Chapter 58 Prison No. [-]
Yu Dong wrote the reply and briefly read "Science Fiction World" first.

The layout is very messy and there are a lot of stuff, which is a common problem of many magazines now.

But this is also a benefit, precisely because there are things stuffed everywhere, readers buy books back, and occasionally find something new.

In addition to the published novels, there is also a social page and a page for promotional activities. This page is particularly important for today's magazines, and it is also the only channel for many readers to communicate.

After looking around, Yu Dong put down the magazine first, and then took out the grid paper he used for writing from the drawer.

He no longer remembered how many pieces of grid paper he had bought. For the novels of "Second World", nearly [-] sheets of paper were used for rough drafts alone.

These papers full of words were all piled up in the corner of the dormitory, and two layers of snakeskin bags were placed under them to prevent the ground from returning to damp.

Yu Dong first wrote the words Houyi on one piece of paper, and then wrote the words No. [-] Prison on another piece of paper.

Holding two pieces of paper, Yu Dong thought about it for a long time, and finally put the paper with "Hou Yi" written on it aside.

"Hou Yi" and "Prison No. [-]" represent two novels, the former is being conceived by Yu Dong, while the latter is already written by Yu Dong in his last life.

Just now he was considering which one to write first, and finally decided to write the simple first. He wrote "Prison No. [-]". Although there is no way to remember everything, he can write it again.

Prison No. [-], as the name suggests, is a novel about prisons.

The story tells that in the near future, human civilization is highly developed, and the pursuit of human rights has reached an extreme level.

In order to protect the human rights of prisoners, the government decided to set up a "No. [-] Prison" to detain prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment. And there is no commutation in this prison, which means that once a prisoner enters this prison, there is no chance to get out.

Prisoners will spend their entire lives in this prison.

Unlike other prisons, Prison No. [-] quickly became an "Internet celebrity" once it was established, and the government has spared no effort in promoting the prison to inmates.

People sometimes even see the promotion of No. [-] on the advertising screen on the road, and hear the absurd advertising slogan.

"Prison No. [-] - Let every prisoner be happy."

People are full of curiosity about this prison, but there are only two ways to understand it, either to become a staff member in the prison, or to become a life sentence prisoner.

The former is difficult. This prison does not recruit people at all.

The latter is easy, but no one wants to do such a silly thing.

The protagonist Lin An, a doctor of physics, was sentenced to life in prison for murdering his wife, and then he voluntarily chose to serve his sentence in Prison No. [-].

From the first day Lin An entered Prison No. [-], someone kept telling him, don't worry, Prison No. [-] was established not for punishment, but for redemption, and he could find happiness in it.

Lin An didn't quite believe this kind of rhetoric. The reason why he chose to come in was out of strong curiosity.

In the first month of being incarcerated, nothing special happened, and life here seems to be no different from other prisons.

In addition to being in a daze in the cell every day, he will be pulled out for two hours.

Although life without freedom is boring, Lin An still lives as usual every day.

But from a certain day, the prison guards began to make things difficult for these prisoners, making them work every day, and punishing them with stun guns if they did not go well.

Lin An had the idea of escaping from prison. He began to observe everything in the prison. Later, he found that the soil under the squatting pan in the toilet was very soft, and the prison guards basically did not come to his single room.

He started digging the soil, and the soil that was dug was flushed out through the water pipe.

It took him two years to dig a tunnel under the toilet and escape.

After going out, facing the pursuit of all parties, he hid his identity and fled abroad, and then started his life abroad again.

The story did not end, and the novel returned to Prison No. [-], the cell where Lin An was imprisoned.

There was a big screen in the cell, and a picture of Lin An living abroad was playing. In front of the big screen were two people, Jiang Nan, the prison administrator, and Lin An, who was wearing a virtual helmet, lying there.

It turned out that everything before was fake, but it was a virtual dream carefully prepared for Lin An by Prison No. [-], with the intention of making him think he was free.

After completing the task, the administrator Jiang Nan breathed a sigh of relief. He did not dare to relax in dealing with each prisoner, for fear that any details would make the prisoners aware of it.

After working overtime for several days, Jiang Nan is ready to go home to have a good rest and accompany his wife and children.

But when he was driving home, he suddenly found that the road ahead flashed a few times.

……

The story is actually very simple. There is a prison dedicated to detaining prisoners in virtual dreams. In the dream, prisoners think that they have successfully escaped from prison and are free, so as to make them happy.

However, on the way home, manager Jiang Nan found signs that he was also in a virtual dream.

This novel was written by Yu Dong after reading "Inception" at the time, and he was inspired to write it down. In fact, the story is similar to the double dream of "Inception".

In other words, this inspiration can be traced back to the earlier "Zhuang Zhou Mengdie".

When writing this novel, Yu Dong was also thinking about what human existence is.

Descartes said, I think therefore I am.

So is "Lin An" in the virtual dream a real existence? For him in the dream, everything in the dream is real.

At this point, "Prison No. [-]" and "Second World" are actually the same. People are seeking themselves and the truth in the virtual world.

However, Yu Dong was a little dissatisfied with the "Prison No. [-]" he wrote before. When he wrote it, he only considered the reversal of the final ending, but ignored the structure of the previous plot. That way, readers are kept in the dark until the end, and they'll just see a normal jailbreak.

Even if the plot is reversed at the end, the reader will only pat his head and shout that it is so, but the memory of the plot of the whole novel is not deep enough.

So this time he rewrote it and decided to make the previous part more readable.

You can't keep it from the readers all the time, and let the readers use their perspective to find some traces and inspirations in the previous plots, and guide them to guess the difficulty of Prison No. [-].

It can even allow some sensitive readers to perceive things in the virtual world in advance, which will not make readers lose the freshness of guessing the ending, because the structure of the double dream has an open reversal.

Thank you [Red Comrade] and [How bright the sun is] for their rewards
