Mountain Miscellaneous
Chapter 42
Chapter 42
There are steep slopes on both sides of the valley, and it is impossible for chickens to leap.
The flat area is fenced with barbed wire, isolating the chicken farm from the wilderness outside.
But in just one day, nearly a hundred chicks were missing!
Li Changqing carefully surveyed the guardrails surrounding the city with barbed wire and found many earth holes at the bottom.
The soil hole is as big as an adult's fist, and only small animals should be able to pass through it.
Li Changqing also found a few light yellow hairs in the soil of the cave, so he probably knew what was going on.
Weasel is the most common small carnivore in the mountains. It often sneaks up on poultry, sucks its blood first and then eats its internal organs.
Li Changqing found several soil holes, which can prove that there is more than one weasel.
Even if the hole is blocked, the weasel still has a way to get in.
Li Changqing wondered whether to ask Li Changwu to borrow some animal traps and put them near the cave.
However, the weasel is extremely alert and always maintains a state of deep alert, so it is difficult to catch it directly with a trap!
I also thought that I had completed the Mohism task, but hadn't submitted it yet, maybe there is a solution.
Entering the Zhuzi Baijia game, Qin Huali stood in Tianji Pavilion and looked at Li Changqing with a smile.
"In just a few days, I realized the deep meaning in "Fei Gong", "Jian Ai", and "Ming Gui". Congratulations!" Qin Huali praised.
"Congratulations!", Li Changqing reads like a god, and his reading efficiency is far beyond human comparability.
What's more, compared with Confucian classics, Mohist's "Fei Gong", "Jian Ai", and "Ming Gui" have much less explanatory notes.
"In view of the outstanding performance of the little brother, I will give you a copy of "Gongshu"." Qin Huali took out a thick book and said.
"Thank you for the book!" Li Changqing took the book and thanked him.
"Our Mohist institutions are famous all over the world, especially for their defense. In order to prevent the Chu State from attacking the Song Dynasty, the teacher once debated with Master Lu Ban for three days and three nights, and wrote the result as "Gongshu". The exquisite explanation of the master's mechanism!" Qin Huali explained.
"The situation that day must have been wonderful, but it's a pity that I couldn't witness it with my own eyes!"
It's hard for Li Changqing to imagine how mysterious the two peak originators' offensive and defensive duel is.
"Hehe, if there is a chance in the future, I will give you three more copies of "Guiyi", "Gongmeng", and "Luwen"!" Qin Huali said again.
After Li Changqing chatted with Qin Huali for a few more words, he withdrew from the schools of thought.
On the hillside of the valley of the chicken farm, there is a big tree that looks like a canopy, and the rhizomes below it protrude out of the soil to form a natural chair.
Li Changqing sat on a chair made of rhizomes, took out "Gongshu" and began to study.
The sun shines through the leaves, leaving mottled shadows on the books, and a gust of wind blows and shakes them left and right.
Some chicks climbed to the steep part of the hillside, fluttered their wings and tried to fly, but they could only scratch a small piece of dirt.
Li Changqing squinted and saw it, and then carried the chick back to the flat ground with his palm, and then continued to sit on the chair formed by the roots of the tree and read a book, enjoying the afternoon reading time in the chicken farm in the col.
The "Gongshu" given by Qin Huali is quite different from the circulated version, and the content in it is extensive and profound.
Even when Zhuge Liang left Qishan six times, there were wooden cattle and horses specially used to transport grain and grass.
Even the wooden bird that Mozi spent three years making can fly all day can be found in Gongshu.
Li Changqing was greatly inspired by watching it. The whole "Gongshu" is equivalent to talking about mechanical engineering.
Generalize many invention concepts, and after comprehension, you can draw inferences from one instance and create some other things.
Even some of these inventions are far beyond the current level of science and technology.
Advanced inventions like the wooden robot Luban No. [-] are driven by pure mechanical power.
Not only can you speak lines, walk, and fire weapons, but you can also react to the environment.
