Yomigaeri no Maou

Lesson 249: Sin

"But it's an awesome place to look again"

That's what Lulu said looking out the carriage.

If anything, it's about the view that spreads out there.

A magnificent city, built inside a giant great cave.

That was the objective scenario of the underground city of Teram-Nadia.

"Sure… it's not a big deal to build so many cities inside these caves."

Iris also nods at Lulu's words and says so.

In fact, the cave itself is a big deal, but the number and size of buildings that exist inside is also considerable.

Because they are all so splendid that they are not so inferior to the Wang capital.

But even with all that praise, Moitz and Ivan don't seem that proud.

wondering, Lulu asks.

"You look kind of subtle, don't you? What's the matter with you?

Then Moitz,

"No... it's our city, so I'm glad you're praising us, but we're not the ones who laid the foundations for this city, Teram-Nadia, so I feel like we're depriving others of their accomplishments"

Explain to Ivan to supplement Moitz's words.

"The foundation of this city, Teram-Nadia, was created by the Dwarves, who were once said to have a huge underground empire and to have great craftsmanship. Especially when you look from the outside, all the Tsukasaki-like entrances and the great caves inside of them were built with Dwarves' technology… we came here afterwards to scratch the product of that technology as it was."

"Dwarves... I see"

To Ivan's explanation, Lulu looked around again and nodded.

Because I know enough of that kind of technology to say that it is certainly possible for them to build cities in places like this.

They seem to be saying that they have now become extinct, but I am happy that there is a building that thus tells them that they existed.

"Does that mean you left the Dwarf where you originally lived to live?

Ask if Iris cared.

I'm not a voice to blame.

That's because I understand that depriving each other of where Illis lives in a long history can happen naturally.

But to this question, Moitz shook his head.

"No, by the time the first Teram-Nadiah residents arrived here hundreds of years ago, they were already told they were deserted. There was no shadow or form of dwarf, so much so that the demons were inhabited. However, it seems that there were quite a few ruins and facilities left that the Dwarves would have built, which seemed to have helped quite a bit to create a city here. Air, water, light, etc. are made by the Dwarves... because the magic machine is still running."

If you ask me, I can't feel any precipitation in the air when I say it's in the cave.

Something like a stream of wind can be felt, and something like a water repository can be broken at equal intervals, and the water flowing is clear and clean.

Light was also seen blurring around the cave ceiling.

I guess all of that is the benefit of the magic machine that the Dwarves left behind.

"Don't be upset if the machine that keeps you here breaks down."

When Lulu says so, Ivan nods and says.

"Yeah, totally. It's just that it's very sturdy and has never failed before. Besides, if it breaks, I'm prepared to make it up to you with magic gear or something. It's not going to stop city functions or anything like that. It could be a little inconvenient."

They don't mean they rely on the magical guidance machine in a comic way without taking any precautions.

Then I'm convinced you'll be okay.

The carriage keeps going down deeper and deeper into the cave.

The inn that unloaded Paula was just about the closest part of the cave to the ground, the ground floor, to say.

But now, the carriage is getting to the point of hitting the basement upstairs.

Now, the brightness hasn't changed much, and the feeling of the air is the same.

I could understand the excellence of Dwarf's machines.

"How far are we going?

Lulu got a little fed up and asked so about the carriage journey that seemed to dive deeper in the extension.

Then Moitz answers.

"We're on our way to the Northern Adventurers Union (Alliance) headquarters, but the location will be on the third basement floor, so we're almost there."

"It's a lot deeper... wasn't it easier to make it on the ground floor?

It's just North Headquarters, and it's going to be pretty intense in and out, and I can't say enough that this big cave, no matter how much Dwarf built it, won't break in an earthquake or something someday.

With that in mind, when Zoe asked, Moitz nodded and replied.

"I do know what you're saying. So, of course, there is also the Adventurers Union (Guild) building on the ground floor. But it's not like there's a Northern Adventurers Union (Alliance) headquarters on the third basement floor."

"What do you mean?

"That's... oh, you're about to get to the third basement floor. I think it would be quicker if you actually looked at it."

When I was told to look outside, the carriage almost went down the hill to the third basement floor.

The interior of the cave is connected to different strata by slopes depicting gentle curves, in such a way that it gradually descends.

All of them were very long and when they were down it was like they were getting anxious as if they were going to hell.

But it seemed familiar to those who lived in Teram-Nadia for a long time, like Moitz and Ivan, and only the Lulu seemed to feel somewhat uncomfortable.

In such a ramp, at the end.

The ramp down from the second basement floor to the third basement floor was bigger and longer than anything before.

For some reason, the hair color feels a little different.

Furthermore, just before we reached the third basement floor, there was something we had never seen before.

"... the door?

That's what Lulu says and stares out the carriage.

On the third basement floor, at its entrance, there was a large metal door.

It is as if it had been swallowed for a giant.

It seems completely open and free to come and go, but it's huge nonetheless.

"Why is it only here?

