Chapter 25 Hadgar II

Chapter 25 Hadgar II

It seemed that this man knew nothing about golden eagles, let alone being employed by him.

"If you don't believe me, it's useless to ask." Hadgar said angrily.

"Who are you working for?" Soi Ying persisted.

Hadgar studied Sombra's hazel eyes. He wondered who the jerk was working for, why he was so interested in a beggar's life.

Things should be far from as simple as what the golden eagle told him, that damn Vivalia brat.

"If I tell you what I know, I need you to tell me what you know," Hadgar said.

Black Shadow smiled and said, "You don't seem to understand the current situation, Hadgar Grayman. You are not qualified to bargain now."

"Well, if that's the case," said Hadgar lightly, "then I don't know anything."

"I think you may have forgotten something." The black shadow hung the torch on the wall and pulled out the dagger from his waist. "Don't worry, I have plenty of time for you to remember."

The wounds on the dead man behind him must have been caused by the shadow, Hadgar thought.

"If you think you can get me to talk through torture, you're totally wrong." Hadgar said disdainfully, "I'm not the same as those cowards who are afraid of pain."

"Many people have said that, and they all begged me to give them a break in the end, and let them die quickly." Hei Ying said.

"I've heard the Musors are twisted perverts," Hadgar said. "Hammer should have killed you all."

When "Iron Hammer" Atachinu Apolion's second southern expedition failed, he executed all the Musors who had been arrested on suspicion of collaborating with the enemy, dug pits, burned their bodies, and finally buried them.

Hadgar was lucky enough to witness this scene as a child, because Hammer is extremely flexible and casual in sentencing, and there should be no Musors in the city who can escape the charge of treason.

The fire burned for a whole week, and the black smoke covered the entire city of Madkalin. It was a smell of rotten eggs in the burning charcoal.

"No one has ever conquered the dry land," Sombra's tone became solemn, "not even the mightiest Emperor Hastza. Atachinus was just a tyrant who slaughtered innocents. He even killed the walls of Muros. Can't get past it."

"If you dig deep enough," Hadgar teased, "maybe you can find the bones of your ancestors somewhere in Madkalim, or the skull of King Talha Redmoore, no, His skull should still be on the bottom of the rift."

"It seems that you like to play with fire with your mouth, disaster star." Heiying laughed.

"The rest of me can't move now, can I?" Hadgar said helplessly.

"Blood debts, Apolion will naturally come back to pay for the crimes they committed. But mentioning the shame of my people will do you no good, it will only bring you more torture and pain."

The dagger in Sombra's hand was shining coldly, as if yearning for the warmth of Hadgar's blood. He was in a desperate situation, alone and helpless.Even if someone knew where he was, no one would come to rescue him, because no one cared about him.

Nobody cares about a guy who licks blood in an arena. The employers paid him to do his work; the Empire gave him a bonus for his victories; the golden eagle gave him gold to kill, only to end up in this dark cesspit he didn't know what to call.

Fate had made him live only for himself, but now he should die for someone else, it was absurd.

"Besides this beggar, how many people have you killed?" Black Shadow asked.

"I've never killed anyone outside the arena," Hadgar replied, "but if it was inside the arena, excluding you, there might be seventy or eighty, and I didn't bother to count them."

"Did you go to the Pantheon of the Stars in the square a few days ago?"

"I don't know what you're talking about," Hadgar shook his head.

"Continuing to be stubborn like this won't do you any good, Calamity." Soi Ying said.

"I don't know anything, how can I tell you to believe it?" Hadgar said.

Even though he knows very little, he won't tell the whole story.Because he understands that if he has no use value, there is no reason to stop a man from killing himself.

"Why do you care so much about that beggar's life? How many people like this will die in the city of Madkalin every day." Hadgar asked.

"I'm the one asking the question," Sombra said, "Answer my question, who hired you, do you have any accomplices?"

"It's no use pressing an innocent person," Hadgar said, "because I'm telling the truth."

"You can do anything for money, don't pretend to be innocent in front of my face." Hei Ying said.

"I even forgot that you still have a face." Hadgar laughed.

The black shadow took out the dagger and pressed it against Hadgar's neck. "Tell me everything you know, or die."

"Although I don't want to die at the hands of my defeated opponent, but fuck him, that's it." Hadgar gritted his teeth, and he could feel the sharpness in his throat every time he said a word.

Sombra's eyes didn't respond, and Hadgar couldn't observe the expression under his mask.

"I've seen many lying faces," Sombra said flatly, "You're not good at lying, disaster star. Your eyes are frightened, and you're desperate for life.

Hadgar stared into Sombra's eyes and said, "If you kill me here, you will break your last clue."

The black shadow chuckled and pulled the dagger away from Hadgar's neck, "I'm not bluffing."

After saying that, the black shadow raised the dagger and slammed it into Hadgar's left hand.

"Ah ah ah ah ah--"

Hadgar let out a cry of pain, and the dagger was directly inserted between the bones of his hand, that was the sound of metal colliding with bone. The thrust was so hard that he felt as if his fingers were snapped off.

He gritted his teeth to regain his focus, but his whole body was throbbing for his left hand.Pain writhed up and down his body, but he was too restrained to move.He wanted to escape, the pain in his heart made him wish he was dead.

"I don't like tricks," Sombra's voice echoed in Hadgar's ear. "Tell me the truth, or your other hand will open your mouth for you."

Hadgar breathed rapidly through his mouth, still burning with pain in his left hand.He raised his eyes and stared at the black shadow, without saying a word.

There was only one thought on Hadgar's mind: he was going to kill this man, he didn't know how he was going to get out, but he was going to kill this disfigured ugly bastard.

Seeing that Hadgar didn't respond, the black shadow shook his head and pulled out the dagger directly.

The screams resounded throughout the dungeon, and the night was far from over.
