Wu Shattered Star River

#1 - Chapter 1 Jiang Han

“Please, Third Elder, have mercy! Spare my sister!”

In Jiangjia Town, outside an old, dilapidated courtyard, a young man dressed in black was kneeling on the ground, kowtowing repeatedly to a middle-aged man, pleading bitterly.

The young man was named Jiang Han, a member of the Jiang clan.

That afternoon, he had just returned from hunting outside when he heard the devastating news: the Third Elder of the clan had forcibly taken his sister, Jiang Li, away.

This was because a prominent figure from the Cloud Dream Pavilion, Han Shiqi, had taken a liking to Jiang Li and wanted to take her as a concubine, planning to marry her in half a month.

This news was like a bolt from the blue; upon hearing it, Jiang Han almost fainted on the spot.

Six years ago, Jiang Han's parents had mysteriously disappeared, leaving only him and his sister, Jiang Li, to depend on each other.

In his world, Jiang Li was everything.

Now, the Third Elder wanted to forcibly marry Jiang Li off to be the concubine of a man over fifty years old. How could he possibly agree to that?

What was even more infuriating was that Jiang Li was only eleven years old this year, still just a child.

“Brother, Brother!”

The door to the inner room was pulled open, and a beautiful little loli ran out, crying.

Before she could run a few steps, a middle-aged woman ran out of the house and roughly dragged the little loli back inside, followed by the crisp sound of a slap and the little loli's cries.

“Jiang Li!”

Seeing this scene, Jiang Han's eyes were bloodshot, and he was about to rush in. But the Third Elder in front of him cast a cold glance, and he forcibly suppressed his anger, standing back in place.

“Jiang Han!”

The Third Elder, around forty years old, was dressed in brocade robes, with a burly build and a centipede-like scar on his left face, making him look ferocious and terrifying.

He looked at Jiang Han and said indifferently, “Have you made enough of a scene? Jiang Li's matter is a decision made by the clan's Elder Council, and it cannot be changed. If you continue to make trouble, don't blame the clan laws for being ruthless!”

“Elder Council?”

Hearing the Third Elder's words, Jiang Han pursed his lips tightly, almost biting his teeth to pieces.

Was this because he was young and ignorant?

The Jiang clan leader had been in seclusion for half a year, and the First Elder had been bedridden for over a month, said to be on his last legs. The Second Elder was far away in Cloud Dream City, leaving only the Third Elder in the Elder Council.

Elder Council decision?

This was clearly the Third Elder's idea alone.

Looking at the Third Elder's grim face, Jiang Han braced himself and retorted, “Third Elder, my sister is still so young, please spare her. I know you have a grudge against my father. If you have any issues, take it out on me, but let Jiang Li go!”

Jiang Han didn't really know much about the grievances between the Third Elder and his father back then.

He only knew that his father was a rare genius martial artist in the Jiang family for a hundred years, reaching the fourth level of the Profound Nether Realm at the age of thirty, with combat power second only to the clan leader and First Elder, surpassing his peers.

It seemed that the clan leader had promoted his father to be the captain of the hunting team, and many peers in the clan were not convinced at the time, so there had been several conflicts.

The knife scar on the Third Elder's face that had been with him for more than ten years – it was said that it was left by his father.

“Impudence!”

The scar on the Third Elder's face twitched, unable to contain his anger, and he raised his hand to heavily slap Jiang Han's face.

Jiang Han instinctively raised his arm to block, but the Third Elder's speed was too fast, and he took a solid slap, his body flying out and crashing heavily to the ground two zhang away.

Ugh!

Jiang Han struggled to get up, his head spinning, his internal organs aching piercingly, and he opened his mouth to spit out a mouthful of blood.

“You dare to say such nonsense!”

The Third Elder looked at Jiang Han coldly and shouted sternly, “This matter is a foregone conclusion, and no one can change it. Lord Han will arrive in Jiangjia Town in half a month. You better be honest during this time. If you dare to mess around, I will personally kill you.”

“Also, Jiang Li is Lord Han's person in life and Lord Han's ghost in death. Even if she dies – her corpse will be sent to Cloud Dream City!”

