

"want something to drink?" she asked

"nothing" mia replied while I replied "coffee" at the same time

mia glared at me and I ignored her.

while i was drinking the coffee which miss Abby had made me, mia continued to glare at me

a few minutes later miss Abby came back with a box

"luna told me to give this to whoever comes by looking for her" she said as she handed me the box

"you must have been close to her" i said

"i was" she replied

"i am sorry for your loss," mia said and she looked genuinely sad for miss Abby

"it's alright, it has already been 10 years" she shrugged

"but it must still hurt," i said

"it does," she said

we finally left.

after we were a bit far away i asked mia

"how do you know about luna?"

"i could ask you the same thing," she said.

"shoot! i am late" and began running.

i walked to the cafe as i certainly didn't want to see the contains of this box at prof Stine's house.

the cafe was open and jack was there as always so i slide to my usual spot and finally opened the box.

in the box there was a tiny box and a few letters

"ugh letters" i thought before i opened and began reading it
