Chapter 1282 Study Camp
Chapter 1282 Study Camp
Regarding the education of immigrants, the East African government has mastered a set of standardized procedures, which now mainly apply to East Africa's overseas colonies.
At the migrant study camp in Davao City.
"I am your instructor Betzdorf. In the coming days, I will tell you in Russian the rules and laws you should abide by in the Mindanao colony, as well as the requirements for naturalization."
"Coming here doesn't mean you can relax. If you can't get a local hukou, your status will always be inferior to others. Don't think I'm exaggerating."
“In Mindanao, there are still many indigenous people who have not completed naturalization. They will do the hardest work and get the lowest wages.”
"The most important thing for becoming a Mindanao citizen is to master standard German. Many Slavs in Mindanao have joined the Mindanao family in this way."
Of course, Betzdorf obviously did not mention East African nationality, but only the regional nationality of Mindanao. This situation is widely present in the colonies of East Africa. After all, it is the only overseas territory like the Lan Fang Overseas Province that has joined the East African administrative system.
There is nothing much to say about this. Just like Britain's vast colonies, it is impossible for the British to regard the colonies as their homeland.
Betzdorf said: "In Mindanao, a planned economy is fully implemented. What is a planned economy? Simply put, you must do what the government requires you to do, and you cannot do what the government prohibits. Even if there are no regulations, you must apply to the higher authorities and cannot act on your own."
“There is a lot of undeveloped land in Mindanao, so we must unite all forces to develop the area and build this into your new home.”
“When the Mindanao colony has developed to a certain stage, you can mess around as you please.”
Having said that, even if Mindanao does develop in the future, it is obvious that illegal activities must not be done.
Betzdorf went on to say, “Of course, to make it easier for you to understand, you can think of the way the Mindanao colony is managed today as militarized.”
“Of course, we don’t need you to fight, just complete the production work, which in Mindanao includes logging, construction, land reclamation, entering the mines and other mainstream work.”
"The government is in full control of the allocation of materials, including your food, clothing, housing and transportation, which are all borne by the government. While enjoying these benefits, you will naturally have to pay a price until you become a citizen."
“After becoming a citizen, you will be able to choose your own career and manage your own time more freely, just like the citizens of Davao City today.”
Of course, this also means that East Africa will no longer bear their minimum living security needs. After all, the price of freedom is self-reliance.
At first glance, the former seems good, but based on the actual situation of the two, most people will choose the latter after a period of time.
Betzdorf then began to tell the Slavs about other things they needed to pay attention to in Mindanao.
There are three immigrant study camps in Davao City, mainly targeting three groups, one is mainly Slavic immigrants, one is mainly Far Eastern Empire immigrants, and the last one is other types of immigrants.
If the Germans choose to immigrate here, they obviously do not need to join a study camp. Of course, there are not many Germans immigrating to East Africa at present, and even fewer Germans immigrating to the East African colonies.
The three study camps in Davao City have a student population of around 6,000 to 7,000 people all year round, and are not included in the population of Davao City.
Most of them could not stay in Davao City for long. Davao City was just a transit station. Generally, within two months, these immigrants would be redistributed to various places in the Mindanao colony. Most of the time, a group of people would be replaced in one or two weeks.
At the Davao City study camp, the main teaching is language, rules, and helping these immigrants to initially adapt to the local climate.
Acclimation to the local climate is actually the biggest problem faced by immigrants. Many immigrants lose their lives due to this reason every year.
The good news is that East Africa, as the only powerful country in the tropics, is also the country with the most experience and technology in dealing with tropical diseases and climate, so the immigrant attrition rate has been maintained within an acceptable range for the East African government.
In fact, the most vulnerable to death in the Nanyang colonies were the Slavs. After all, the climate in Nanyang and where the Slavs lived was completely different. Not all Slavs could not stand this climate, for example, Yugoslavia in the Balkans was much more adaptable.
……
evening.
In the cafeteria of the study camp.
"This is rice, East African food. It tastes weird, but such a big bowl of it is really solid and friendly to teeth." Kumoyev said while holding a spoonful of rice.
In Southeast Asia, East Africa was not equipped with chopsticks as tableware like in its homeland, at least in the African Far East Empire immigrant study camp.
This also shows that East Africa is relaxed about some details in its overseas colonies.
Lieblia said: "I heard from my seniors that in Mindanao, this kind of rice will probably be our daily food."
"Because in Mindanao, rice is the only food crop that can be grown on a large scale. It is not suitable for growing crops such as wheat or barley."
During this era, Ukraine, as the granary of Tsarist Russia, grew more than 80 percent of Russia's wheat, as well as large quantities of crops such as barley and beets.
Therefore, the staple food of Ukrainians is generally wheat and barley, but even so, Ukrainians live on the poverty line.
After all, as an agricultural country, wheat exports accounted for a large part of Tsarist Russia's finances, and in a relatively backward country like Tsarist Russia, land was basically concentrated in the hands of large landowners and nobles.
After all, there is a lot of competition for high-quality land. From this point of view, farmers in Russia's Siberia may live better than Ukrainians, provided that they can overcome the closed transportation and more difficult environment.
But when we arrived in Mindanao, the situation here had no counterpart in the whole of Russia, whether it was the language, customs, food, etc.
Kumoyev said: "As long as they can fill their stomachs, they can accept any food, and East Africans are very kind."
"In addition to rice, they also prepared meat and fruits. This should be sea fish. There are many fishing boats in Davao. This should be their main source of meat. In Ukraine, meat is rarely eaten, but there are more fish bones."
Lieblia said, "It's good to have something to eat, and you still want to be picky! Besides, sea fish have much fewer bones than freshwater fish. It's good to be able to share so much fish meat."
“There are also bananas and this kind of fruit I don’t recognize. Bananas are rare in Russia. I have only heard of them before, but in Davao City, bananas are everywhere.”
The unfamiliar fruit that Leblia mentioned was actually cut pineapple chunks. There are many orchards in Davao City, and these fruits are basically very cheap.
Of course, for the lower-class people living in Russia, they most likely do not recognize the various local fruits and vegetables.
Many Slavs have never even seen a banana. Although Russia was once a major importer of East African bananas, bananas are a product that ordinary Russians obviously cannot afford.
If it is a country like Germany, or an economically developed region in Russia, the people there have different perspectives.
Even if they have not seen the real thing, they can make up for it through education. For example, in a country like Germany that implements universal compulsory education, if you randomly pick a German, their knowledge is much better than most people in the world.
Kumoyev only responded to the fruit with one sentence: "So sweet!"
In fact, there are quite a lot of fruits in Ukraine. Apples, cherries, etc. are relatively common, but this is the first time they have come into contact with fruits from tropical regions. Coupled with the difficult life in recent times, they naturally have more subjective feelings.
