Yomigaeri no Maou

Episode 266: Freaky Military Man

"Is this the big commercial city of Hathama? Big inside."

Lulu muttered so as he stepped out of the carriage, which had been rocked for a few days.

"That's right... it's a lot different from Desiert, the king's capital of Leonard, but this isn't a bad idea."

That's what Illis says following Lulu.

As she said, Deciert, the king's capital of Leonard, and Hathama, the great commercial capital, were different from each other because of the atmosphere they had always seen.

Both feel lively and lively, but the properties of architecture and the momentum of the audible voices are very different.

Desierto had many Leonard-inspired brick buildings and many had an elegant feel based on white shades.

I remember the structure of the city was also systematically formed and the streets were mostly made straight.

However, the buildings of Hathama, the great commercial capital, have many unique textures made from sharpened sandstones and so on, and the structure of the city is also cluttered.

I can see the boulevard is clearly wide on the boulder, but if I got into the alley a little, there were a number of winding narrow roads going on, and if something I wasn't familiar with got in, I seemed to get out of here forever and not have this.

Of course, the city's residents would be taking advantage of such alleys for shortcuts, etc., but it seemed impossible for the Lulu's to do that for some time.

Even if you get lost, it doesn't seem like you can easily go up on the wall and check your current position from the top of the roof. Lulu and the others can't get lost, but you can't do that often, and you should stop while you're not familiar with the city.

"There's also a saying that the alley in the Grand Merchant City hides even the body. Be careful not to, huh?

And Paula says it's not a joke.

Such an old story seems to be a mountain in the Grand Commercial City, and it was also used to threaten children.

Lulu and the others are impressed that there is such a thing in any country.

By the way, Aldo, who came in the carriage with me and got along there, is no longer here.

Says he's going to take an inn early and feed his English chi for the enlistment exam.

Apparently, the enlistment exam can be applied for by going to the Lugung military ministry building in the Greater Commercial Capital, and the exam will be conducted as early as the next day and at the latest about three days later.

The early one is an applicant for the Lugunese people, and the slow one says it is in the case of foreigners.

That means the Lulu's could be free for a few days.

"Well, I'd like to explore the alley one of these days, but now I have something to do before I play... either I'm looking for accommodation or I'm going to the Hatama military ministry building?

That's what Lulu asks Paula and Faitha.

After all, I thought that two people from Lugung would be able to make more efficient decisions about what was going on here.

First Paula,

"Basically, I think either is fine. After all, it won't be an immediate exam today. Um, but when you do, does that mean you should take the inn first?

Go on, Faitha.

"I think I'd better do that too... no. Right, that would be fine if we split it into two hands. The Metropolitan City is a hard place to walk for first-time visitors, but luckily there are two people from Lugung."

That's what I said.

Indeed, Aldo was telling me in a passenger carriage that the Inn would be fine if the delegate said so, and that if more than one person applied for the enlistment exam, the delegate wouldn't mind.

So Lulu nodded,

"Well, shall we... Innkeeper, yes, Paula and..."

"I'll go. Nina, this way, too. For enlistment exams, the three of us please"

and Zoe run for immediate decision.

I chose Paula because she was from Lugung and my parents were the owners of the Chamber of Commerce, so I thought she would see what seemed good about the Inn.

Faitha's would still prefer Paula because she didn't often go outside the settlement, meaning that other people were doing chores such as taking an inn even if she did.

By the way, Zoe just ran for office because she wants to cage in the inn early.

I got out of the carriage and haven't walked much, but still many times from earlier Zoe has been spoken to by passers-by.

Specifically, it seemed like all of that was a numb, turning it all down but a pain in the ass.

In Leonard, that was rarely the case, and that was not because Zoe was unattractive, but because many people were frightened and unable to approach Zoe's slightly different atmosphere.

In Lugung, however, the nationality seemed different, rather few were attracted to its seemingly dangerous atmosphere.

By the way, Paula is similarly eyed by the dwarf (Catangenos), who seems tired just after a long journey, although only from the boulder country and well decorated.

Iris is going to get that kind of look again, but the moment the opposite sex tries to get closer, no one gets closer because he's skipping a pretty serious killing spree.

Threats and all that. It's not on that level. It's a real killer.

It won't get any closer.

It was Lulu, who didn't even think he'd give him more credit for the boulder, but he showed a strange intuition that he was going to be a snake when he mouthed it, and he shut up.

Then Lulu told Zoe and Paula,

"Well, I asked both of you... and Nina"

So I said, we broke up.

As it is, Lulu, Iris and Faitha three head to the Lugung military ministry building.

Once again, Faitha seems to have come to Hathama several times as the eldest son, and largely remembers the location of the building containing the main institutions.

Take a good lead, Lulu and the others arrived at the government building.

◇ ◆ ◇ ◆ ◇

"... enlistment exam seekers. You guys?

When he entered the government building and told the military and men who thought he was sitting at the reception what the purpose of the visit was, they said so with a frigid face.

Well, I don't even know what it feels like.

Lulu and Illis only look like mid teenagers, and Lulu is a well-groomed looking boy, and Illis is a luxurious body-shaped girl.

