Chapter 1510 Undisputed

Chapter 1510 Undisputed
Why are Buddha statues in the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties so precious?
Because the number that has been handed down to the present is very small, even the thousand-year-old family in Yangluo cannot collect too many.

Because during the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, it was too chaotic.

Especially in the Southern Dynasties, it went through Song, Qi, Liang, and Chen dynasties, a total of 70 years.

During this period, Buddhism was quite developed. Du Mu famously said, "There are 480 temples in the Southern Dynasties, how many towers are in the mist and rain".

However, there are very few Buddha statues left in the Southern Dynasties. The more famous ones are those unearthed from Wanfo Temple in Sichuan.

Especially the bronze Buddha statues of the Southern Dynasties, there are only a few in the world that are genuine.

Today, most of the Buddha statues made in the Southern Dynasties are fakes.

Some, such as the old collection of Duanfang in the Qing Dynasty, and the famous gold and bronze Buddha statues made by Han Qian in the 14th year of Song Yuanjia (437), were also imitated in the late Qing Dynasty.

There are many small Buddha statues in a showcase in the Capital Museum, most of which are from the Tang Dynasty.

However, the inscriptions of the Southern and Northern Dynasties have been engraved, and the chaos in the market can be imagined.

After walking a few steps forward, what I finally saw was not the Buddha statues from the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties.

However, these Buddha statues are not simple. They are Buddha statues from the Tang, Song, and Liao periods.

And the variety is more abundant, it can be said that there are all kinds of Buddha statues.

Not to mention other things, just a Tang Dynasty, there are so many varieties.

From 618 to 907 in the Tang Dynasty, nearly 300 years.

There are Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Arhats, disciples, heavenly kings, strong men and so on.

These Buddhas have clearer duties and stronger personalities.

It can be said that all the gods described in the Buddhist scriptures are complete, and there are many Taoist statues.

For example, the statue of Maitreya seated in the Tang Dynasty is still made of iron.

If Chen Wenzhe remembers correctly, such a Maitreya Buddha should be hidden in the Chang'an Museum.

During the early Tang Dynasty and the prosperous Tang Dynasty, because of the Silk Road and other reasons, China began to fully contact the culture of the Western Regions, and was deeply influenced by foreign art ideas.

Reflected on the Buddha statues, the clothing patterns began to be as realistic as possible.

I especially like to express the three-dimensional effect of the clothing patterns, and the layers of clothing patterns show texture.

Because of the strength of the country in the Tang Dynasty, fat was regarded as beauty, which was reflected in the "three" lines on the neck of the Buddha statues.

For example, the head of the Tang Jiafu dry lacquer Buddha in front of me is very good.

Anyway, when you look at it, there is a sense of beauty in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, and it is absolutely impossible to misread it.

That's right, it must be easy for a master who can imitate such an exquisite set of Zhaoling Six Horses, and imitate some Tang Dynasty Buddha statues.

Besides, he must have been studying the technology of the Song Dynasty for a long time, or simply several generations, or even more than a dozen generations have been doing this.

In this way, it is not so surprising to be able to thoroughly study Song Fang's craftsmanship.

However, what happened to the Buddha statue in the back?Feeling a little decadent!

The row of Buddha statues in the back, starting from the first one, is getting worse and worse.

"Is this a statue of Buddha in the middle and late Tang Dynasty? The imitation is really professional!"

After the mid-to-late Tang Dynasty, the workmanship of Buddha statues began to decline, so the works of the mid-to-late Tang Dynasty also experienced a decline in quality!

Not to mention that the current master antique craftsmen are all very professional!

The Buddha statue in front of him no longer had the imposing and confident look of the heyday.

And this decadence is gradually disappearing.

As shown in the series of Buddha statues here, the shape of the Buddha statues has become more rigid, and the clothing patterns are simple, without such complicated turning points.

The corner of the coat hanging down from the pedestal on the seated Buddha recedes, only resting on the edge of the pedestal.

The Buddha statues are getting thinner and thinner, and the three-dimensional fullness of the heyday of Tang Dynasty has disappeared.

The most important thing is that most of the Buddha statues here are made of wood and stone, and that kind of bronze statues are already hard to see.

Since there are very few bronze statues, it is even more difficult to see the gilded golden Buddha.

However, what Chen Wenzhe saw now were not only gilded Buddha statues, but also pure copper Buddha statues, large and small, very complete.

It's a pity that these are obviously not genuine products, because it is impossible to have so many genuine products on the market now.

In the past, small copper Buddha statues of the Tang Dynasty that were a few centimeters or more than ten centimeters high were often seen in antique shops, but most of them are new works now.

This kind of statues began to be imitated in the Republic of China, and the fakes were different from the real ones in terms of lines, copper and gold natural wear.

However, such discrepancies are so slight that there is hardly anything wrong with them.

For example, the gilt-bronze statue of the Heavenly King imitating the Tang Dynasty in front of me is really a good imitation.

Except for the hair, this statue of the heavenly king is gilded all over, with wide open eyes and teeth, looking majestic and angry.

The king of heaven is wearing armor with vivid and smooth chiseled lines, animal head decoration on the abdomen, raised left arm, right hand on hip, mighty and powerful.

If you don't have some appreciation ability, it is difficult to distinguish the true and false of such Buddha statues.

And there is not one bronze statue of this level here.

However, as long as such a bronze statue is not a fabricated product, it must have a source.

You must know that many masters of antiques do not have a high degree of education.

You can let them imitate, but you can't let them create.

Creation must have a certain cultural foundation and sufficient self-confidence.

One must be able to fabricate cultural relics in line with the historical period according to the social and cultural environment of each period in history. Only such masters can create.

If not, then they will inevitably imitate.

Therefore, these statues of heavenly kings must have a provenance.

Chen Wenzhe looked at the statues with different statues, each one was very exquisite.

For such statues, not to mention some imitators with low education level, even Chen Wenzhe, who is knowledgeable and knowledgeable, could not create so many exquisite shapes by himself.

So, these were unearthed from the base palace of Jingzhi Temple Pagoda in Dingshi?
When he saw a gilded bronze statue imitating the Tang Dynasty, Chen Wenzhe was sure.

If these Buddha statues are authentic, each one is a treasure, which is rare to see.

For example, the gilt-bronze statue of a strongman in front of me is only 14.6 cm high, but it is truly extraordinary.

Lishi is a Buddhist Dharma protector, and he looks very mighty.

Coupled with the gilt copper, it looks even more shocking.

He wears a crown of bright jewels, a curly shawl of precious silk, and a protruding neck tendon.

The upper body and legs are bare, the muscles of the whole body are fully displayed, and the waist is tied with a skirt.

The left arm is raised, and the right arm holds the mace under the armpit.

Stand barefoot. The overall image is vividly portrayed and the proportions are accurate, which is the appearance of fine gold and bronze statues in the Tang Dynasty.

At this moment, Chen Wenzhe couldn't help but glanced at Li Jinli.

Even if these are all imitations, they are definitely fine imitations.

Such imitations, wherever they are placed, are exquisite works of art.

Even if it is not an antique, even if it is said to be a modern artwork, it still has a high artistic value.

It is indisputable that a beautiful thing can perfectly create a work of charm, and it is naturally a master work of art.

Therefore, even if these are all imitations, they are also high-value exquisite works of art.