The knowledge involved is extremely complicated, and Li Changqing couldn't understand the mechanical principles in it for a while.
A fiery cloud appeared in the sky, indicating that tomorrow's weather will be particularly sunny, and Li Changqing regained his senses from "Gongshu".
Reading "Gongshu" is quite different from reading "The Analects", "University", and "The Doctrine of the Mean". They are experiences of two styles.
The former is to use scientific principles to explore new discoveries, while the latter is to cultivate the inner and outer sages while listening to the teachings of sages.
Li Changqing got a lot of inspiration from "Gongshuo", and planned to make a trap to catch the weasel.
The first invention of "Gongshuo" was actually used to prevent weasels from invading chicken coops, and no one probably...
Li Changqing probably knew how to do it in his heart, but it was too late and he had to go back to the cabin first.
Every evening when the little squirrel saw Li Changqing, he would pester him to drink the spiritual water. Li Changqing had no choice but to fill the little squirrel with spiritual water.
Li Changqing didn't read immediately, the moon and stars were scarce in the night sky.
I can't help but think of the two poems in "Xiaomei in the Mountain Garden", the shadows are sparse and the water is clear and shallow, and the fragrance is floating in the moon and dusk.
It is the eternal swan song of Yongmei, which describes plum blossoms as extraordinary and beautiful, reflecting its quiet and fragrant demeanor.
The original sentence is a fragment of the Southern Tang River in the Five Dynasties. The bamboo shadows are horizontal and the water is clear and shallow, and the osmanthus is floating in the moon and dusk.
Both bamboo and sweet-scented osmanthus are written, but neither the characteristics of the bamboo shadow nor the fragrance of sweet-scented osmanthus are mentioned.
However, Li Changqing felt that if he planted some bamboo behind the cabin, he would plant some sweet-scented osmanthus and orchids on the left side, and plum blossoms and chrysanthemums on the right side.
Wouldn't it be a great pleasure to hang a string of wind chimes in the bamboo forest, sit in it and read and enjoy the moon?
Li Changqing felt that this artistic conception was very beautiful in his heart, and thought about putting this matter on the agenda.
An inch of time is an inch of gold, and the present time must be cherished. Li Changqing began to read the third book of the Four Books, "The Doctrine of the Mean".
"The mandate of heaven is called nature, the way of self-will is called Tao, and the way of cultivating Tao is called teaching."
"The Dao is one that cannot be separated from it even for a moment; if it can be separated, it is not the Tao."
"That's why a gentleman is cautious about what he doesn't see, and afraid of what he doesn't hear."
"There is nothing to be seen but nothing to be seen, nothing to be seen to be hidden, and nothing to be seen to be hidden, so a gentleman should be careful about his independence."
For Chapter 1 of "The Doctrine of the Mean", I introduced the topic from the point of not being able to leave for a moment, emphasizing the issue of "being cautious about independence" that was also explained in "University".It requires people to strengthen their self-awareness, sincerely act in accordance with their natural nature, and cultivate themselves according to the principles of the Tao.
It is only after this chapter that the category of the golden mean is raised positively and enters the theme of the whole book.
"Zhongni said: A gentleman is mean, and a villain is against the mean. A gentleman is mean, and a gentleman is moderate. A villain is against the mean, and a villain has no fear."
It is a vivid explanation of "a gentleman is moderate in time". Excessiveness and insufficientness seem to be different, but their essence is the same, and neither meets the requirements of moderation.
The requirement of the mean is just right, such as the son of the great beauty in Song Yu's "Dengtuzi Lustful Fu": "An increase of one point is too long, and a decrease of one point is too short; powder is too white, and Shi Zhu is too red."
Just right is the golden mean, which is the highest moral standard of Confucianism.

Thank you for your rewards from me, Wujiu, etc.~ It’s been a busy day today, and I washed my face with cold water several times before I insisted on finishing writing, but from tomorrow onwards, there should be less things to do, and I have more time to write books!
