Young Master in the Apocalypse
Chapter 192 Easy
"Argh!"
The roars of the injured Uruk soldiers echoed in the air. The cold glint of Viktor's axe was always the last thing the red-skinned orcs saw before they fell dead. Meanwhile, the recruits started to fight more confidently, and they attacked the Uruk soldiers more aggressively.
One thing the people noticed is that even though Viktor was the one leading the front lines, the formations' performance became better thanks to Anna's leadership.
"Vanguard! Keep up the formation, do not get too excited. Focus!" Anna shouted.
Even though they have beaten some enemies, their fight is not over yet.
Meanwhile, Viez was struggling with the enemies attacking her group. She could barely maintain her group's formation, as the Uruks kept on attacking without relent. The frontlines were affected the most, and more than 50 recruits have suffered heavy injuries.
Viez could only clench her fist and fight harder when she saw her defensive formation crumble bit by bit. Although she tried to turn the tables, she was not strong enough.
Right as everything seemed bleak, Viez saw a strange sight.
From right across her, Viktor in his Metal Guardian form was running with 500 recruits in tow behind him. Viez was dumbfounded, she could not believe that the fight in Viktor's group was already done. That was much faster than the initial plan.
"How-"
Once again, Viez' master has made her shocked.
500 recruits led by Viktor attacked the distracted Uruks' backline. His soldiers attacked ferociously and cut through the enemy into the front lines, destroying them like an unstoppable deluge.
Realizing that was her chance to turn the tides, Viez gave an order, "Stop defending, start attacking!"
Viez' frontline soldiers started to march forward and attack.
The Uruk standing in the front lines started to panic. After all, they were attacked from both front and back. Slowly, their ranks dwindled, and the corpses litter the floor. Realizing they were in danger, they started to run and scatter.
Many managed to escape, but some died from their wounds or from being attacked while they tried to flee.
In the span of two hours, they managed to defeat the Uruks, and 200 of the orcs died.
"Yeah!"
Happy celebrations of victory echoed all around the area. It was to be expected, after all, this was their first win. However, the Quest Challenge was far from complete. They have to spend the next 7 days defeating the remaining 1700 Uruk soldiers.
After the fight was done, Viktor decided to build a temporary shelter for protection and to treat the wounded. Any recruit who got heavily injured was prioritized, while the recruits with minor or no wounds were tasked to build a makeshift wall and fort. Some were busy looking for wood and stones, while the rest were busy planning and building the facility.
Viktor also asked around 20 people to collect the weapon of the Uruks. Anna who was standing next to Viktor stared at him in bewilderment.
"Why bother collecting those weapons? They cannot be brought home."
Viktor gave Anna a mysterious, cordial smile, and said, "It's okay."
Anna did not understand, but she decided not to pry too deeply.
After Viktor divided the remaining duties, the recruits all went away to work.
Viktor planned to use the 7 days to finish the Quest Challenge. He was actually able to finish it faster, but after what he saw earlier, he realized that most of the recruits were still far away from reaching Sky Realm. They have little to no experience in close combat, and they were bad at fighting monsters. So, he had decided to use this quest to give them a chance to train.
Besides, Viktor had also realized another important thing. He was bad at leading an army.
He saw how Anna led her team with grace, creating a superb teamwork between them. She could see the changes in the battlefield, make quick decisions, and ensure those in her care were safe. Even when compared to Viez, who once served in the military, Anna was still better by a mile.
Viktor really needed someone like Anna. He needed someone who could take care and lead a lot of people in battle, as he would need a lot of people to help him create his own personal heaven one day.
The makeshift shelter and fort were finished after 6 hours. The recruits were then given some time to rest and sleep for the night.
As the sun rose, Viktor and all the recruits woke up, and the fight continued. However, Viktor has made slight changes to the formation. Now, Anna was in charge of leading 1000 recruits.
He took that decision not only because Anna was the best at commanding, but also because he was curious about the limit of Anna's commanding skills.
This time, the fight went well. Viktor and Viez stood in the front most line, so their defenses increased significantly, while the soldiers were able to freely unleash their attacks without worry of retaliation
Four hours passed by as they fought, and just like yesterday, they managed to defeat the Uruk army. 400 Uruks died in that battle, while most of the rest managed to escape. Unlike yesterday, Viktor has decided to let them escape so the recruits wouldn't be too worn out and they could be fought the next day. Anna was already informed, as well.
The next few days went by, and it was no different compared to the second day. They would defeat the Uruks, and those who tried to escape would intentionally be spared. There was no meaningful challenges, and the recruits were slowly but surely getting used to the battlefield.
Finally, the seventh day has arrived, and it was time to face Raz Gulag, the main boss of the quest. As Viktor has already known its movement patterns and the 1000 recruits on their side, it was an easy fight.
They only needed one fight to finally take down Raz Gulag.
[Congratulations, your team has finished the challenge]
[The group battle rank result: C]
[Your personal success rank: D]
After the notification, each participant would get rewards based of their achievements, including Viktor. Unlike before, he was sorely disappointed this time.
[You have received 1000 spirit stone credits]
Viktor could only swear in his mind, but he was not too surprised, this is the second time he finish the challenge and with such a huge number. It was an easy battle
However, Viktor was not too disappointed with the reward as it was not really his objective
He actually came to level up his Core of Anvil!
