Riding the wind of rebirth

Chapter 1688: The Child Cadre is Likeable

Chapter 1688: The Child Cadre is Likeable

Under the admiring gazes of the Yi folks, Lao Chi Ri took the big rooster he had brought with him, took out a knife and killed it with one stroke. Then he held the rooster upside down and began to dance and sing, shaking his head and walking around the water gate at the highest point of the mountain dragon.

This is the ancient ritual song of Bimo during "Xing Nuo", which has the meaning of celebrating success, praying for blessings, and bestowing blessings and protection.

Zhou Zhi knew this would happen, so he took out his video recorder to record it.

After Lao Chi Ri finished his Nuo ritual, he turned the chicken's head over, then pinched the chicken's wings with one hand and its mouth with the other, and showed it to the Yi people: "The chicken's eyes are wide open, which means good luck and fortune!"

"Aooooooo——" All the Yi people cheered happily with smiles on their faces, looking almost the same as Wu Renzhong who had just jumped down the mountain and was now jumping up again.

This is called "beating the chicken to ask for divination" and is a custom among my country's ethnic minorities. It is very popular among the Mosuo, Tibetan, Yi, Pumi and Miao ethnic groups.

However, all ethnic groups recognize that the Bimo of the Yi ethnic group has the highest skills in chicken divination.

There are many divination techniques. You can kill a chicken with a hammer and throw it out of the door. Observe the direction of the chicken's body. If the chicken's head is facing outward, it is auspicious; if it is facing inward, it is ominous; if it is facing horizontally, it is neither auspicious nor ominous.

For example, if a chicken lies on its side or spreads its wings, it is ominous, while sitting or standing is the most ominous, and the rest are auspicious.

Another example is looking at the chicken's beak. If there is a red spot on the beak, it means money will come in; if there is a black spot, it means money will go out.

Another example is to look at the opening and closing of the chicken's mouth. If the mouth is open, it is unlucky, indicating that there may be a quarrel or a fight with the enemy; if the mouth is closed, it is auspicious, indicating peace and tranquility.

Another example is to look at the bone marrow. If you split open the chicken leg bone, if there is plenty of bone marrow, it means a good harvest; if there is not enough bone marrow, it means a poor harvest.

For example, look at the three forks on the hyoid bone: the short one in the middle symbolizes the kitchen god, Janbala. If it bends well and points forward, it means that Janbala's business will be prosperous and good things will happen. If it curls messily and its direction is uncertain, it means that Janbala is unhappy and does not want to bless his master, and bad things will happen, and the kitchen god must be worshipped afterwards.

The long bones on both sides, the left one is the host, and the right one is the guest. If both bones face forward and are parallel, it is auspicious; if they curl toward the center, outward, or backward, it is not good. The host bone curling indicates bad luck for the host, and the guest bone curling indicates bad luck for the guest.

Another example is looking at the eye socket bone of a chicken. The left side represents the host, and the right side represents the guest. No color is auspicious, black is ominous, and the distance between the black spot and the eye socket is used to judge: the farther the black spot is, the slower it comes, and the closer it is, the faster it comes.

What Lao Chi Ri is using now is to look at whether the eyes are open or closed. If the eyes are open and bright, it is auspicious; if the eyes are half open and half closed, it is average; if the eyes are tightly closed, it is inauspicious.

Of course, the right of interpretation lies with Bimo.

Zhou Zhi seriously suspected that Lao Chi Ri had a set of techniques that could control the final opening and closing state of the corns during the dance, but he did not have any evidence at all and could only smile foolishly along with the happy Yi people.

The person who was most shocked was Tu Liangzhi. It was obvious that the old man was indulging in feudal superstition again, but because of the "miracle" in the first half, he couldn't say this feudal superstition out loud.

On the contrary, Elbow never seemed to doubt whether the old man's idea could succeed, and he fully cooperated all the way, even starting to build the chicken farm before the water was even brought there. What kind of trust is this?

Thinking of this, Tuliangzhi even felt a little ashamed.

"Let's go! Let's go down the mountain and eat chicken!" Lao Chi Ri threw the big rooster to Zhou Zhi, put his hands behind his back, and went down the mountain first surrounded by a group of Yi people.

