Kanas Lake is located in the north of Burqin County, Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang, China. It is an inland freshwater lake. The lake water comes from the glacier meltwater of Kuitun, Youyifeng and other mountains and local precipitation. The lake is shaped like a crescent, 24.5 kilometers long, 1.9 kilometers wide on average, 90 meters deep on average, 188.4 meters deep on maximum, 69,000 mu in area, and 4 billion cubic meters in water storage. It is one of the deepwater lakes in my country.

The lake is crescent-shaped. The main landscapes in the lake area include Camel Neck Bay, Color Change Lake, Wolong Bay, etc.; rare fish such as Taimen and Saury are grown there.

Kanas Lake is an alpine lake formed by the Quaternary glaciation. In 2009, it was rated as "the most beautiful lake in China" by National Geographic magazine.

Gu Hongyu chose Kanas as the first stop for their honeymoon. They were also attracted by many legends of Kanas Lake.

Landing at Altay Airport by plane, looking at the blue sky of the plateau, feeling the unique climate of the plateau, all of them make people feel refreshed, as if their minds suddenly become broadened.

It was past noon when they got off the plane. After having a simple meal with Mei Ning near the airport, Gu Hongyu found the tourist bus to Kanas Lake.

Seeing Gu Hongyu and Mei Ning, the two handsome men and beautiful women, many tour guides knew their destination and came forward eagerly to recruit them to join the tour group.

After finding the hotel and putting the luggage inside, Gu Hongyu took Mei Ning out again. Although they could not go to those famous attractions, to be honest, Kanas has a beautiful environment and you can enjoy beautiful scenery as long as you go here.

The lake area is not far from the hotel. Walking in the scenic area and feeling the breath of nature, after passing through a forest, Kanas Lake appeared in front of Gu Hongyu and Mei Ning.

Kanas Lake is the core essence of Kanas National Nature Reserve.

It is a result of strong erosion by glaciers, and the ice and stone surface objects blocked the valley, forming a final surface ridge to form a lake.

The lake is surrounded by lush coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forests, which are connected to the vast mountain grassland. In spring, the grassland is full of flowers and lush grass. In the near distance, the clouds are like white ribbons. Wrapped around the mountains.

In the distance, there are snowy peaks, lush forests, and gullies dripping with green.

In July and August. Climbing the fish-watching pavilion at an altitude of 2,030 meters to overlook the lake and mountains of Kanas, you will be amazed by the colorful wonders on the lake. Under the blue sky and white clouds, the huge lake is like a huge palette, and the color of the lake water is deep, shallow, blue, and green, which is really ever-changing. It is so beautiful that you can enjoy the neon beauty of "Baoguang" in Kanas. It is very charming.

"Baoguang" is commonly known as "Buddha's light". It blends with the unique Kanas Lake light, the glaciers of the mountains, the green grasslands, the vast forests, and the light and floating mountain mist, making you feel like you are in a fairyland.

When the sun rises or the night falls, take a boat or stand on the platform of the fourth bay to explore the secrets of the lake. If you are lucky, you can see the mysterious "lake monster" that appears and disappears like a small boat.

Speaking of this lake monster, we have to talk about the allusions that have been passed down.

According to legend, a long time ago, Genghis Khan went west and passed by Kanas Lake. Seeing such a beautiful place, he decided to stay here for a while to rest his men and horses.

Genghis Khan drank the lake water and felt very thirsty, so he asked his generals what kind of water it was. A wise general answered: "This is Kanaus (which means Khan's Water in Mongolian)." All the soldiers answered in unison: "This is Khan's Water."

Genghis Khan said: "Then call this lake Kanaus." So in the legend of the Tuva people, they are the descendants of Genghis Khan. After Genghis Khan's death, his body sank in Kanas Lake. As Genghis Khan's personal soldiers, the Tuva people stayed in Kanas Lake and guarded the royal tomb for generations. The "lake monster" is the "lake saint" who protects Genghis Khan's soul from being violated.

But these are all illusory legends and stories that should not be taken seriously. However, there is no clear statement whether there is a real lake monster in Kanas Lake.

Standing by the clear lake, facing the breeze, Gu Hongyu was about to spread his consciousness to see if he could find other conscious creatures in Kanas Lake. At this moment, Mei Ning beside him trembled all over.