To divide the hierarchy, so it shouldn't be weird between the ground floor and the basement floor, the basement floor and the basement floor, but at least it hasn't happened before.

It was also natural for Illis to wonder and want to ask that.

Ivan answers that question.

"To be honest, we don't even know why. The only dwarf you'll find out is the dwarf who made this place. It's just that with that one, the northern headquarters was built on this hierarchy. That door is a giant magic machine."

I was told, and I looked again, and I did feel a magical twist on the door.

But it's pretty thin, and now it doesn't look like it's running.

In the first place, what does it do?

Moitz answered the question.

"For once, I'd like you to keep this to yourself because it's confidential... that door has a kind of effect as a junction. When you close that door, no one can enter the third basement, that's what it is."

"You mean you can cage a castle if you close it when you're attacked from somewhere."

"Yep. Plus there are pretty luxurious resources inside, because water and light are never exhausted thanks to the Magic Conducting Machine. In fact, you can stay locked up for a hundred or two years."

"If that's true, I don't want to attack this place."

Who would want to attack a castle that is closed but at the end of the day, such as a castle that the raiders can hold until they give up?

Well, that, too, actually, would be a story if that door really couldn't be opened to anyone.

If you ask him on that point, Moitz,

"It's not my money, but they've called a few extraordinary magicians to attack them to destroy the door," he said.

"You still didn't break it... but what were you going to do if it broke..."

Being a few superiors would have been quite devastating.

I don't even want to think about magicians like Uvezd pointing their magic at that door without worrying about it.

But the door is still alive and doesn't look like it has one scratch.

That means nothing more than that even the extraordinary couldn't break it.

considerable endurance.

"The head of the Northern Adventurers' Union (North Master) at the time seemed to say it was good to be broken when it broke. I think it's a valuable magic machine, but I've done a hell of a lot..."

That would have just been the head of the Northern Adventurers' Union (North Master) and so on, and he was a pretty shapebreaking figure I guess.

That's what you can tell by looking at Moitz.

It's hard for something to be extra prominent.

I guess that's what a Quartet Union leader is all about.

Moitz continued.

"Well, I mean, you have headquarters in the basement third floor on purpose because of that door. Something like that, so that we can protect ourselves. There's a lot of information that you can't give out to the outside world, and when you have to, you close the door and close it. I'm lucky I've never done that before."

Apparently, he never used it.

The door means it's closed every night, but basically it's open.

While doing so, the carriage reaches its destination.

Lulu and the others stepped out of the carriage and looked at the building, which was their destination.

It was a giant building made of rock and earth.

"This is the Northern Adventurers Union Headquarters building. Pretty good, isn't it?

After getting out of the carriage, Moitz said that in front of that building, just a little proud.

Until we got here, we saw a number of Teram-Nadia buildings, but they take on a rare form among them.

It's a bizarre building that overlaps a bunch of boulders and somehow inherits them and trims through the interior of them.

This building stands out quite simply because most of the other buildings were made of bricks, trees, etc., the same as those found in the Wang capital.

And to be so, I can see that this was made in a different way than any other building.

Besides, Lulu has seen buildings similar to this several times in the past.

It was the craftsmanship of that nostalgic race that had clever hands and preferred booze.

"Dwarf's... residence"

When Lulu groaned so, Moitz nodded with a slight glance.

"Yeah, you're right. You know very well...... did you know?

"No... it feels that way somehow."

Actually, you know it well, but I can't explain it.

In modern times, Dwarves are said to have perished a long time ago.

Moitz didn't seem particularly surprised about Lulu's reaction.

I guess because I thought it was a reasoning I could do more than describe this underground city itself, the Dwarf creation.

Moitz continues.

"As you can see, I now use it as an Adventurers Union building. However, it is said that it was originally left behind by Dwarves who created everything in this underground city, and that the body of the magic machine that creates light and water is also inside of it."

Numerous valuable magic guidance machines that are located in Teram-Nadia.

I was wondering where you were keeping it, but I see it would be safer than anywhere else in this city if this northern Adventurers Union headquarters on the third basement floor protected by that huge and sturdy door.

Though we have seen people passing around the union building with officials and adventurers in mind, we can also see that they are quite powerful.

Pretty elite must be packing it here, and that's why headquarters, that's why.

If you tell Moitz that,

"Yeah, that's why I feel safe staying away for a long time, too."

and laughed with a tear-eyed look.

Probable inclusiveness was a peeking expression if done with the original giant, but because I did it with the appearance of a beautiful boy today, several women who were walking around early enough stopped and were spotted for a moment.

Of course, I immediately returned to my duties.

By the way, I wasn't too young and didn't feel like there were a lot of luscious beauties.

Moitz himself doesn't seem to have noticed.

It's just that Zoe takes a meaningful look at her sisters, who just look around and smile embarrassingly and go back to their own work like nothing happened.

"... hey, didn't you create a sinful existence, my sire..."

and muttered to himself.

No one could hear the words, and Moitz said them in one line.

"So it's time to go inside"
