Chapter 1078 The Biggest Surprise

Chapter 1078 The Biggest Surprise
Ru Kiln utensils collected by major museums at home and abroad are mostly washware, plates, cups, cup holders, narcissus plates, bottles, etc. Occasionally, there are bottles, trays, etc.

As far as size is concerned, there are really no oversized or oversized utensils.

However, since the 2008 archaeological excavation at Qingliang Temple, it has broken the saying that the Ru kiln has no large vessels or that the Ru is no more than a foot.

The 34.4 cm folding plate unearthed from Qingliang Temple archaeology is the evidence.

With the archaeological excavations in the new era, pots accounted for [-]% of the utensils unearthed from Ru Guan Kiln.

There are narcissus pots, open pots, lip pots, and plate edge pots.

Among them, open-mouth pots, lip-mouth pots, and plate-edge pots all have a shape of more than one chi.

Therefore, there were no large utensils in the Ru kiln in the past, and the scriptures became a thing of the past with the discovery of archaeology.

Since it is a large device, it is natural to further process the raw materials.

Chen Wenzhe already knew the flaws of Ru kiln wares and what to do to get them.

As long as there is a targeted improvement of porcelain clay and glaze, the biggest defect of Ru kiln large vessels can be solved.

These Chen Wenzhe only do, don't talk, not because he is complacent and cherishes the broom, but because he can understand what he should understand, and if he can't understand, it's useless to talk.

If he didn't say anything, Zhang Gu would definitely be surprised, because he didn't know much about Ru kiln porcelain, at least not as professional as Chen Wenzhe.

Therefore, he doesn't know whether the large Ru kiln can enter the market or whether it will be accepted by the market.

"Boss, can this big plate really be fired successfully?"

The first thing I did was to fold the edge plate, the size must be more than thirty-four centimeters, which is definitely more than one foot.

Seeing such a large plate, and still making Ru porcelain, if it is a high imitation of Ruguan kiln in the Northern Song Dynasty, can this kind of porcelain be sold?

"Haha, you don't know much about Ru kiln porcelain!" Chen Wenzhe laughed.

"I just know something about the porcelain of the Qing Dynasty!" Zhang Gu was taken aback, and immediately said.

Chen Wenzhe understood, no wonder he knew how to make flower cups, flower pouches, and flower vases, but he didn't know much about some ancient porcelains, and he didn't even know how to make three-legged dishes and three-legged washers.

During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the most sought-after porcelains were all kinds of bottles, and the common ones were bowls and plates. Who would add another thing to a snake and make a three-legged plate?

That's right, Zhang Gu did the right thing. After all, no one can learn all the shapes of porcelain from the past dynasties. After all, human energy is limited.

In this regard, no one can compare to Chen Wenzhe.

He cheated directly and gained other people's lifetime experience, so naturally he could learn as much as he could!
Now he is not only studying ancient times, but also learning modern scientific knowledge, so naturally he has recorded a lot of information.

He is very clear about the types of large wares in Ru kiln porcelain.

What has been discovered now is not only wine bottles, plates, but also some other large utensils.

"Have you ever heard of a Ru Kiln vessel that is 71 centimeters high?"

The shape of the plate is too simple. After it is finished, there is no engraving, no printing, and no decals. It is directly glazed and then fired.

For Ru kiln dishes, monochrome glazed porcelain is the best.

After finishing a large dish, Chen Wenzhe kept his hands on it, planning to make a bigger one again!

"Seventy-one centimeters?" Zhang Gu stopped his movements in surprise.

"Yes, from Qingliang Temple!" Chen Wenzhe said with a smile.

The archaeological excavation of the Ru kiln site of Baofeng Qingliang Temple began in 1987, and until 1996, a total of six excavations were carried out.

It is not difficult to find piles of porcelain pieces in ceramic archaeology, but it is all luck to find complete vessels.

And it was in Qingliangsi Village that they found the biggest surprise.

The kiln site discovered at that time was very large in scale. After archaeological drilling, the total area was 110 million square meters.

Through the identification of broken porcelain fragments, it was only used as a folk kiln at the beginning. It was not until the late Northern Song Dynasty that 4800 square meters were designated for firing official kilns. It was a comprehensive kiln.

At the corner of a small workshop in the kiln, there is a small round pit less than one meter deep, fifty centimeters deep.

Archaeologists at that time found 22 complete ceramics in it at one time, 8 of which were Ru official kilns.

This major archaeological discovery led those archaeologists to write works such as "New Discovery of Ru Kiln", "Ru Kiln in Song Dynasty", "Major Breakthrough in Ru Kiln Archeology".

Overturned many conclusions in the past on the appreciation of Ru porcelain, the first one is about the carcass color of Ru porcelain.

In the past, Ru official porcelain was regarded as incense ash body, but in the newly excavated Ru porcelain fragment specimens, there are actually a small amount of gray body and gray body;

In addition, in the past, it was generally believed that Ru kiln court porcelain focused on beautiful shapes, elegance and cleanliness, and that folks liked to depict decorations.

In fact, archaeological discovery of official kiln Ru porcelain also had decorations such as engraving, printing, lotus petals, and pierced ring feet.

Just now when Chen Wenzhe imitated the official Ru kiln, he used engraving techniques. If he didn't know this, he would never have made such a low-level mistake.

In fact, if you think about it, it becomes clear that although decorations such as engraving, printing, lotus petals, and pierced ring feet come from the folk, the earliest Ru kiln is still a folk kiln!
And this shows that imperial porcelain also absorbed decorative techniques such as engraving, printing, carving, and engraving, which are popular among the people.

Finally, there was a record in the literature on the glaze color of Ru porcelain that "sky blue is the most precious, pink green is the most precious, and sky blue is very precious".

The newly unearthed physical specimens also include moon white, bean green, egg white, green onion and so on.

This has greatly enriched the understanding of the glaze color varieties of Ru official kiln porcelain in the past.

And it was also through these studies that Chen Wenzhe determined that the color changes in Ru kiln firing were not all due to the difference in glaze materials, but part of the reason, or even a large part, was due to the firing conditions.

Even if there is no cheating method, only through the analysis of the ruins of Ru kiln, modern scientific researchers can determine that the cause of the glaze color of Ru kiln porcelain is mainly caused by the location and temperature of the kiln.

It is not the so-called blue color on blue glaze and azure color on azure glaze.

The reason why sky blue is so precious is that only two or three of the [-] pieces were burned, and most of the others were azure.

The white moon is produced because it is in the lowest temperature position.

In addition, in the past, people were limited by the handed down items in museums, thinking that "there are no large utensils in Ru kiln".

The lotus-petal aromatherapy burner, begonia-style multi-layer box, and lotus-leaf-style high ring foot device unearthed from Qingliang Temple in Baofeng all exceed 30 cm in height, which corrects people's misconceptions.

In fact, as early as 2006, a 38-centimeter Ruguan Kiln Guanyin vase appeared among the people.

The reason why it is said to be among the people here is that at that time no one believed that it was Ru official kiln porcelain, because it was too big.

Now, with the excavation of the Qingliang Temple site, the largest Ru official kiln wares ever seen are a pair of 71-centimeter-high flower-mouthed vases.

Apart from other things, let’s talk about the number of Ru official kilns. It is generally believed that there are only 65 pieces of Ru official kiln porcelain in existence.