“Jiang Long!”

The Third Elder turned his head and shouted in a low voice. A thin, bamboo-pole-like young man walked up quickly. He casually glanced at Jiang Han, his eyes full of mockery, and he curled his lips slightly, saying, “Third Uncle, what are your orders?”

“From today onwards, you will bring people to guard here day and night!”

The Third Elder said with his hands behind his back, “Jiang Li must not step out of the courtyard in the next half month. If Jiang Han dares to mess around… you will deal with him directly according to the clan rules!”

“Yes, Third Uncle!”

Jiang Long was the Third Elder's own nephew, so the Third Elder was naturally completely at ease. He glanced at Jiang Han coldly again, then turned and strode away.

Watching the Third Elder's departing figure, Jiang Han's heart sank to the bottom, his face full of despair.

Although they belonged to the same Jiang clan, Jiang Han's lineage had been passed down for three generations, and after his parents disappeared, the brother and sister were helpless and alone in Jiangjia Town. He had no channels to obtain the Jiang family's resources for cultivation, his skills were low, and he had no status in the clan.

Although there were many experts in the Jiang family, the Third Elder's lineage was very domineering and powerful in the clan, and no one dared to stand up for him.

Purple Mansion Realm, Profound Nether Realm, Mountain Sea Realm… Each realm is divided into nine levels.

Jiang Han was only at the fifth level of the Purple Mansion Realm, not to mention the Third Elder at the third level of the Profound Nether Realm, even Jiang Long in front of him was at the ninth level of the Purple Mansion Realm.

There was a difference of four realms between them, and he was far from being Jiang Long's opponent.

If he forced his way in and took Jiang Li away, there would only be one outcome – he would be beaten to death by Jiang Long.

“Jiang Xiaotian, you are abusing your power for personal gain. You will not die a good death!”

Jiang Han gritted his teeth, hating in his heart.

The Third Elder, Jiang Xiaotian, had a personal feud with his father, and this was clearly malicious revenge.

Jiang Li had never left Jiangjia Town since she was a child. Han Shiqi was far away in Cloud Dream City, how could he possibly know her? It must be that Jiang Xiaotian deliberately sent Jiang Li to Han Shiqi as a concubine.

In this way, he could both avenge the past and curry favor with a big figure from the Cloud Dream Pavilion, a good plan indeed.

“I must go back first!”

After standing blankly for a while, Jiang Han forced himself to calm down and slowly walked towards his own small courtyard, enduring the pain.

At this time, many Jiang clan members who passed by mostly looked at him with sympathy. But no one came over to talk to him. In the Jiang family, the Elder Council was the law, and no one dared to disobey.

Returning to his small courtyard in a daze, Jiang Han sat on a chair like a sculpture.

After sitting for an hour, no matter how hard he racked his brains, he could not think of any good way to escape.

If he wanted to take Jiang Li and escape, his overall combat power had to reach at least the ninth level of the Purple Mansion Realm, otherwise he would not be able to get past Jiang Long. He had cultivated for six years to barely reach the fifth level of the Purple Mansion Realm. How could he possibly improve to the ninth level of the Purple Mansion Realm in half a month?

If he stayed, he could only watch Jiang Li being sent to the Cloud Dream Pavilion, being played with and humiliated by an old pervert, living a life worse than death…

“Is there really no way out?”

Jiang Han murmured despairingly, his hand involuntarily clenching tightly on a cauldron-shaped jade pendant on his chest, the only object his mother had left him.

He cast his gaze out the window, murmuring confusedly, “Father, Mother, where did you go? Are you dead or alive? What should I do? What should I do!”

Snap!

Perhaps because of emotional agitation, using too much force, the cauldron-shaped jade pendant was actually crushed by Jiang Han.

Suddenly!

The cauldron-shaped jade pendant actually burst out with a dazzling light, instantly illuminating the entire room.

“Huh? This…”

Jiang Han was startled, lowered his head and looked, his eyes somewhat dazed. Although the cauldron-shaped jade pendant was crushed by him, there were no fragments left.

His hand was empty, and the cauldron-shaped jade pendant had mysteriously disappeared…
