Chapter 1883 Written by engraving
It's better now. Looking at the stone carving factory in front of me, there are many stone carvings here, which can be said to be a collection of various classic stone carvings from all over the country.

Encountered this kind of opportunity, Chen Wenzhe really wanted to keep it in his pocket.

However, it shouldn't be too simple, because there are too many types of stone carvings here, and the carvings are too good.

Not to mention anything else, just talking about the stone sculpture of the tower building in front of you, it is definitely not simple.

There are many stone pagodas built in the past dynasties in our country, among which the use of stone carving art decoration is common.

The stones in the pagodas in the temples are mostly carved with various religious cultures.

Such as the Dali Three Pagodas from the Tang Dynasty to the Five Dynasties, the Yunju Temple Pagoda and Stone Scriptures built from the Tang Dynasty to the Jin Dynasty, and the Sakyamuni Pagoda in the Song Dynasty.

Among these pagodas and temples, there are often some stone calligraphy carvings.

Stone script carving is a category of inscriptions, and there are many types of steles, such as monuments, memorabilia, merit and virtue, temples, temples, and mausoleums.

Except for a very small number of steles without characters, they are generally written steles.

Usually the body of the stele is engraved with characters, and some are accompanied by engraved decorations.

Stele pedestals and stele covers are mostly carved with patterns, birds and animals, flowers and plants, mascots, and the stele covers of the emperor's family are also carved with dragons and phoenixes.

Most of the stone materials used to make monuments are marble, but sandstone and granite are also commonly used.

Some of the steles are huge individually, and some become a forest of steles.

Stone books are written with stones instead of paper and engravings instead of pens.

There are many masterpieces of steles and stone carvings. For example, "Chang'an Forest of Steles" includes more than 3000 historical steles from the Han Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty. It is the largest collection of stone books in the country.

Together with the "Forest of Steles in Hanlin" under construction in Kaifeng, it can be said to be a sea of steles.

These two places gather the great achievements of famous calligraphers in the past dynasties in Kai, Xing, Cao, Zhuan, Li and Wei style calligraphy.

In addition to large-scale carvings such as stone tablets and cliff stone carvings, there are other stone books and stone carvings.

Such as the mourning book in the tomb of the emperor, and the small stone book carved in modern times.

For example, there are more than 100 white marble mourning books unearthed in the tomb of the Tang prince, and the six books of "36 Strategies" carved with tile and slate in modern Sichuan have a total of 26 pages and 1278 characters. They are bound into volumes with eyeliner, and each page is 2.2.6. [-]mm, available for reading.

In addition to these stone carvings, there are the largest number of stone lion carvings.

Among the stone animal carvings in my country, stone lion carvings are unique, with countless production volumes and a wide range of decorative purposes.

Such as the stone lion carvings on both sides of the gates of imperial palaces, houses, government offices, temple mausoleums, modern large-scale commercial buildings, hotels, and restaurants, and the stone lion decoration carvings on bridges, steles, and squares.

The body shapes of stone lions can be varied, such as standing, squatting, lying down, etc., in various poses, and there are often regional differences.

The carved stone lions are made of a wide range of materials, mostly made of sandstone, marble and granite.

There are many kinds of stone carvings, stone paintings, handicrafts, stone paintings, and life art supplies.

Such as stone cliff paintings, natural colored stone paintings, mosaic stone murals and stone screens and other stone painting carvings;

Duanxiyu, Lu, Taohe, Songhua, Temple of Heaven (or Pangu) and Helan and other famous ink stone carvings;

Paperweight, stationery stone carving;
Tea sets, wine sets, smoking stone sets, lamps, tables, chairs, stools, coffee tables and other daily necessities, such as craft stone carvings, etc., are large in quantity and fine in production;

Inkstone carvings and other unique styles have become the wonders of Chinese stone culture, and mosaic stone murals are a new masterpiece of contemporary stone carving art.

For example, the colorful stone landscape painting carvings in the lobby on the first floor of the newly completed China TV Tower are magnificent and amazing in craftsmanship.

In modern times, stone carvings have not become history, but more. Because processing tools are more advanced, it is easier to process stone carvings, so commemorative stone carvings began to rise.

In order to beautify the city, improve the material and spiritual civilization life of the people, and commemorate the martyrs and heroes, my country has built some urban gardens and commemorative stone carvings.

Especially since 1978, urban sculptures, garden sculptures and memorial sculptures in large and medium-sized cities across the country have developed rapidly.

Marble and granite carvings were unprecedentedly popular during this period, and some of them are rare stone carvings.

As mentioned above, the white marble reliefs in Tianmen Square, the white marble and Shu white marble statues in the Memorial Hall and Renmin South Road in Chuandu, and the white marble statues in Jinnankai University.

The above various stone carving arts often include two or more types in a large building.

For example, stone carvings in temples often include steles, squares, towers, lions and other stone carvings.

They set off each other and decorate as a whole, forming a complete set of stone carving group art, and its cultural and artistic comprehensive value is extremely high.

These are the Chinese stone carving culture. Since the Chinese family has it, it also exists abroad, and its artistic level is also very high.

In the west, stone carving practitioners are called stone sculptors, and they are regarded as the same group as painters and artists.

However, in our country, stone carving practitioners are called craftsmen, and their social status is low, and they are only called ordinary ordinary practitioners, or even rough workers.

With the inflow of Western stone carvings, these stone carving practitioners were recognized, and stone carvings were listed as an important part of fine arts.

At this time, the status of stone sculptors in our country was promoted, and the public's recognition of stone sculptors was increased.

This is one of the reasons for the difference between Western stone carvings and Chinese stone carvings.

From a practical point of view, in modern times, although Chinese stone sculptors and Western stone sculptors are very similar in the form of creation.

However, the social responsibilities of the two are quite different.

In our country, stone carving personnel are still a member of the traditional division of labor.

Its main duty is to make statues for temple buildings and carve stones for buildings.

On the one hand, they have no free space for independent creation.

In terms of the object of expression and the space in which the works are located, their works lack the ability to intervene in social reality.

In the West, stone sculptures created freely in the "studio" can express their observations on society with the help of works, and the power of the works is not weaker than that of contemporary painters.

Western stone sculptures that accept orders from all parties and profit from them can enter various public spaces in modern society.

Such as squares, streets, and parks, their works will naturally attract public attention.

This is another reason why Western stone carvings are different from Chinese stone carvings.

"Is this a foreign temple? The Temple of Baalbek?"

It was because he saw a foreign-style building that Chen Wenzhe thought of Western stone carvings.

He really didn't expect that he saw a shrunken version of the temple building next.

Thinking about it at this time, it is not without reason to imitate this temple, because it is one of the most amazing relics in the "World Heritage List".

However, why does Chen Wenzhe feel that the scaled-down versions of Western buildings do not taste right?

"It's a bit ironic? Like a fake? Or what he meant, that these buildings are fake?"

Looking at it, Chen Wenzhe laughed. The shrunken versions of the ancient western buildings here are all a bit wretched.

If you zoom in to the real version, it may feel shocking to look at, but it's really not good to zoom out.

Maybe this is the author's intention?He just doesn't like these western buildings?