"The Bimos are the masters of wisdom." Zhou Zhi came to Tu Liangzhi's side: "Although their knowledge system is not the same as modern science, they have been able to lead all aspects of the Yi society for thousands of years. There must be some reason for them."

"It's fine to question, but at least you have to question after you understand the situation clearly." Zhou Zhi smiled and said, "Vice Governor Li has already instructed us to explore the intangible cultural heritage of the old man, collect and organize the Bimo culture, leave precious cultural and spiritual wealth for the Yi people, and contribute to the cultural diversity of the Chinese nation. I have conveyed it to you verbatim, so you must pay attention to cooperating with the leadership's intentions."

"Stop talking nonsense!" Tu Liangzhi was a little angry: "So many people are watching this, it's time to waste money at home!" "Yes, hurry down, auntie can't handle it alone!"

Jiachuan tofu pudding was brought to Lianhe Township by Zhouzhi. Today, the stream in the township was restored, which was a big event worth celebrating, and everyone gathered at the grain station.

At times like this, the person in charge has to come out and treat everyone to a banquet to make the place lively.

Moreover, this event is spontaneous, and there is no need to send out invitations. If the preparations are not thorough, it means that the person in charge is unreasonable. Zhou Zhi will certainly not make such a mistake. He had already asked Gillette Abi about it beforehand.

But nowadays, the Yi people are easy to deal with, and the banquet does not need to be too complicated. Jilie Abi said that just eating tofu rice will be enough.

Zhou Zhi felt that it was a bit too much, so he went to Jiukou Township and bought half a pig. He added dried mushrooms and potatoes, and the feast became a large pot of tofu pudding on each table, a dish of braised pork with mushrooms and potatoes, a plate of peanuts, a plate of fried eggs with leeks, a plate of fried pumpkin with rice crust, and a plate of fried green onions with bean dregs.

The food was so shabby that it was horrible, but the Yi people enjoyed the meal very much. They didn't even use a table, but just used the winnowing baskets that Zhou Zhi usually bought for the children to dry ferns. One winnowing basket was a meal, and everyone squatted there to eat and drink. A peanut could be matched with a big sip of corn wine. Zhou Zhi realized that many people didn't come for the food, but for the wine.

It seems that in the countryside, high-proof corn liquor is even a better hard currency than the RMB.

This custom is actually a bad habit. Being addicted to drinking will definitely lead to mistakes.

But the three-foot-thick ice does not form overnight, and there are deep-seated reasons behind the formation of anything.

The industry in Lianhe Township is simple. Most people have nothing to do after planting potatoes. Life is hard and difficult, and they can only numb themselves and get relief through alcohol. Over time, alcohol will become a custom and a dependence.

Therefore, to break the bad habits is not a matter of holding meetings and shouting slogans or painting slogans on the mud wall outside the grain station. The real way is to make the villagers have the determination and motivation to work from morning to night, fall asleep on the kang after dinner, and occasionally indulge themselves for a short time during the New Year and other festivals, just like the villagers in Baimi Township in my hometown. This is the best way to solve this problem.

Now we can only take it step by step.

Zhouzhi now has an extremely good image among the villagers. Zhouzhi has brightened the dam in front of the grain station, so that everyone has a place to chat and gossip at night; he collects eggs from the village to serve as a side dish for the children, which children in other villages do not have such treatment; he collects ferns from the children to supplement their family income. In fact, the children do not have much time to collect ferns, as most of them are collected by their parents in the mountains during the slack season, and Zhouzhi still collects them.

Now the village has a large color TV, and the conference room at the grain station is so lively every night...

Now we have set up a library for the children and obtained teaching materials, so that they have more books to read.

Then he built a large chicken farm in the back hills and offered generous wages to the workers...

People are all made of flesh and blood, and the villagers expressed great satisfaction with the two "baby cadres" sent to them by the Party and the government.

They didn't even know that Zhou Zhi actually brought his own food with him, and was completely different from a real dispatched cadre like Wu Renzhong, but they were obviously more willing to obey Zhou Zhi's management.
