The other engine is the V2500, which is a twin-rotor, axial-flow, high-bypass turbofan engine developed and produced by IAE.It began to be developed in September 83, and the first engine began to operate in 9. On April 85, 88, it obtained the type airworthiness certificate of Laomei, and began to install it on the Airbus A4 for test flight in July of that year. It is mainly used for A24 series aircraft.Its biggest advantage is that it has three major characteristics: the fan blade with no boss, wide chord and hollow, "floating wall" combustion chamber and high fuel efficiency.

Although it is said that the manufacturer of the V2500 engine is IAE, Niello is also an important shareholder.In other words, this company was specially established by Rolls-Royce and the old American Pratt & Whitney to counter General Electric and its joint establishment of CFM with SNECMA, as well as the CFM56 series engines.There are five main shareholders. In addition to Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney, there are three other companies from other countries.And this V2500 engine is also a product jointly developed by these five companies.

Different from CFM company, this time IAE company did not participate in the negotiation process for some reason.Therefore, Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney are specially authorized to represent their products, that is to say, there is genuine authorization, and there is no problem in this regard.On this point, it is more kind than General Electric.

This time, Rolls-Royce mainly recommended to Jiang Chen and the others the V2522-D5 engine, whose thrust can reach 97.8N.Although the thrust of the previous two engines has decreased, it is just suitable for Jiang Chen and his airliner.Of course, Rolls-Royce promised that as long as an agreement is reached, they will improve on the basis of this model so that its maximum thrust can reach 120N, which can fully meet the needs of the passenger plane developed by Jiang Chen and the others.

As for these three engines, Rolls-Royce's quotation is much lower than before, and it is also much lower than the price quoted by General Dynamics.Among them, RB211-535E4, the price of this engine is 560 million US dollars, while RRB211-535E4B is 600 million US dollars.As for the V2522-D5, its price is 520 units.For Jiang Chen and the others, this is still a reasonable offer.
