You Look Like You’re Drawing Me
Chapter 44
【…How do guys braincannon such imaginative content, all they did was meet once, and it was such a brief encounter, why is it that I didn’t sense all this from their encounter.】
【Insane, absolutely unreal, I will happily accept this recommendation, do you have more resources?】
【This is wrong, it’s evident the uke and seme’s the other way round, I think the black shirt guy’s the seme, Fa Ning can continue being an obedient cross-dressing uke loli, which cross-dressing loli out there would be a seme.】
【They do exist… I’ve read a rated one before where the cross-dressing loli is the seme…】
【What kind of combi would that be, sinful demon uke x cross-dressing cute loli seme?】
Yuan Yuan Yuan continued scrolling through the comments. After about ten minutes, she realised she couldn’t continue scrolling. Turns out the entire comment thread had been reported.
…
Great move. The society and world needs some peace and harmony.
She threw her phone aside and touched the pendant hanging around her neck. When she was in glamour, this pendant was red in colour, but when she didn’t have her glamour on, it was white.
The fact that this pendant could change colour with her glamour was really quite a scary fact, so Yuan Yuan Yuan didn’t really want to continue thinking about this.
The accidental non-PG occurrence that popped up in the comments today was something she had not expected. She’d braincannoned about other fictional characters before, but she’d never expected herself to be the subject of someone else’s imagination. In that perspective, it do kinda be feeling like karma was catching up on her. The more she thought about it, the more she didn’t know if she should laugh or cry.
But Yuan Yuan Yuan herself knew too, that this was just entertainment for most people. There were those that truly shipped the black shirt guy with Fa Ning, but there were only a handful of people who would seriously think they should get into a relationship. The rest of the people were really just here for the commotion and hype.
And honestly speaking, she didn’t actually have a lot of opportunities to properly talk to the MC. Compared to the other characters in the manga, she was really a periphery side character. The true couple explicitly written by Ji Qiu was made clear in the manga — the MC didn’t have a girlfriend, but according to his background, he seemed to have a fiancée that had been engaged to him since a long time ago. Not only so, he was also pretty close to a handful of other female demons — they were the true trending couple that the readers were shipping.
The target audience of Demons was really youths that enjoyed shonen manga. The storyline of Demons was overall on the more realistic side. Not only so, the MC also have a number of romantically ambiguous and close female friends, so the amount of male readers were way higher than female readers. Ji Qiu himself also seemed to be pretty straightforward and dense about certain things, this was also why Yuan Yuan Yuan was so certain that Ji Qiu was a “he” even though she’d never seen Ji Qiu personally. The entire manga was exuding a strong masculine-perspective evident of people of such natures.
Before this chapter was out, Yuan Yuan Yuan had intially thought that there weren’t gonna be any fujoshi fan service in this manga. So she definitely did not expect Ji Qiu to pull something like this… even a cross-dressing loli appeared goodness gracious.
How should she put this… Ji Qiu was incredibly straightforward and blatant about it, as though he was not afraid of the possible comments he’d get.
She was not as thick skinned as him, she shall willingly give in.
Yuan Yuan Yuan remarked jokingly to herself in her head before she got up, ready to go to work. She’d originally thought that there wouldn’t be a lot of female readers following Demons. It was only today did she realise that there were actually quite a lot of them, it’s just that they were lurking most of the time.
The normal readers must have been scared away by this cult of readers.
Sister Li’zi said they were recruiting for more demons, so Yuan Yuan Yuan had to continue as Hong Xiu until they find a new Hong Xiu.
Hong Xiu* came from the idiom: accompanying the night study scholar was a female in red sleeves filling up the incense by his side. The Hong Xiu here however only had to refill the incense. Sister Li’zi however felt that pouring liqour was really too difficult a job for Yuan Yuan Yuan, the latter was really too rough and uncaring of her demeanour for a job like this. And so, Sister Li’zi told her she didn’t need to care about the liqour part.
* Hong Xiu means red sleeves
Yuan Yuan Yuan returned to sitting at the same hallway. The pot in front of her today evidently burned incense better than the one yesterday. As she topped up the incense, she realised she seemed to have grasped some kind of understanding, and so, she silently started calculating the amount to fill.
And just like this, the days slowly passed. One day, two days… it remained so until a new chapter of Demons was released.
…
Speaking of which, the last chapter stopped when the MC was cross-dressing and appeared in the saloon. The chapter this time was probably also the MC continuing his dedicated journey to slay demons and destroy the evils for the betterment of humans.
Even though Yuan Yuan Yuan felt that the MC was crazy wonky, deep inside, she still thought that the MC was really super awesome and powerful. And despite the fact that she had not seen the MC’s actual face in real life, her impression of his OPness remained.
Only someone who was really caught up in the situation personally experiencing everything would understand how difficult and dangerous it was to accomplish whatever he was trying to do. It really wasn’t something as easy as what was depicted. Even though the readers remarked that Demons was a very realistic manga, what was actually illustrated was still far from reality, there were still a lot more that happened that wasn’t visible.
Compared to the real demon world, the one that Ji Qiu had illustrated was a censored version that had blurred out a lot things. A lot of the bloodier happenings had been artistically depicted, hence as to why the manga was still around and not taken down due to depictions of violence.
Yuan Yuan Yuan removed the heavy, red robes she had on, plucked out the fake nails one by one — these nails were long and sharp enough to scratch people — and removed her wig.
She wrinkled her nose after she smelt herself. Sister Li’zi would always spray some kind of perfume on her body. It was such a strong scent anyone within five metres of her presence would be able to smell it. At the same time, it was also strong enough to cover her human scent.
She wondered what kind of perfume that was. ♢ YOU LOOK LIKE YOU’RE DRAWING ME, CHAPTER 44 is hosted at ZHANLANN.COM ♢
Yuan Yuan Yuan walked over to the back kitchen, and greeted Si Qun who had been working away. Si Qun remained silent. Yuan Yuan Yuan noticed that he would get shy even when he spoke to the young demons that was only as tall as her knees.
She had no idea how he survived all these years.
”Our saloon appeared on the manga, I’mma kill that Ji Qiu if I find him.” Sister Li’zi said, “Having our saloon smashed wasn’t something to celebrate about, now everyone found out about that. Not only that, a lot of our girls left because of that, now even our customers have decreased.”
