The easiest way to memorize something, is to connect it with something really random and maybe even wierd. The weirder the better because it'll be easier to remember.

A few simple examples:

CARbohydrates, a car has 4 wheels so a gram of carbohydrates provides 4 calories.

Fat, what rhymes with fat; cat -> how many lives does a fat cat have; 9 -> so fat provides 9 calories per gram.

It doesn't have to make sense as long as you can remember it.