I was told by these two that I wanted to be a soldier, and you wouldn't be able to tell if I found out.

The man at the reception was identified as:

"The army is in a very tight spot. Stop it. In the first place, you guys are from... Leonard, right? The enlistment exam will be a one-horse ride with an active soldier. All of a sudden you just get hurt where you think you got it."

and began advising.

It felt like a really worried word, not in a way that made it unholy, but annoying to the Lulu's.

That said, even if I clearly said that, it would be a child's vanity or something, they would think.

What's the matter...... and when I'm cramped with a response, from behind Lulu and Iris, Faitha comes,

"... these two are medium users who don't look good. I don't want you to pay for it, I want you to take the exam."

and tell the man at the reception.

The man looked at Faitha,

"What about you?

I ask, but it was a way of saying that there was no such thing as a kind of insult as when Lulu and the others lived.

I guess that's because Faitha is now turned into something of a fierce man in his twenties or so by the art of humanization.

Faitha looked a little bothered by the man's question, but nodded and answered as she was ready.

"He who plans to come to the enlistment exam with these men."

"With these people? What kind of relationship?

"... I've worked with him several times. On that edge."

To Faitha's answer, the receptionist nods, I see.

Probably interpreted it as being the same as being a teacher and a dojo.

And he also seemed to understand that he had an unseen strength to be able to meet with someone as decent as Faitha.

But still, men,

"Uhm, if that's what you mean...... but this exam is unusual. I'd better drop it off this time and turn around next time... actually,"

Once you seem convinced, say so and shake your head.

Apparently, there was something going on, and the man opened his mouth to say it.

But there,

"... hey, was there a problem?

and from behind the man, a long-haired young man appeared with a gruesome face, and asked the man yes.

From what I wear, I can see that he is also a soldier, and from his attitude he seems to be in a better position than the man at reception.

The receptionist noticed that, too, and looked like he was in a panic.

"Yes, no. Nothing in particular. Major Siu."

I replied.

Major Siu, said the person who

"Really? Sounds like it took a while for that... so what about you guys?

and turn the water to the Lulu's.

Lulu answered honestly, especially since he wasn't trying to ask questions, but simply how he was asking what had happened.

"I'm here to apply for an army enlistment exam, but I was just having trouble accepting it"

Then Major Siu tilted his neck,

"Applying for an enlistment exam? You can just accept it."

and asked the man at the reception.

And the man at the reception,

"No... these are Leonard's men"

Answering, Major Siu opens his eyes a little and looks at the Lulu's.

"... does that mean you guys are here with the intention of pairing up with active soldiers?

Major Siu seems to have seen the Lulu and thought that the Lugun people had volunteered for the army.

It is true that both acceptances are the same, so I can see that you mistake them for that.

"I just heard that story, but I'm going to... Is something wrong?

When Lulu asked that, Major Siu said,

"Not strange... I see, is it? You were convincing these guys to stay with you, weren't you?

And he tells the man at the reception, and the man at the reception puts a grudge on it, but answers honestly.

"Yeah, well... I was trying to protect the future of young people"

"Don't treat people like demons or something...... well, I figured that out. Either way, these guys will be ready. You can tell by looking into your eyes. Accept him."

said Major Siu.

to orders from humans, who presumably are superiors, the receptionist snorted,

"Okay."

said, and handed the Lulu and the others a plate with silver metal numbers on it.

"What's this?

When Lulu asks, the man explains.

"It's an exam form. With him, tomorrow morning, if you come here, you'll get an enlistment exam in the hall inside."

"Tomorrow? I heard it'll take a few days."

"Well, I usually do, but this time I don't have many exams..."

"That's again, why?

"It's..."

Major Siu, who was behind the man, laughed and answered Lulu's question as the man seemed to have difficulty saying it.

"That's because I'm the examiner this time. I mean, whoever can't beat me can't enlist."

To this, Lulu and the others thought, I see, but I had no intention of responding any more.

Even if they say so, I'm still not sure why.

Look at this, the man at the reception, he adds an explanation.

"Usually an intermediate class officer becomes an examiner...... this one's strength is an advanced class. Besides, he's not willing to do anything about it... and why did you make him an examiner..."

to a man holding his head as he said that, Major Siu,

"I guess that's all you've come for. It's just that you're lying that you're not willing to let it go. Take your exams with confidence."

He says that sarcastically, waves flirtatiously, and leaves.

Looking at it, Illis said.

"It was quite a non-military atmosphere..."

The receptionist man who was listening to it nodded,

"Well, it's just here, that's why I haven't been able to make much of an appearance. I really wouldn't be surprised if he was a colonel by now, but he hates me a lot from above. The trust from under is thick."

"Can we just talk like us like that?

"Ha. This is something we all know if you're a hazy person. It's just that he's really strong. Don't expect to hear about the exam. I'll see you tomorrow morning."

That's what I said and laughed.

It's just as if you don't expect the Lulu's to take the exam, and you can see the degree of confidence in that strength in Major Siu.

But naturally, the Lulu's aren't going to lose or anything.

If there is only one problem, how much less should I do to come to the exam?

That was about it.
