Chapter 1077 Ru Kiln Has Great Vessels

Chapter 1077 Ru Kiln Has Great Vessels

The paper mallet bottle, also known as the straight neck bottle, got its name because of its shape like a paper mallet. It was a kind of utensil favored by the rulers of the Song Dynasty.

The use of paper mallet vases, in addition to simple decoration, should be vases for Song people to "burn incense and tea, hang paintings and arrange flowers".

For Song people, while appreciating such an artifact, they may also be able to find a profound life attitude and spiritual realm, which is the rational beauty unique to the Song Dynasty.

Paper mallet bottles were produced in Ru, Ding, Ge, Nanguan and other kilns in the Song Dynasty, as well as Longquan and Yaozhou kilns at the same time.

They have a common feature, that is, multi-plain surfaces, which are good at their shape and glaze color.

The quiet and introverted plastic art style more reflects the strong humanistic spirit and cultural atmosphere of Song Dynasty society.

As a standard of bottles and to add to the beauty of the living room, this bottle has always been used for display, and it has been passed down from the moment it was born.

Because the shape of the paper mallet bottle is very similar to that of a paper mallet, and the bottle neck is relatively long, it is also called a straight-neck bottle.

Most of these bottles are plate-mouthed, and its characteristic is that the mouth of the bottle is in the shape of a shallow plate. swell.

It is roughly the same shape as Shangping vase and Yuhu spring vase, except that the neck is very straight, so even if you have never made it before, it is not difficult to make.

After doing a few pieces with Zhang Gu, Chen Wenzhe stopped doing them.

He has made all the single-color glazed bottles from Ru, Ding, Ge, Nanguan kilns, and Longquan and Yaozhou kilns. Others are not classics, and there is no need to imitate them.

"In terms of completeness, there are actually the most Ru kiln porcelain on stamps, and this is a ready-made design drawing!"

The smoother and smoother it is, Chen Wenzhe can be said to be out of control.

He made a bit too much mud this time, so it shouldn't be wasted, right?
Since we want to do it, we should make it a classic, and which piece of Ru kiln porcelain that can be printed on stamps is not a classic?
In 2002, the State Post Bureau officially issued a set of stamps with the theme of Ru Kiln Porcelain - "Huaxia Ceramics - Ru Kiln Porcelain" across the country.

This set of stamps is based on the treasures handed down from the Palace Museum of China, the Northern Song Dynasty three-legged statue, the Northern Song three-legged washing machine, the Northern Song bowl and the Northern Song plate, showing the unique charm of Ru kiln porcelain cultural relics.

If it's just imitation, Chen Wenzhe really doesn't bother to imitate ordinary utensils such as bowls, plates, and statues.

However, he is really interested in imitating the handed down treasures on postage stamps.

Three-legged statues with string patterns are not common, but Chen Wenzhe knows of two that have been handed down from generation to generation.

One is collected in the Shendu Palace Museum, and the other is collected in the British David Foundation.

This thing belongs to the porcelain used for court furnishings. The three-legged statue with string pattern selected into the Ru porcelain stamp is the treasure of the Imperial Palace Museum in Shendu. It is a rare large piece of Ru porcelain handed down from generation to generation.

When researching materials, Chen Wenzhe paid special attention to the production of large-scale utensils.

Moreover, it has also been researched and understood how to make large pieces of Ru Kiln.

If it was more than ten or twenty years ago, he would not have dared to imitate the large utensils of Ru kiln, because the imitation would not be recognized by the world.

But now it is different, because many facts have proved that Ru kiln has large vessels, and the standard of large vessels is one foot!
Why are Ru kilns mostly small pieces?Because the production of large objects is more difficult.

Why did it appear in history that Ru kiln has no great utensils and Chenghua has no great utensils, and both of them have been widely spread, but is this correct?
This is not necessarily the case, as far as Ru kiln is concerned, we now think that the largest volume of Ru kiln should be the three-legged dowry, which is so big.

Taking Chenghua Porcelain as an example, Chenghua Porcelain later discovered that there were large jars, so where is the definition of small vessels?
Now when we say there is no large vessel, we generally mean that there is no such a large vessel.

In many other dynasties, such large vessels existed.

There is no large device, it is based on a simple reason, that is, it cannot produce large devices.

At that time, Ru kiln was used as porcelain for the court, especially for the emperor, and it was actually a vessel used in daily life.

At that time, it had not yet risen to display porcelain, and due to the firing conditions at that time, large-scale vessels were not fired on a large scale.

It's just that for a long time before, judging from the unearthed kiln site, there are a large number of relics and no large ones have been unearthed.

Therefore, our descendants believe that there is no great vessel in Ru Kiln!
However, there is a record in history that in the 21st year of Shaoxing, Emperor Gaozong went to inspect and ate during the inspection.

During the meal, an important official paid tribute. This was a military official named Zhang Jun. He paid tribute to such a list.

The list is very clear about Ru Kiln. There are these things: a pair of wine bottles, a washing machine, a censer, an incense burner, an incense ball, four cups, two bowls, a pair of incense sticks, a large dowry, and a small One.

There are many things on this, which are relatively easy for us to understand.

Like wine bottles and dowry, everyone knows what it basically looks like.

For example, incense burners and lamps are relatively easy to understand.

Here is more difficult to understand, the first one is more difficult to understand, called a pair of wine bottles.

Some people say that a pair of wine bottles is still difficult to understand?

Wine bottles are not just for drinking, what else can wine bottles be like?
Today we have no way to speculate on the concept of wine bottles, especially Ru kiln wine bottles, by this Song Dynasty man.

But we know that in the Song Dynasty, the jade pot spring bottle was used to make wine.

Chen Wenzhe had collected a very early jade pot and spring vase before, and even the porcelain was not necessarily called by this name before.

The large-scale standardized firing of jade pot spring bottles was in the Yuan Dynasty, so if a pair of special wine bottles appeared in the Song Dynasty, it would be no problem for some people to suspect that they were jade pot spring bottles.

Theoretically speaking, the jade pot spring bottle is very close to the common wine bottle, especially the beer bottle.

It's both thin necked for your grip and then has a big belly for volume.

In the Song Dynasty, distilled alcohol was not drunk, that is, liquor was not drunk.

All they drink is rice wine and brewed wine, so this Yuhuchun bottle is more suitable for this amount.

And it is very convenient when pouring wine in the jade pot spring bottle.

Therefore, some people speculate that the wine bottle of Ru kiln refers to the jade pot spring bottle.

As far as we know, there should be only one surviving in the world, and the evidence is in the British Museum, where they keep the jade pot Chunru kiln vase.

Therefore, in Zhang Jun's list at that time, the wine bottle should refer to the Yuhuchun bottle.

Another kind of wine vessel, the plum bottle, is a wine storage vessel, which is relatively large in volume.

Speaking by this list, it's talking about this wine bottle pair.

No matter how you interpret it, it should be a wine storage container, right?
And as long as it is a wine container for storing rice wine, it should be not small, right?

Therefore, even if it is not a jade pot and a spring vase, the large Ru kiln wares should have been fired in history.

Also, it has been rumored since ancient times that Ru is no more than a ruler, which means that Ru kiln has no large vessels.

However, if the size is defined by a ruler, there is no need to argue, because large Ru kiln vessels with a size of more than one foot have been unearthed.
